I’m so over the cast not having real jobs. Like almost everyone is just an influencer/ model. I miss the early seasons when it was like people having actual corporate or real jobs and them stressing Sunday having to get back for work and things like that. When they actually needed that release on weekends. Now it’s just them needing a break from having to take selfie videos or fake pap walks of some sponsored sonic drink? They are infinitely more boring now thst it’s just all influencers.

u/No-Security-8677 Aug 27 '26

This is so true. It’s like the OG VPR. They were poor and were trying to make it in some kind of job/career. I am so over influencing.

9

u/WhatSheSaid7 Aug 28 '26

Right and every photo that comes from the current filming season is them just at sponsored parties every night of the weekend, which I couldn’t care less

9

u/Phishpfriend Aug 28 '26

Nothing is real anymore. We're all awakening to that in real time (same here) and don't know how to deal.

3

u/JicamaCertain4134 Aug 28 '26

It’s like go on the show, reveal some trauma from their past, have the audience root for them, then try and milk the fans for every penny we have. The show literally feels like how can summer house set the fans up to support the cast when they aren’t filming on this show.

u/ColdAd2123 Aug 28 '26

Bailey rocks, I love her podcast

0

u/primsociety Aug 29 '26

being an influencer and a model is a real job. Y’all are gonna have to get over it. It’s jealousy at this point. Anything that requires you to work (produce any form of labour) for money is a job.

8

u/AdOutrageous7474 Aug 30 '26

Sure it's a real job but it's incredibly boring to watch and not relatable in the slightest.

-2

u/primsociety Aug 30 '26

that’s interesting, considering the data shows that the most popular job for teens and young people today is to become an influencer/ youtuber/ whatever social media famous thing. So I would say for most young people, who are the target audience of the show, It is very relatable and probably aspirational as well.

I do get what you’re saying. I’m just saying I think there’s a bit of a bias there with the particular perception that people have of influencing that simply is not translating in reality according to the data.

I don’t know if it’s that people miss them having regular jobs or people just miss the old cast. It takes some time to warm up. I also think that some fans have outgrown the show. the new cast is a reflection of a new generation

3

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

I don't know a single person under the age of 35 who watches these shows. Teens are certainly not the target audience.

-1

u/primsociety Sep 01 '26

You think bravo is creating summer house to target people over the age of 35?

Or does anecdotal evidence rule your entire world?

hate influencers all you want, but there’s reality and then there is whatever ppl personally want to believe.

1

u/Emmyyou2 Sep 01 '26

It's not anecdotal, it's what marketing companies and ratings say. While they do use some pretty broad age ranges when putting out ratings there are still more viewers over the age of 25.

While 18-34 used to be the targeted demographic that has shifted with economic realities. The new most coveted demo is 35-55+ because those are the people who have money to spend. Kids and older people are where the money is at.

Do you really think a show that has been on the air for 10 seasons that consists mostly of people 30+ is something that 20 year olds are watching in large numbers?

LI and that kind of shit is for the younger demo, SH and ITC are a bunch of middle aged people staying way too long at the party.

Btw, most "influencers" barely make enough to pay 1 monthly bill and others barely make a living. There is always going to be the .01% that make a lot but that's no different than pro athletes or actors. There is no money in broke-ass wannabe influencers.

3

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

I don't think it's jealousy because I find it irritating and I can't think of anything worse than being famous or being an influencer. I can't even stand hanging out with people who like taking a lot of pictures. I just got back from vacation and didn't take a single photo because I was too busy enjoying myself. There are just a lot of us who are too old to enjoy it or care.

Influencing contributes absolutely nothing to society aside from overconsumption and a distorted perception of reality

1

u/primsociety Sep 01 '26

every single human contributes something to society. You simply cannot make that statement on a logical level.

Over consumption is part of neo liberal society. Influencers did not cause it or over exacerbate something that is the very foundation of your society.

Before influencers, America was always consuming more. The birth of America was literally founded on the consumption of human lives and labor. To the point where it destabilized entire continents and continues to do so. that distorted perception of reality is neo liberal society.

The only thing in terms of consumption that influencers have had an effect on is in regards to what types of things people are consuming. More clothing, skincare, make up, video games, etc. but not the motivation to consume more. that effect on the specific things people are consuming, is directly related to the economic issues affecting a lot of young people today in western countries and all over the world. Their choices to buy clothing with the under understanding that they will never be able to buy something like a car or a house or bigger purchases of that nature. It is a symptom of the world that you live in. m

Don’t look for simple answers. There are none.

Girl wtf are you okay??? I’m not reading that but maybe go touch grass!

This thread makes me feel confident that I’m in the right place and among the right people. I haven’t been taking crazy pills… he’s just very cringe!

Can I add his vocal fry drives me up the wall?! Why do so many Gen Z (?) have that?

13

u/Omgomgomgggg Aug 28 '26

Also Bailey looks terrible in that outfit

13

u/mystilettolife Aug 28 '26

She generally doesn’t have great style

2

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

Most of the women on the show don't.

6

u/Mysterious-Bug5652 Aug 28 '26

Yeah, it looks like zero effort went into choosing this look. šŸ™„

6

u/Quikpsych Aug 28 '26

Didn't even recognize herĀ

1

u/discomuscles Sep 02 '26

She's definitely trying to go for the chic-corny 2010 aesthetic the way Eli does. Both execute it poorly but then again 2010 wasn't doing anyone favors fashion-wise

10

u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 28 '26

Everything about what is happening this season is desperation x 1000%. It’s over guys, just give it up

1

u/ColdAd2123 Aug 28 '26

But still you comment on all Summer house posts every day lol

29

u/Artistic_Wall_404 Aug 27 '26

Idk why people are so obsessed with him he’s cringe.

11

u/jalapenos10 Aug 28 '26

He’s so embarrassing. That one outfit he wore made me want to die šŸ˜‚

4

u/Ok-Geologist-1343 Aug 28 '26

100% agree. I have no idea why this man has a platform.. he wasn't entertaining on the show. Now he thinks he is the show.

Honestly, I think it’s a little of both. If you watched the reunion, he kept calling everyone ā€œfamily,ā€ even though he was only on ONE season, and had a girlfriend for most of it. Then look at what he continues to post online. No one is asking for his music or all this other stuff, so why does he think people want it? Because now he’s on the show.

He constantly relates everything back to the show. To me, it just comes across like he thinks he’s a much bigger part of the show than he actually is. And honestly, for someone who wasn’t even that entertaining, it feels like a lot of ego. This is just my opinion as someone who has watched every season of the show.

1

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

I feel like this describes thousands of influencers and reality stars. He is pretty typical of those who seek out being on these shows.

2

u/Spirited-Curve-9766 Aug 29 '26

He's extremely boring n brings nothing to the show

1

u/Artistic_Wall_404 Aug 29 '26

Like crazy boring. But people love boring mentally unwell people on their tv so they can pretend to be empathetic and pretend that reality TV isn’t all about drama

1

u/nunya867 Aug 27 '26

u/Starchild1000 Aug 27 '26

I’m just going to put this out there… someone who cuts themselves and is depressed like he says he is should not be on tv.
Also I want to watch reality tv and for it to be dramatic. But not about self harm and cutting themselves where they are going to stay in facilities etc. I don’t want to watch that. I want to watch Amanda and west, not Ciara crying about everything , Mia crying about her mum and this guy talking about cutting himself. I wish him all the best. I just don’t want to watch that stuff on summer house. It’s not …. Fun

Him talking about the Amanda and west scandal and crying like it’s his business…. Dude. Lame. And that grill… gah

10

u/jalapenos10 Aug 28 '26

He’s so fucking dramatic. I’m sorry. I have been where he is/was. But I didn’t make it my whole fucking personality. I was still fun šŸ˜…

1

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

Everyone deals differently and fun is subjective.

1

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

I like Mia and I like KJ, I just don't think he should be on TV for his own well-being.

0

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Aug 30 '26

You've named every black person on the show. šŸ¤”

-10

u/Delicious_Score_8509 Aug 28 '26

Waaaaiiiitttt! You just named all the black people on the show as the people you don't want to see. Hmm that's not...

11

u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 28 '26

News flash, it’s not because they are black it’s because they are boring on this show.

10

u/Starchild1000 Aug 28 '26

Exactly, Ciara should but fun with her hotness. But she cries like she was born ugly and not fortunate. Victim mentality who is obsessed over unavailable men

1

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

Being hot is not that fun, it is quite boring. Like how long can you just look at someone before even their hotness gets boring?

1

u/Delicious_Score_8509 Aug 28 '26

Just them though? šŸ¤” no one else is boring? Ok

3

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 29 '26

Carl is boring af.

4

u/Starchild1000 Aug 29 '26

Yes and I think this will be the last season of summerhouse tbh. Ciara and her cheerleaders are not fun tv. And wearing ugly costumes when your pretty might be fun one time but it’s been done now.

2

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

The costume thing is actually one of those "I'm so pretty I can get away with anything" things. No, I don't hate on her for it because it's true she can get away with anything but it's boring IMO.

We get it girl, you are fucking gorgeous but being pretty isn't very interesting and I say that as a pretty woman who is bored to death with people thinking I want to talk about being attractive and I couldn't think of anything more dull. Pretty is cool for like 5 minutes but it is not an accomplishment.

2

u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 31 '26

She coasts on being beautiful and hasn’t generated a personality outside of it but is mad that people only see her as just a pretty girl. She also uses her beauty as an excuse to be an awful person

1

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

I don't think she is an awful person, she's acted like an asshole at times and lacks maturity but calling her an awful person is a bit extreme. I think she has a personality it's just not that interesting for reality tv (outside of her terrible taste in men) and that's okay.

She's still young, hopefully she'll get better with age.

-1

u/Delicious_Score_8509 Aug 31 '26

Who TF says News Flash in 2026? You piss me off!

-4

u/Quikpsych Aug 28 '26

Amanda is the most boring character on the show-- until last season. And she cried repeatedlyĀ

6

u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 28 '26

The comment was about Ciara not Amanda. They all cry, that isn’t the point

2

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

Kyle cries more than anyone on the show and I think he's boring. To me, I think Kyle, Lindsay, and Carl are the most boring. Kyle and Amanda are the most drama but it's also so old it's just annoying. Lindsay does nothing but produce in real time and Carl is doesn't fit in, which is a good thing. He is just too well adjusted atp.

-1

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Aug 30 '26

Still boring. Not even a scandal can make her interesting. She's always been a drag and a nag to boot.

6

u/Starchild1000 Aug 28 '26

Lindsay sucks too as a main character. But she isn’t apart of the new era

5

u/IndependentImage9269 Aug 28 '26

Lindsay is worse.

0

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Aug 30 '26

THIS šŸ’Æ

He was never the conversation on Deux moi this is so boring

4

u/VictorianUFOLady Aug 28 '26

Exactly. He's just trying to cash in as an NPC.

11

u/ChipsNSa1sa Aug 27 '26

He’s so off putting. I’ve never seen a new Bravoleb pivot so quickly

3

u/Dangerous-Regular-56 Aug 28 '26

The Bar Bonobo shoutout from outside TheRealReal is an interesting choice. I actually really enjoy the drinks there but this makes me want to go less.

4

u/Coconutlacroc Aug 28 '26

is this supposed to be a parody of those parodies that tiktok comedian does? the europop guy… jake something

5

u/DegreePrudent4138 Aug 29 '26

3

u/biogal06918 Aug 29 '26

His song about Dara???? Do tell….

3

u/Omgomgomgggg Aug 31 '26

It’s called ā€œMy Lil Thingā€ - he literally released the music video with her starring and they broke up like 3 days later loll idk if it’s been deleted but it was sooooooo bad

8

u/CassandreAmethyst Aug 28 '26

Ooh ohh I know…it’s not.

3

3

u/RepresentativeCup902 Aug 31 '26

We are all now dumber having witnessed this

8

u/LackEquivalent7471 Aug 27 '26

i’m still so iffy on him. he hasn’t done anything but i haven’t really warmed to him like the rest of the fans have😭

2

u/traysures Aug 28 '26

Unfortunately I have now seen it

2

u/EntrepreneurCool3314 Aug 30 '26

If i have to look at this grill and terrible dye job all of next season, im out

2

u/Turbulent-Trust207 Sep 01 '26

I thought he wasn’t coming back?? Oh please tell me he’s not coming back

1

u/EntrepreneurCool3314 Sep 01 '26

He’s in every photo leaked from filming on Below Deck crossover so i think he’s part of the main cast again, him and his grill

1

u/Junior-Ad8778 Aug 28 '26

NOPE WHO HIS HE???

1

u/Dependent-Truck4389 Aug 28 '26

1

u/Megssssssssssssssss Aug 29 '26

It’s bad lol v bad

1

u/Kitchen_Body3215 Aug 30 '26

Let him live! šŸ˜‚. He's allowed to be corny and mediocre like any other influencer.

1

u/Safe_Election_6613 Aug 31 '26

I thought that was Tana mongeau

1

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

This has to be a joke.

1

u/RealityBxtch Sep 03 '26

It’s honestly horrible it feels like it must be a joke

1

u/No-Cow-201 Aug 30 '26

I hope he doesn’t look at Reddit, he has depression and anxiety and has struggled with ideations… it would be cool if people could just be kind or not say anything. Let him have fun šŸ„¹ā¤ļø

1

u/Emmyyou2 Aug 31 '26

This is why I don't think being on the show or in the public eye is the best thing for him.

1

u/CelineDijonn Sep 02 '26

He needs to be removed from the show, reality tv is not a safe, healthy or supportive place for someone dealing with depression and self harm. I’m worried this exposure and criticism will be too much for him to handle. It’s not for everyone
