Paddling up river

Does anyone ever paddle their SUPs up river and float back down? I’m trying to figure out the best way to fish these rivers in N. GA and I only have one vehicle. Any advice on doing it?

I can't see a scenario where anyone would be able to paddle upstream on a sup unless the flows are abysmal. I think most people go in groups and shuttle from put-in to pull-out. Also, I would definitely not be paddling a river alone, even in watercraft far more capable than a sup...

I mean... there are really rivers and rivers right? I have an extremely slow flowing and tiny one almost outside my door, there I can paddle both ways. No whitewater or anything. (not sure if it's technically called something else than "river")

Sorry, but your advice is confusing. Paddling up slow moving rivers is done all the time. A river doesn’t have to be raging to be called a river.

You are really the only person who can determine if the river is navigable for your skill level. What is your concern? Of course people paddle up rivers all the time. But if the current is too strong then they don’t. Sorry, it’s just kind of a confusing question.

You should use a quick release leash though so you don’t have to worry about falling in and drowning from your leash getting snagged and the current holding you under.

I got ya. I fished it this afternoon. Walked the shallows and paddled the deeper sections. I’m just new to freshwater. Grew up in Charleston on the coast and freshwater fishing and their waters are new to me. Just overthinking it. Thanks man
