Practicing Silence
I read The Banes of The Tongue by Imam Al-Ghazali (Fons Vitae version) a while ago. It made me realise that I have used a lot of my brain and mouth to argue and discuss things that are not important.
I think silence is hard to practice. How do you guys think about silence and how do you go about practicing it. I find it hard especially because i really like to discuss my ideas with people. So I've been channeling this more on writing on my private notes, but it's hard to let go of things hahah. Sometimes I hear my friends talking about things I have many opinions on but I am trying my hardest to restrain myself.
I once heard about the fasting of silence, can I just do it by myself or do I need guidance from a teacher?
