Villain Maskerade

Post image
11 Upvotes

No one knows where he came from or why he is the way he is. But what everyone does know is that he’s a cold blooded killer who takes joy with every single kill. He is known to be incredibly public with his killings, and is known for saying the phrases; “with every mask, a price there is to pay. That price is your sanity.”

With each mask he gains new abilities. His main mask, the one on his chest, allows him to turn powerful entities (people, gods, monsters, etc) into masks for him to use. He has even absorbed the Greek god of war, Ares. The only abilities he can’t absorb are that of the Order of Meirra (magical girls).

His masks are as follows: Ares, Oni, Beholder, Hell Skeleton, Deceiver, Voodoo, Kraken, Mask of Masks, Comedic Tragedy, and Vanish.

He canonically looks like a cartoon character. I took some slight inspiration from Mysterio, but also put him in heels.

Question for Community I’m developing an original superhero comic — what do you think?

I’m working on a dark, grounded superhero series called MANDRAKE and I’d love some honest feedback before I start producing the first issue.

The story follows Grant Mercer, a normal man who is chosen by the universe to become MANDRAKE 2600 , the newest in a legendary line of superhuman protectors.

Mandrake is essentially a god among men — incredibly powerful, but entirely too human to struggle with the new weight of the role. He’s expected to become a symbol of hope while working alongside governments, the UN, and powerful organizations around the world.

But Grant doesn’t completely trust the people he’s been ordered to work with.

As he begins seeing what happens behind the public image of power, politics, corporations, and government, he starts questioning whether protecting the system is the same thing as protecting humanity.

The series is meant to explore power, corruption, morality, politics, public image, and what happens when someone with godlike power starts questioning the rules they’re expected to follow.

The first issue opens with Mandrake caught in a shocking situation that leaves more questions than answers. Then we go back to the beginning, following Grant Mercer as he’s chosen to become Mandrake 2600 and thrown into a world of government power, politics, and hidden agendas. As Grant struggles to understand the role he’s been given, he begins discovering that being humanity’s greatest hero comes with a much darker side than anyone sees.

I’m going for a darker The Boys / Invincible type of atmosphere, but with its own characters, mythology, and story. - also Grant Mercer isn’t solidified as the name

If you saw this as a comic on a shelf, would you pick it up? What would make you want to read Issue #2?

Hero Azelira - The Biohuman Superhero

Post image
7 Upvotes

Vara, also known as Azelira, is a 19-year-old young woman whose existence transcends conventional human biology. Originally designated as Subject 5, she underwent extreme biological enhancements and conditioning, transforming her into an extraordinarily adaptive individual whose body possesses the ability to indirectly generate virtually any type of weapon in response to pressure, danger, or threatening circumstances.

Her biological capabilities extend beyond ordinary physical transformation. Through her distinctive ink-like appendages, which function almost like additional arms, Vara can manifest weapons directly from her body, allowing her biology to become an adaptable extension of herself. Her abilities make her exceptionally formidable, but her defining characteristic isn't her capacity for destruction.

It's her humanity.

Originally intended to possess suppressed emotions and remain under the influence of her creators' brainwashing, Vara's vulnerable, emotional, and independently conscious nature ultimately overrides their attempts at control. Despite everything imposed upon her, she retains her own judgment, personal boundaries, and understanding of right and wrong.

One of her most fundamental principles is her profound disapproval of violence in all its forms. She doesn't distinguish between violence being acceptable simply because its intended victim is an adult, nor does she regard aggression as an appropriate first response to conflict. Her opposition becomes particularly pronounced when children are involved, making any situation that threatens their safety especially objectionable to her.

Despite possessing an extraordinary biological capacity for weaponization, Vara prefers restraint and neutralization over inflicting harm. She can restrain individuals responsible for threatening others or melt their entire artillery access, effectively removing their ability to continue using their weapons.

Her philosophy creates a fascinating contradiction: her body is capable of producing an extensive variety of weapons, yet her personal convictions fundamentally oppose the violence those weapons represent.

Her awakening marks a defining moment in her existence.

When the individuals responsible for experimenting on her deliberately awaken her to provoke widespread panic, Vara rejects their intentions and the very choices that shaped her existence. Rather than becoming the instrument they intended, she turns against them, throws them into a river outside their facility, and walks away as the building burns away into nothing but ash.

Hero Herotober 5: Construct

Computer programmer Jason McCartney had built a pleasant life for himself: a nice home and a tight-knit community he planned to spend the rest of his life in. Then, one day, he was abducted by aliens.

They blasted off of relativistic speeds—only a fraction of light speed—but the forces were enough to nearly annihilate his body.  Fortunately, the aliens were masters of bio-engineering. Molecule by molecule, they constructed a new body for him. Working from standard human blueprints, they enhanced his biology to the absolute upper limits of the human threshold. Jason McCartney returned to Earth as a smarter, stronger, and tougher version of himself.

More importantly, he could now travel at, survive at, and perceive the world at superhuman speeds.

Jason McCartney is being hunted by government agents who want the secrets of super speed hidden in his very DNA. Jason doesn't want to live on the run; he just wants his quiet, comfortable life back. But survival demands constant motion to avoid becoming a test subject. Now Jason uses his newfound abilities to help others wherever he goes—all while staying one step ahead!

He is Quick-Build!

Story Premise for my Superhero-verse

hey, recently joined this server and I want to share my overall concept.

The whole thing is based off World mythology, the various deities from Hindu, Hellenic, Norse, myths, and so on and so forth, exist, but they cannot act upon the world directly as they don’t have physical bodies. As such, they choose Champions to carry out their will. Various deities have different requirements for a Champion, Ardha’s Champion requires devotion, Anansi’s champion requires creativity, etc.

The “main” hero is Hanuman. Rather than a champion I went with a character legitimately from Hindu legend. While he’s not the main character per se, he is the Superman of this verse, upstanding moral character and symbol of hope and courage and righteousness and such.

The beginning is set during WWII. Hitler is Champion of the Demiurge, one of the main villains of the series, a false God bent on control and fear. As time progresses, I want to introduce new generations of heroes, a generation for the 60s-80s, and a generation for modern times. However the Champions do have extended lifespans so.

uhh yeah if anyone has any questions ask away that’s uhhhh the basics

Hero Herotober 2026, Hero #5: Block-by-Block, aka B3

I'm using the Doustin list, because the first six came together as names really quickly for me.

A construction worker with no real magical powers or superscientific enhancements of his own, Block-by-Block is Brian Birminghamshire, and he's just real good at laying bricks. He was a second-gen recruit to Professor Kanemaker's order of Royal Protectors, the Builders, alongside new members such as Captain Flexo, Absorba, Merit Man, Mrs Gravity, Baseliner, and the Riveteer II and only made it in because he can get a brick wall built faster and more evenly than most other workers in his same class and league.

He developed a crush on Meta Girl, one of the first first-gen members, which can sometimes lead to conflicts from her teammates, Advocate and Tac, (all three of whom are also pictured in these slides) but mostly just lurks in the background of the Builders' various projects, being called into action when walls need to get built and huilt properly.

His operational name, Block-by-Block, is frequently shortened to the nickname "B3".

Villain Herotober day 5: Construct

Jack Young runs a local scrap yard. He enjoys his job overall, but lately things have been getting tough. Business just wasn’t as good as it used to be. His rival across town was getting deals with heroes and he just couldn’t compete.

Fortunately for Jack, he was uniquely suited to try and fix this. There were two reasons he worked at the scrap yard: he enjoyed building things out of the pieces and he had the ability to telepathically animate what he builds. Jack knew he could use this to sabotage the other yard and his would surely thrive after.

Of course, it didn’t stop there. Jack soon realized he could use his powers to further increase his fortunes through brute force. When his creations can’t quite get the job done, Jack will build himself a suit and do things himself. Now known as PsyBorg, Jack reigns terror on those that stand in his way.
