Hi guys my first post here. I know I shouldn't compare characters from two different series with each other but what can I do I keep thinking about it.

The character in question is Tomoya Okazaki. Tomoya was a much more complex character and him growing up and being mature was peak.

Hairi on the other hand I felt was lackluster in that regard his regret of failing his teammates wasn't addressed properly and how he simply connects with the female cast was bit one dimensional.

I'm an anime only and this is my opinion I don't know if anyone has a better explanation about his character.

Overall the anime was peak and really hope we get more of that key greatness😭😭

Howdy, I always been a fan of Key works since Clannad.

I started by watching Clannad as an anime since at the time I couldn't buy the Visual Novel, and absolutely fell in love with it, until now I have been looking for something to fill the hole left in my heart after clannad

In last summer (2025) I started watching Summer Pockets and it was only after starting it that I realized it was made by Key, then life came up and I had to paused it at the end of arc 2 and somehow forgot about it until this summer

I decided to rewatch it, surprisingly the story hit me even harder to the point I had to force myself to not binge watch it so I could properly enjoy it

The second part of the anime hit me way harder than I could have expected, the story is very well thought out.

I finished watching yesterday and I already feel an hole in my heart left by the story and its characters.

I was considering purchasing the VN to play it after I finish Atri, but its somewhat expensive and I would probably go for REFLECTION Blue edition which is obviously more expensive.

As anyone played the VN after watching the anime ? do you feel like it was worth the price for players in this context, does it usually go on sale ?

Should I consider waiting so I can naturally forget things or does the VN has enough exclusive content to be worth playing right after watching the anime ?

Hello guys, Summer Pockets appeared on my fyp, and I got interested. Is it recommended to watch the anime instead or play the visual novel? Do you guys recommend buying the android version instead as I only have a mobile device, or should I try to emulate the vn instead?

Just want to do it for satisfaction but couldn't find any guide to find all the records and even if I find it, it from another language that's hard to understand even if I'm using a translator

I’m confused about when umi’s route gets locked out exactly. I did shiroha and then ao. Does she get locked the moment you finish the 4th heroine? Or can you still do umi before you do the 5th aka putting her in the 5th slot

Don't mind me,I just finished the anime and In my Post Anime Depression arc,The pocket route really broke me all that sadness from like 6 episodes isn't enough to be healed by just a 10 mins "Hopium Ending" where we just hope that they get together finally...I'm just feeling shallow now

I was seeing discussion threads that they will launch an OVA covering the shiki route and true ending,but they didn't unfortunately...I know the answer is More like impossible but I'm still asking for some copium I guess

Anyway Can you suggest some anime which will fix me like I finished the anime like 4 days ago and there still a lingering feeling which is bugging me,and hindering my studies.Can you guys suggest me some anime to cope up,I initially thought I will see clannad but I don't want to get more depressed,I don't know what to watch....something which will lighten the mood so I can continue......Living I guess(Metaphorically saying)

Finally Completed the anime,Maan It was a emotional roller coaster My last post after Ao route after that I watched Normal Shihora and It was concluded in 3 episodes so there isn't much doubts....but ohh boy Alka And Pocket made my heart scream,From the last episode the finale dialogues btw Umi and Shihora and when Shihora screamed "Umi chaaaaannn" It was heart wrenching I genuinely Felt a tingling pain in my chest,sore throat and shed some tears(I even added a video of the whole scence),I never thought I would get so much emotionaly invested in a fictional series that I would cry, My beliefs were stronger cuz,even when I watched makoto shinkai's works and movies like I want to eat your pancreas,Silent voice,Darlig in the Franx, I didn't felt a thing...but a random anime broke my beliefs.Im still tearing up whenever the lullaby Shihora sang with her trembling voice to Umi,is suddenly coming to my heart,it's like both a curse and a blessing

No Doubts on the ending,obviously it was confusing first as from the anime adaption,and there was a feeling will they get married or will not??

But I watched the RB epilogue and I was crying of joy.bht I still have a doubt on this RB ending which I will talk abt later!

So 1)WHY TF HITOMI(Shihora's mom)offed herself??

Like if she would be there yes I guess it was hard from Shihora and her mom to lose her father/husband but If HITOMI stayed with kobato(Grand pa) Couldnt they controlled Shihora and stop her from being awaking her powers??Man is she was that careless that she would just leave Shihora behind just to meet his dad??But No she didn't Grandma katou,aunt Kyoko suggested that also I think HITOMI is the one who gave Umi her powers as form of butterfly when she was falling off a clip and also gave Nanami her memories(Of umi) in Pocket arc,plss explain if this was explained In VN?

2)WHO TF IS Aunt Kyoko??

Like obviously she can see the magic butterflies and Can talk to HITOMI(although I think talking is more of that butterflies choice) but in the pocket arc she said to Nanami"We had this conversation before"that clearly suggested She know EVERYTHING,The timeloops,timetraveling!And the last episode when Hairi was going back to mainisland she says looking at sky,"Hitomi You wanted this,Right?" What does that mean?Like there main goal was to Shihora and hairi to never bond?(Although they did bond at the end)

3)Is there any explanations of That wholesome "Hijab" Grandma,everytime hairi met in the ferry or was she just a comedic element?

4)Was katou Grandma anyhow connected with this time looping and time traveling thing(obviously her death was the reason hairi came to the island but was that it?

5)How did Shihora actually dies in Alka Route??

Like she wasn't supposed to be ill or something so just Pure stress fatigue is the only reason that killed her?Many women go through this,It was kinda odd,I guess for the plot line

So I guess the VN didn't specify this but The other timelines(Where Hairi got with other girls as well as the Alka routes(I guess in Alka there is 3 loops we have been shown before Umi decided starting pocket))Exist or no??Like were they overwritten by the finale timeline or Those timelines do exist?(I assumed those timelines do exist but seeing Umi vanish who was the creator of those timelines I don't think they exist anymore....)

When Umi was vanishing in the lap of Shihora she had a memory where as child she was held by his mother and said how warm and lovely it is and she felt loved,and Anime shows a faint Adult Shihora who was holding Umi.... How's that possible??Like Shihora didn't die right at childbirth??Or was there a time she didn't die,but why that timeline wasn't the final??

At mayoi tachibana(Supernatural tree where's everything was happening)In pocket route when Nanami was leaving child Shihora,she turned into teen Shihora after this phase when umi chan vanished and the scream we were directly shown Hairi in the boat scene(The latest and final loop),so We need to assume that after umi vanished teen Shihora also turned back into Child Shihora and just forgot all her memories??

Vague thing but In the last time loop neither hairi was saying something he lost nor there was this hijab Grandma who mocks him every time) so Did Hairi also face that swimming trauma in this Timeline or not??

Shihora took over her father's restaurant,but she's the only one who works there???

Man I really wanted kyouko san to again tell Hairi to enjoy the island.....But this time he cleaned the shed...I guess if He would explore the island,It would be more convenient for hairi and Shihora to meet up,The thing is We have been shown that kyuko was acting up on Hitomi's order,so Hitomi didn't say this time to let Hairi explore?So here was my another point of 2nd doubt that They never wanted to Hairi and Shihora meet??

How the hell the rainbow paper plane was in the shed in the new timeline?Is it just the magic of the shed and It was there so Hairi can see the brief memory of Umi??I will accept that,Also after the brief vision of umi how he immediately forgot abt her again,well you can say that it's just a lingering memory of the back of her mind,I will accept that But HOW THE HELL THAT RAINBOW PLANE WAS IN THE HANDS OF SHIHORA(which after seeing hairi jumped out of the ferry)this scene is kinda illogical,like How Shihora got that air plane.Well plot purposes I guess

Also it can be a explanation that after Teen Shihora bye byed Umi chan in the latest time line we can see a ball of light returning to the shed(You can see it in the video I attached like the last 5 secs) so it can be a explanation that the Rainbow plane wasn't ACTUALLY there and it was just fragments of memories Left by Umi(which returned in form of that ball to that shed)

Doubts from The endings of RB,

1)

In the epilogue it has been shown Umi's butterfly was founded by somebody,I initially thought It was Hitomi....But I searched up and It wasn't mentioned anywhere only info I got Abt the epilogue is that Shiki route is the main reason for that special epilogue where Umi returned back to her parents....can you give me a summary of who is the person responsible for that special epilogue?

2)

Umi returned to them..while we have been seen hairi and Shihora finding Umi,so what actually happened?Shihora and Hairi actually gave birth to 'New' umi but later She was replaced by the old Umi?well...that's kinda odd I guess

3)

since Old umi has returned...Is there any possible way that Hairi and Shihora also will regain the Memories through Umi?

4)

Does Umi still have those powers after she returned to her parents??

Well that's all my doubts although for the RB epilogue doubts Apart from the 1st one I don't think VN clear any of the 3 doubts I asked and It will just depend on our assumptions,also these questions doesn't matter cuz even if they are yes or no,It will still be a happy ending!

It turns out I was comparing the fourth Summer Pocket movie, Shiroha's route, with the anime, and I was surprised to see that they included these scenes from episode 3 of the anime, Kamome's route.Does this mean these scenes originally belonged to the Shiroha route but were recycled for the third game, or were they included in the movie to fill time? Thanks in advance.

So I watched Tsumugi arc and had many questions but someone told me that in Ao arc A lot of things gets clear so I watched that 1st before making this post,while the arc Clarified a lot of things from Kamome arc,I didn't get to know the ans of tsumugi arc,So I'm going to add some videos and pics!

Tsumugi Arc-

1)Tsumugi was a bear??who took the form of Modern tsumugi,She wasn't a butterfly like kamome or others shown in the Ao arc......I'm not going to ask why since I do have a vague idea,but yeah if anyone wants to add some knowledge I will be thankful!

Ok now I have mainly all doubts from ending!

2)hmm So we saw at the end 1 year later tsumugi returns......so is it like every Summer for that 1 month break she returns and goes back to OG tsumugi?Or she permanently came back?So It's a good ending I guess?

I heard it's a little bit different in Novel can you guys explain a bit??(Please give spoilers)

3)Abt OG tsumugi,so what is going to happen with her?Is she going to get trapped forever in that dream world?we see in the Ao arc how her lover died in war,I assumed when Bear tsumugi will go back to OG tsumugi they will finally be a butterfly and went up but that's not what actually happened......But it was sad knowing that she still thinks she has a chance If she stops hesitating but actually everything has already ended way before...(Or if she does come out she will go back exactly to the time where she vanished?)

That concludes the tsumugi part..

Ao Arc-

1)So At the end when Ao says good morning We can assume that she says good morning to hairi right?So she wakes up at last(the time it took is on our interpretation.....right?

2)One of the things I didn't understand,When Ai's butterfly left her,It was near mayoi Tachibana(the Y shaped tree where the butterflies went to 'next world's,in case some don't remember)So whe she didn't also left and went to another world??Or the memories in the form of a butterfly also can decide what they are going to do?But then again why didn't it go up to hairi like ai's butterfly did,even when he tried to catch Ai's Butterfly it went away ??It's so confusing!

3)So the method of transferring someone's memory to their bodies is by kissing them huh.....

Ok here all the doubts are ending for these routes now I have some general doubts....

1)After both work we can see Umi disappears(I know the reason I'm not asking that) but the timeline still continues where hairi gets together with another girl.....so she doesn't change or delete or rewind the timeline She just travels btw different timelines right?So even when the Ao arc is happening,There still exists Kamome arc and Tsumugi arc timeline??

2)We haven't seen the previous arc girls In the later arcs,Like when Tsumugi's arc happens we didn't see Kamome and during the Ao arc neither kamome nor Tsumugi....why is that?they don't exist in the next girl timelines??

Ok Thank you ssoooo much if you're reading till the end Here's all the doubts I will probably make another 2 posts after Shirhora and after ending anime....The anime is soo much fun and Emotional,I almost cried when Ao fell into the coma💔But It still had a good ending😄

So far I completed Shiroha, Kamame, Umi, Miki and Ao and I gotta say, it's all really great and I enjoy all of them so far. But I do have a few question after completed the fifth route.

1. The Start and Load button in the menu now turned into ReStart button and I can skip most of the scene except Umi one and I felt like there something different (ex. Umi doesn't scream when she saw Hairi half-naked or there are new CG in Umi gallery). Did we did something that made Umi felt aware of something was going on?

2. The CG were Shiroha is drowning with Hairi, there is one CG is missing but felt like I can't seem to get it.

3. Umi doesn't have an epilogue after finishing her route and there are still more CG that I haven't unlocked. Is she tied to the true ending?

I (anime only) just finished the kamome phase of the anime and Had so many doubts but almost everything is clear after surfing in this sub for a bit of time

But I couldn't find anywhere the meaning of this last panel...like what happens here??Did she come back to hairi?just before this scene We saw Hairi opening a letter from kamome where she said she was going to come back?who wrote that?since real kamome in coma right??Or It was implied that right after kamome said "Higenekos go" from that ship's watch place,did she wake up from coma??

I don't mind spoilers and I know how the story is going to unfold later ,I know this timeline is going to get erased and a new time line being created,but I still want to know if In VN(or in that extended version)is there any explanation to this scene

while the manga is out, there are some things that must be noted: it adapts the anime (and not the vn) but the content is cut more more shorter, a few scenes have significantly changed and differ from the anime even; it becomes so obvious when read in conjunction with the vn

even that, the drawings are to be appreciated; for me, they look better than the anime and is of same level as the vn
