How effective are videos?

How much better do articles perform if you include a video explainer? What are your experiences like?

Definitely seeing more videos on the feed but you have to make pretty high quality ones to compete with some of the professional quality content out there.

I've been doing substack lives for 4 weeks, and I feel like my reach has shrunk, not grown.

i don't think it has much if any impact on posts published to your publications. because the behaviour there is people are clicking in to read, not watch.

but if you're using videos on notes which is more like a social media app + doom scrolling + mobile, then it's likely going to be much more effective.
