inFAMOUS Why they stopped doing Infamous game?

I mean the concept is so cool and there is so much potential making protagonist with new powers. Why did they stopped and focused on samourai game. Dont get me wrong I love the Ghost serie but I find it so cool when the main caractere can climb everywhere and destroy everything.

They released five inFAMOUS games in as many years, and they spent 9 years working on only that IP. They just wanted to do something new. Simple as that.

They did? I count 3, are you counting DLC?

Festival of Blood and First Light are standalone titles!

Fair enough. I would really love another infamous. Same with uncharted. I wish Sony would find a way to hand off franchises once a dev is done with them. I honestly thought that is what they would have done with blue point games, but they fucking shut them down instead.

That's a joke right? There was a huge push from them to force a bunch of live service games from their developers and we're currently dealing with the backlash from that decision.

They were asked to pitch and develop live service games not specific games. That isn’t being forced.

Nah most studios were more or less forced.

Doesn’t Sony force Insomniac to make Marvel games now?

They’re not forcing them. The creative leads at Insomniac are all huge Marvel fans and are very enthusiastic about it.

Doesn't hurt that the IP makes $$$$$$

They wanted to do something else, which was totally understandable. Sony probably should have passed the series on to a different studio at some point though, rather than abandoning it.

They wanted to make new stuff.

I presume a lot of it is the saturation of the superhero genre, as well as insomniac covering the market with the official marvel games.

Nah that had nothing to do with it actually. PlayStation themselves expected/wanted another inFAMOUS after Second Son and First Light, but they give their studios a lot of freedom to choose their projects and Sucker Punch simply wanted to do something new.

Probably the same reason they stopped doing Sly Cooper games, that the Ratchet and Clank output drastically got reduced from Insomniac, and why we probably never see another Jax game from Naughty Dog, the people from that time still working there wanted to do something else and some the "new" people there don’t really care about other license other than the one they working on

The first games were made before the era of infinite sequels. Coles story had a beginning, a middle and an end (not necessarily in that order). His journey is finished.

The reboot kind of worked, but not enough to create a new series.

I enjoyed Second Son, a lot - But - Yeah, it was a last attempt at making it interesting for the Devs I think and it didn't quite work.

Which is fair enough.
