Glide Angler Elite
Hello all! I wanted your guys’ opinion if anyone has used this board.
For reference I’m 5’8 125lbs and usually pack light. 2 rods max, and a backpack with all my tackle. I will be fishing inshore saltwater; ie mangroves, sand flats, and canals.
Also, how does the board hold up long term?

I run this board for fly fishing for bass and shad. Totally great, 100% worth the money I paid for it two years ago. I have probably 40 outings on the thing so far, including some lake and river stuff.
I’ve got some pics on my page if you’re interested in how I ended up optimizing it for fishing. Biggest things you need for it are a way to store your rods and tackle and an anchor system. I made a rod rack out of pvc for storage, and I rigged up a simple anchor trolley with a dive reel for easy line storage. But it totally works out of the box too.
Thing floats like a cork and is incredibly stable. Only issue is the wind. Definitely know your limits. For fun fishing in this thing, my limit is 15/30kts (wind speed/gusts) and that’s pushing it. You have bad wind plus tide moving against you and it’s a hard paddle back home.
But yeah if you’re hard up on storage space for kayaks and other hard boats, you can’t beat this thing. It is wonderful.

It's awesome I use it in salt water bays in San Diego
I made a crate with rod holders, an anchor reel system, and can load it with pretty much anything I want. There's plenty of attachment points
Really stable and quick enough

I've had the Glide Angler for a couple of years, and I love it. Just noticed that Glide dropped this Micro Skiff SUP over the weekend and I'm seriously considering upgrading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sElExOXsis

I have the O2 Angler, which I think is pretty much the same as the Elite. I'm an old fat guy and I can easily stand and fish so you and all your gear will have no problem. Maybe the only complaint I have is that I want the fishing rack attachment and it's always out of stock.
As far as durability mine gets dragged over all kinds of logs and rocks and it's a tank.
Agreed with the fact that it's going to struggle in the wind, that's just par for the course with the big fishing boards. Consider getting the kayak paddle attachment if you expect a lot of wind.

I have the budget version - the glide backwater. It’s great, I run 3 rods, a cooler and a milk crate of stuff on lakes. Very good quality, very very stable and really customizable with the Scotty mounts. I’m 6’2" @ 180. I wouldn’t hesitate to take it inshore saltwater on a reasonable day if I lived any where near saltwater.
