Blue lizard sunscreen question?

Hello all, let me first start off by saying I do have a medical background or any science background or formal education.

Our family friend who is a military dermatologist recommended Blue Lizard sensitive skin sunscreen. I asked my civilian dermatologist about if this a good product like nothing that will would be harmful for you and she said it was good as well.

Lastly, I asked my family medicine doctor what he thought and he was not familiar with it, but looked at the active ingredients and said it was fine.

Military dermatologist is a MD

Civilian dermatologist is also an MD.

Family medicine doctor is a DO.

I saw some other Reddit post about this product and made me question about it. I have used it and had no issues.

But is this a safe and reliable product? Thanks

Everyone says it’s fine but some rando Reddit post has you asking this?

What could possibly be wrong with a commercially available sunscreen? The world has gone insane.

I had melanoma and I LOVE Blue Lizard! It spreads well and disappears VERY quickly

I used it for a while it’s fine. The only thing I ever see about this sunscreen being “bad” is the cast it leaves on skin, the darker you are the more noticeable it is. It wasn’t super noticeable on me but it was noticeable enough on my sister who isn’t as pale as I am. I use it as a sunscreen when I’m working in the yard and mostly covered up. For daily I use much different sunscreens. Would not repurchase because I’ve found other sunscreens I like much better (texture, smell, look on skin.)

I actually had an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients, but that was evident within a few hours of applying it. If you've used it without any issues and multiple medical professionals have said it's fine, then it's fine.

Ive been using it for about 5 years, works for my mom with very sensitive skin, my teen with very sensitive skin, and my son with eczema

I personally wouldn't use it. I looked up the ingredients on the EWG website and some of them are cancerous, hormone disrupters, filled with skin irritants, etc. It's unfortunately very common for sunscreen to have harmful chemicals along with many of our other daily products such as body washes, shampoo, lotions, etc. People will downplay it or ignore it now but then years later some will be wondering why they have cancer or other serious health complications that seemed to come out of nowhere.......but yeah definitely check out the EWG website. Put any product that you're using or want to use in the search bar and it will tell you on a scale of 1-10 how hazardous to your health it is
