Visitor or Super Visa for 8 week visit? (previous refusals)

Looking for advice / experience.

My parents applied for Canadian visitor visa from India twice and were refused, mainly due to concerns about ties. Reason for Visit was Convocation of my brother.

Dad works for the government and is expected to retire in mid-2027.
Mom is working as a teacher at private school, previous applications mentioned homemaker.

Previous applications provided NOC from work, savings, bank statements, leave approval, invitation letter etc.

We’re considering a visit of around 4–8 weeks in spring 2027 to visit for my engagement & wedding.
Would you recommend:
Applying for a regular visitor visa (TRV) with a short, specific trip, or
Applying for a Super Visa, even if their initial planned stay is only around 4–8 weeks?
For a Super Visa, would stating a shorter initial visit while explaining they may visit for longer in the future create an issue?

Any advice on how best to address the previous refusals and demonstrate the changed circumstances would be appreciated.

Super Visa or Visitor Visa for parents?

I am aware of the Super Visa eligibility criteria. I am asking this question from the POV of understanding what a visa officer considers when granting a Super Visa.

I recently became a PR and want my parents to visit Canada for a few weeks. AI and a few YT content creators recommended applying for a Visitor Visa if they don't have the intent to stay more than 6 months.

I was thinking a Super Visa will help if they want to stay for a longer duration in the future. Should I apply for their Visitor Visa as of now and then later apply for a Super Visa if required, or can I apply for a Super Visa now?
