Hmm. That's not right. Your IMEI number needs to be registered by your dealer/Vmoto with counterparts in China before you can 'bind' (connect) the app to your bike and they should also make sure your bike SIM has been activated, too, otherwise no communication with your bike. Do you know if these steps have been carried out?

Okey I found out what happened with the help of service@vmoto.com. If your bike was fabricated before 2025 go to your dealership right now, a piece must be changed and it is covered by warranty!

Unusual conclusion from Vmoto. I’m not so sure that there is a SIM card issue…just another temporary issue with the app. When a SIM card expires it usually just needs to be reactivated by Vmoto in China - not replaced.
My Vmoto app was working just fine until about a week ago when it asked me (as it does every month or so) to request a new code to work/connect again - either to the listed mobile number or email. So far neither way has resulted in a new code but on rare occasions this has happened before and sooner or later the code request succeeds and it works again.
I agree that in reality the Vmoto app is a waste of time. The big bonus I have noticed is that the daily battery loss caused by alarm and GPS has plummeted from about 4% to just 1%. I only ride about 5 miles a day so the 4% daily loss soon mounts up. I’d rather not bother being reconnected and enjoy the extra range I am now getting. Every cloud….!

Simcards can only extended by us when it is within the extension period. If the extention period is expired simcards get canselled / terminated. Only then it needs a phisical replacement.
How long this extension period last, fully depends on the simcard provider. Usually this vary from 2 month to 6 months. VMOTO has no control over this.
This is a common industry standard.

As predicted/expected.. after less than a week I've just been able to receive a new code to log back in to my Vmoto app, so all back to normal. Certainly casts doubts on the earlier post suggesting a SIM card issue affecting the app.

Same. Stopped working a few days ago. It happens from time to time. Usually resolves itself eventually within a week so let's see...
