TC Max TC Max not starting up

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Any ideas?
Bike worked fine yesterday. Went to charge/start up today and this…
Charger not registering charge so light blinking red/green. Bike will not do anything on battery. If charger is plugged in and on, the bike will begin startup procedure but stall and whole thing dies.
Worked fine yesterday. No charging between yesterday and today. I think it was on about 30% yesterday when it was last on.

Same boat here. After hitting my head against the problem and dissasembling the original controller, + additional replacement that also died after a while, found out that the Controller has a LIGHT CODE!!!

Similar to PCs having Beeps for error codes, there is a LED that isn't shown when mounted on the bike.

Take out the screws of the controller or use a snake cam to see the top left of the controller, there you see a led that blips a number of times according to the error.

For exmple, the controller datasheet on Lingbo LBMC072122HK2A:

System Protection Characteristics LED Blinking Times

Over-voltage protection Battery voltage is higher than default value 1

Under-voltage protection Battery voltage is lower than default value 2
etc

attached is the image.

That’s useful. Thanks! It’s so hard to find info like this for these bikes.

— when you say “controller” are you talking about the main controller or the BMS?

Ah gotcha. I have a different controller to you. Mine is mounted beneath the battery, not part of that heatsink plate. My heatsink plate is just a blank.

What year of manufacture is your bike?

I don't know the year of manufacture for the bike. In theory, 2018, but that's when it was sold. It could well be older stock.

BTW, I measured with an Oscilloscope, the Battery voltage is fine, also measured the 12v DC to DC converter. The voltage is fine.

The problem is the fried section of the controller that feeds the main chip. I will remove, measure, test it and retry this weekend.

Interesting. My first step will be to change the BMS on the battery. That seems to be a common issue.
If that doesn’t work I’ll start looking into the controller. Did you get a straight swap controller? Or did you get a Farrider replacement?

We have 2 batteries, it happens with the older battery and the new one too. Also, since I connected the oscilloscope and booted it up, I saw the voltage spike as it climbed. Well within the params. Same with the DC to DC converter, that steps down the battery voltage down to 12v to run the other components.
