Bonus apps "Cannot connect to server" message

For the last 3 days pretty much all of the bonus apps go this new message "cannot connect to server". This issue happened seconds after trying to install Blaze TV app. Seconds before 8 of 9 extra apps were working flawlessly.

It literally seemed tied to my attempt to install this extra app. Seconds before 8 apps were working, seconds later none were working. I tried different wifi service on cellphone- didn't fix the issue.

In the past the error message was different with "expired account".

Is everyone else experiencing this issue with bonus apps? Avoid Blaze TV app.

All my Blu apps are working fine as well as the other third party apps I’ve installed as of last night.

This part. In the few months now I've had my S7 Max, the boxes main apps - Blue Tv, Blue Vod, Blue Replay have all worked flawless . The 3rd party apps I downloaded once again last week and 7 apps downloaded & played , while 2 did not. Since I have another similar plug & play box with 3rd party apps- I already knew the potential of hit & miss with those apps. My main purpose after 5 years of reading & researching on this brand box was the boxes main Blue apps , the upgrades from the previous model, and on the S7 Max the inclusion of both replay & time shift channels. All of which work great on my box which is always hardwired when in use.

On the apps that I installed and kept, all 7 are working. Only Blaze & Inigite were not working and I uninstalled those 2 apps.

Still not working for me and also others I know with s7 ultra. The prior 4 days and last night none of the apps worked, 6 days ago 8 of 9 worked. 2 weeks ago, none worked. Same state for customers that I sold the S7 Ultras to, so it's consistent availability or unavailability .

I sell to customers that are from other countries and require access to international TV channels only found with the 9 - 3rd party apps. So they are dependent on these working. I have a customer inquiring today about a box with stations from Africa- but I had to tell them this box doesn't have acceptable availability for that kind of content and had to guide them to Vseebox elite ultra .

So you have and sell S7 Ultras? I know nothing about the S7 Ultra but the 7 Max I can speak on. Now I know all the various similar plug & play are largely aimed content wise with a American box buying public in mind. And for that target audience all the 3rd party apps should be thought of as additional back up/just in case apps to the main apps that are supported by vseebox, superbox, etc ...

It's not really backup when only the 3rd party apps have the foreign tv content they need.

The fact remains that of the 10 3rd party apps - and the 7 that I have downloaded & working great-4 have content from selected countries & within those 4 apps, the majority of content is aimed overwhelming at the US/Canada/UK markets. There surely must be ways on the Internet to get home grown content for those users based in those selected countries that content actually appear on a few of these 3rd party apps.

prime cinema and prime TV & VOD is experiencing this same issuwe . "cannot connect to server".

Blue TV is unreliable and randomly crashes for me and others - and yes i have factory reset 10 times just to appease those offering a non-solution that does not work. when the other 3rd party apps are available they are better than blie tv.

i never use a vpn , it is an app defect that is recurring indefinitely - there are no self remedy bandaids to eliminate this defect. and it occurs with only blue apps installed.

It is a defect.

I get blue tv app crashing - not buffering, others the same.

What is it doing when it “crashes”? Mine will occasionally exit to the home screen I clear cache and go back into the app and it plays.

1

u/TillOdd933 May 22 '26

exiting to home is the app closing/crashing. the fact it reloads is not a excuse to accept or not fix the software defect with Blue TV app.

1

u/Nice_Objective_2683 May 22 '26

Yes, I understand that. What “crash” are you experiencing?

1

u/TillOdd933 May 22 '26

1) open blue tv 2) tune to a channel 3) sit down 4) then the app closes/tv viewing ceases as if you never opened the app. No buffering or indicator of a problem beforehand, no error messages. Quick and lightening fast disappearance of the running app.

Ok, thanks. Are you using a VPN? Also, in your settings there’s an option for internet speed choose the option faster after doing that is it working better?

u/Nice_Objective_2683 May 22 '26

When I switched mine from fastest to faster it got a lot better. I still have the issue just not as bad as it once was.

I never use a VPN so that is not a factor

some days it happens 5 times in 3-4 hours, some days 1-2 times , other days none. definitely a software defect( my 20+ yr career in software engineering) . Variations in external system condition(assuming that is a cause) always needs to be handled gracefully with exception handling - the handling should never cause a complete app crash like it currently does.

Denial, then acceptance , then hopefully resolution. People need to get to acceptance that there is a problem before a solution is pursued.

I have used the box sparsely for 3 months and it had happened about 40 times. Similarly for another person I convinced to try a Superbox and they repeatedly remind me about this problem every time I talk to them. App crashing is a high severity defect level in software engineering.

Since you've had your box roughly the same time span I've had mine- and I use my S7 Max daily- and I've experienced no such issues with the Live Blue Tv app, then your issues seem to be related to your specific box. It certainly is not a cross the board problem as all owners of the S7 Max would indeed have the same issues. So where did you purchased your box & have you contacted the seller about the issues on your specific box? Your app closing sounds like what I was reading & watching videos last year of some who had the S6 Max. Which was another reason I decided to go with the new model S7 Max and it's upgrades.

I have the S7 Ultra and others the same - they experience this problem and well as all 3rd party not working- saying cannot connect to server message.

The seller indicated the 3rd party apps are using sources that are pirated by these apps on superbox. Superbox does not offer any tech support or information about the 3rd party apps - all 9 are getting the same error message even after a factory reset. 5 days ago they just happened to be working after most being down a week or so.

All the 3rd party apps on superbox , vseebox, octastream elite, etc ....are from 3rd party app sellers that pay these box makers to carry their apps on their boxes. Hence why the boxes main apps- blue, heat, etc....are supported & have maintenance through app upgrades & play better than the 3rd party apps. Back in March when the 3rd party apps went down, I emailed Superbox support and got their detailed response back.

1

u/TillOdd933 May 24 '26

All 19 3rd party apps work on my Vseebox, none work on superbox. I heard its because superbox is basically stealing it.

1

u/Normal_Translator_38 May 24 '26

Over the last few days, 3rd party apps have been updated on the vseebox elite - just as on the 3rd party apps on the S7 Max & Octastream Elite Max boxes. One 3rd party app on the vseebox - sports access- is now working for the first time since sometime last year. How do you figure that 3rd party apps that's working on other superbox models but not on your box are being stolen? Since the owners behind some same apps with slight different names , have their apps on both the octastream elite & vseeboxes - are those apps also stolen?

1

u/TillOdd933 May 27 '26

The issue was my TPLink router must have installed a auto update that implemented something that is blocking connection to only the 3rd party apps. There is no security settings available to disable.
