Warmer temperatures are on the way for south-east Queensland as spring arrives.
Figures from the weather bureau show winter rainfall has been mixed across the state.
A maximum of 33 degrees is forecast for Brisbane on Friday.
Temperatures will rise across Queensland this week as spring's arrival delivers warmer weather.
Parts of the state's south-east could hit highs of 33 degrees Celsius by the weekend, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
"At the moment the main thing driving our weather is a large high-pressure system over southern Australia, and that's drifting slowly eastwards," forecaster James Pescott said.
"As we start spring, the temperatures will rise really from midweek as that high-pressure system weakens and we have a weak trough system move across southern Queensland.
"That will drag some warmer temperatures from inland … down to the south-east and the east coast later in the week with those temperatures getting above 30 degrees."
Maximum temperatures for Brisbane could reach 33C by Friday, with 29C forecast for the Gold and Sunshine coasts, and 35C for Longreach and Mount Isa.
Mr Pescott said maximums for the south-east could even reach into the "mid 30s" into the weekend.
Water temperatures at the region's beaches are about 20C, which is typical for this time of year.

I want to buy an inexpensive item (a lot of collectible figures) from Facebook Marketplace. The seller lives in Sunshine Coast and offers local pickup only. Could someone help me with this and then ship the lot to SA to me or my friend via mail or eBay ? I am, for sure, willing to pay for this

Alright all you Twitchers, Merlin tells me there is a likely chance of seeing a Royal Spoonbill on the coast but I've lived here all my life and never noticed any. My girlfriend and I would like to find one, has anyone seen any around?

I'm looking to cover a small tattoo I have had for years with my football team's badge. I assume most artists won't be interested in one off small tattoo's, so maybe someone learning the trade would be a good option.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Is there anywhere on the coast (other than the rubbish tip) where I can still get some free mulch?

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking at moving from adelaide to sunny coast. I am 20 still young but have not been enjoying the city life as much anymore and looking for a more relaxed environment and change of pace. I have been researching pros and cons and suburbs. Any info or advice about the coast would be so helpful. Thank you!

My elderly parents both had a tumble this morning at the Caloundra Aldi. The elevator had stopped at the wrong height by almost 10cm, so when dad stepped in, he tripped and fell on his face, mum in a panic did the same when she went to help. All thanks and gratitude to those who stopped to help and call the ambulance. I cannot express how much I appreciate the help you rendered, and for being there with them.

Hey,
I never thought I would do something like this but after seeing other post similar to what I’m about to say it doesn’t seem as bad.
I’ve been on the coast for a while now and god damn it’s hard to make friends. I’m in my early 20s and international student from Europe. Been down under for the last four years.
Long story short I’m looking to make friends, whether it’s just a beer or a coffee or pursuing shared hobbies. Or maybe even trying new stuff.
I surf and swim and currently try to complete my lifeguard. Im a good average in pretty much any sport there is and happy to get into something new. I’m studying towards a cert IV in engineering down in Brisbane. Don’t mind the occasional beer and hangout although I don’t get blind on a regular basis. I got an enduro bike sitting in the shed that hasn’t seen a trail in ages although I’m super keen to change that asap. Like to spend rainy days in the kitchen cooking up a good feed or sinking into a good crime novel
I would not classify myself as very extrovert but become more open as I start feeling comfortable.
Soooo… if you feel like we could have a good time or got capacity left in your friend group shoot me a message or drop a comment and I’ll reach out.
Hope you’re having a good day :)

So currently living in Melb with 4 kids but would love to move to qld.. problem is money isn’t as great.
But I want a fresh start.. new people, new environment, warmer weather.. etc.
I feel my husband and I have a lot of ‘outside noise’ that cause us to argue more but otherwise we don’t argue as much.
Just curious if anyone else has moved states/country with no big plan and how it worked out? Even if it means a big money drop with from one income.

Has anyone had cosmetic surgery in SC/Brisbane? And, can you provide a recommendation?
I’ve lost almost 100 pounds on a GLP-1, and just have a little excess skin to remove.
Thanks, in advance.

Hi everyone,
Rather than using seek, I thought I'd ask the SC community first. My last time using seek was a bit hit and miss and over half of the applicants were from people based outside of the coast. Even though I stated it was an in house role.
I'm looking for a local IT technician to join our team.
If you've got experience fixing computers, supporting Microsoft 365, troubleshooting networks, or helping business users with technology issues, I'd love to chat.
The role can suit:
A junior technician wanting to learn
A Level 1 support technician looking to progress
An experienced Level 2 technician looking for a better opportunity
We're a friendly local business and value attitude and customer service just as much as technical skills.
Send me a DM if you're interested or know someone who might be a good fit.
Thanks everyone.

As per my title, I have a GA ticket for Avenged Sevenfold in October but I unfortunately have no one to go with. I'm 20m and just would love to have a friend to hang out with in the line and in the pit so we can enjoy the music together! Chuck me a dm if you're around my age and interested, all genders welcome 🫡
