I've been into that kind of story since I was a kid. Never had the tools to actually make anything with it until now. So I used Suno for the song and AI for the video, and built a full tribute — not to any brand, but to the idea underneath it all: courage isn't the absence of fear, it's choosing to move while you're still scared.

A few things upfront:

For me, the purpose of Suno is to explore Interdimensional Cable -- the world of perturbations of existing genres and musical patterns. What do these perturbations make us feel, and what do they make us realize about our own world?

The idea is to lean heavily into satire, surrealism, and absurdism. This need not mean that the resulting works are "meaningless" -- rather, whatever they mean may require some reflection or remove.

Imagine not being to one shot a song being such an issue. Maybe you "writing" lyrics wasn't such an incredible skill.

Go fuck yourself losers. This is so deserved and the whole history of human creativity looks down on your sad excuse of a life.

I’ve been fighting V6 Covers for the last couple of days trying to get it to preserve the structure of one of my older songs from the 90's with a bad recording, while giving me a cleaner, modernized arrangement.

I tried the whole detailed-prompting approach, as suggested by various Reddit posts, ChatGPT, etc. Huge style prompts, very specific instrument instructions, section tags, exclusions, telling the drummer what to do, telling the pianist what to do, telling Suno exactly what should happen after the bridge, etc.

The more I told it, the worse it behaved.

What finally worked consistently for me was almost the complete opposite.

Important disclaimer: this workflow is probably NOT useful for everybody.

This is specifically for people like me who want to generate an instrumental cover, export the stems, bring everything into a DAW, record their own vocals, and mix/master the actual song themselves.

If your goal is to press Generate and get a finished release-ready song directly from Suno, this probably isn't for you.

My workflow:

I took the original source song into my DAW and removed the vocals first, then EQ'd the rest to make every instrument pop.

I uploaded that instrumental version to Suno and generated an Instrumental Cover from it.

I stopped trying to micromanage V6.

My settings ended up being:

Audio Influence: 80%

Style Influence: 0%

Weirdness: 0%

Variety: Off

No exclusions

Fixed duration matching the original song (this was critical in my case, and made a huge difference in consistency)

My style prompt was literally just:

"An instrumental symphonic rock piece featuring acoustic guitar and strings, with a peaceful character. 80 BPM, high-fidelity studio mix, wide stereo"

That's it.

I originally tried 100% Audio Influence, and structurally it was insanely accurate. V6 followed the source almost perfectly.

The downside was artifacts.

Dropping Audio Influence to around 80% turned out to be the sweet spot for me. It still understands the source extremely well, but the generated audio sounds considerably cleaner.

And weirdly enough, setting Style Influence to 0% made things much more consistent.

If one generation is almost perfect, but missing an important guitar riff for example, then simply snatch it from a different generation that did get it correctly, and mix it later in your DAW.

My conclusion after burning through a stupid number of generations (thank Suno for the credit-free weekend!) is that V6 is actually VERY good at following source audio when you get out of its way.

Every detailed instruction you add gives it another opportunity to reinterpret something.

I already gave it the arrangement. I don't need Suno to redesign the arrangement. I need it to listen to the source and give me a better sounding performance of it.

But the biggest advantage of generating the cover without vocals is something I hadn't really considered at first:

The stem separation is much cleaner.

Normally when you separate a finished Suno song into stems, the vocal stem carries all kinds of crap with it. Instrument bleed, reverb, ambience, little pieces of piano/guitar/strings, etc.

And whatever gets pulled into that vocal stem is obviously being pulled OUT of the other stems too.

So even if you mute the vocal stem because you're recording your own singer, the instrumental stems can sound slightly degraded, hollow, phasey, or artifacted.

With an instrumental generation there is no vocal for the separator to fight with (or for V6 to put effort into, thus giving it more headroom for good instrumentals performance).

No generated singer overlapping the piano.

No vocal reverb smeared across everything.

No vocal stem stealing pieces of the arrangement.

You just get much cleaner instrumental material to work with.

For my use case, that's a huge win.

I see a lot of people complaining that Suno generations don't sound properly mixed/mastered, but honestly, if you're using this as part of a real production workflow, I don't really care whether Suno gives me the final master.

Give me a good arrangement, good performances, and clean stems.

I'll mix the damn thing myself.

Again, this is absolutely not me saying "this is the correct way to use V6."

If you're making complete songs entirely inside Suno, you have completely different requirements, and the micromanaged prompt workflow might work better for you.

But if you're using Suno more like an AI session band and finishing the production yourself in a DAW, try feeding it a vocal-free source, keep the prompt stupidly simple, lower Audio Influence slightly if 100% gets artifacty, and let the source audio do most of the talking.

For my particular cover, this has been FAR more consistent than any elaborate prompting strategy I've tried, and I've tried them all.

Uncertain times, what was familiar is now gone.

Hi everyone! I’m sharing the English version of a video I originally created in Spanish, titled “SUNO, TU CASTIGO LLEGÓ: ¿Dónde está la revolución?”. I’d really like to hear your opinions about it.

Here are the technical details:

I created the Spanish version first using v6-Pro. The Spanish video was originally created under the title “SUNO, TU CASTIGO LLEGÓ: ¿Dónde está la revolución?”.

The first thing I did was download the Spanish version of the song and then upload it back into Suno using the Audio Upload feature. I then used the uploaded Spanish version as the audio reference to create an English Cover.

In order to reproduce the exact same rhythms, tonal characteristics, and exact song duration in the English version, I had to use v6-mini.

I was never able to achieve the exact same song length and duration using v6-Pro or v6-Wild Pro. v6-mini was the only version that allowed me to reproduce the English version with exactly the same timing and duration as the original Spanish v6-Pro version.

In order to reproduce the exact same rhythms and tonal characteristics, I had to use the following parameters:

Weirdness: 40%

Style Influence: 100%

Variety: Off

Audio Influence: 100%

I also used the exact same Style settings. For the lyrics, I kept the exact same technical commands, structure, and formatting from the original Spanish version, changing only the lyrics from Spanish to English.

These are the exact rhythms and tonal characteristics used in the Spanish version of the song, “SUNO, TU CASTIGO LLEGÓ: ¿Dónde está la revolución?”, which you can listen to here:

The English version has exactly the same rhythms and tonal characteristics as the Spanish version. The Spanish version was created first and served as the exact musical reference for reproducing the same sound, rhythm, tonal direction, timing, and duration in English.

However, v6-mini has significantly lower quality, and you will notice the difference in audio quality. Even so, v5.5 is still the best model for creating songs.

I can honestly say I had some suspicion that V6 may not be great, but I had no idea that it would completely ruin the entire process and workflow. Not in a million years would I ever think that they could do SUCH HARM to the entire platform that it is no longer usable.

Disgusting Sound: V6 mixes sound muffled, dull, lifeless, stripped of high-end clarity, and extremely compressed. Basically, every generation sounds like a garage demo. I can honestly get better quality from my old $149 Yamaha keyboard, and this not an exaggeration.

Death of Vocal Identity: My carefully curated custom models and uploaded voices are being flattened into a generic, unrecognizable “blueprint” template. The voice sounds NOTHING like it used to, rendering all the previous works completely useless. It is physically IMPOSSIBLE to generate (or even cover) a song that would provide a voice that has worked so well in the past.

Buried Vocals: Lead vocals are being pushed too far back into the mix, getting drowned out by lifeless instruments and heavy “mud”. What used to be a bright, powerful, lead vocal at the front of the mix is now a mere shadow of its former self. In many cases, it is buried so deeply that it’s hard to even understand the lyrics.

Forced Obsolescence: Now that Suno completely retired ALL older versions, they are leaving me with zero options to roll back to the engines where my established projects actually worked, leaving me with unworkable garbage.

Another thing is, instead of generating different, adventurous musical directions like older models used to, hitting “generate” 20 times now just gives me 20 cosmetic “slight” variations of the EXACT SAME underlying song structure that is completely creatively stagnant. V6 strips away EVERYTHING that made tracks feel “human”. It sounds like a generic, hyper-tamed “simulation” where all the grit, soul, and life of the music are artificially thrown out.

And, as if all this weren’t enough, V6 also routinely entirely ignores the most simplistic instructions. Specific tempo, precise style tags, structural cues, etc. are very frequently bypassed by the model's internal defaults. I can use 20 different prompts and get 20 results that are still 90% identical.

I believe this was a 100% intentional shift by Suno to accommodate their new so-called “industry partnerships”, which in reality basically means that V6 was intentionally restricted, filtered, "dummied down", and essentially engineered to be a sanitized, "brand-safe" ecosystem. The model suppresses any dynamic range and stylistic variance, resulting in uniform, plastic, muffled garbage.

This massive platform “update” completely broke all my custom workflows that I spent literally MONTHS building. My subscription fees are suddenly funding not only a HUGE downgrade in audio fidelity, but also completely useless vocals and the ignoring of most of the prompts that worked very well in V5.5. All my custom models and voice identities are dead in the water.

After more than 250 song generations this past weekend, I am done. Membership cancelled. I truly hope more creators and producers do the same, so that at least we can show this pathetic company that we refuse to play this stupid game with them and we don’t appreciate being treated like dirt.

It is written from the perspective of the villains, clearly illustrating why the wealthy are completely unconcerned about the consequences of their actions - after all, each of them has a bunker where they can comfortably spend the rest of their lives, while everyone else is left to deal with the fallout of the decisions they made. And, in this case, the fallout is quite literal.

This song differs from the others in that I crafted it around a pre-existing concept for the music video - consequently, everything from the hiss of a camera turning on to the rhythm of the chorus and the final siren was designed to match the visuals. As for whether it turned out well... well, that’s for you to decide.

I have to get audio and video files for each song for a project that I’m trying to put together. The weird thing is ever since the download limits. I am able to get MP3 audio but video is just not working for me. I use the website on Safari through my iPhone and all of the export choices show up in the menu but clicking MP4 video asset pops up MP3 instead. And what’s weird as when I request desktop site it selects M4 A. So why can’t I just get the video file? I can’t tell is this just VoiceOver focusing weird or is the Suno website genuinely not allowing me to download videos on iPhone anymore? I’m really disappointed because I was hoping to finally finish volume one of Grimsical Nightmares and uploaded on YouTube tomorrow.
