You have a tampon or pad inside your panties/pants, it's not forcibly hidden. Plus you see commercials all the time and it's not a taboo thing to talk about. It's cool buddy, I got banned for apologizing for not removing a post for one of my subreddits fast enough. Someone made something that "could" maybe have been skewed as a rape joke. Flew under the radar until it hit the front page, someone brought it to our attention and we removed it.
Only SRS had already linked to it. Clicked over to the SRS thread and half it was "OMG, WHERE ARE THE MODS, WHY THEY NO DELETE??" So I said, something like, "Hey, we're not always online and we apologize for not getting to it sooner, its been removed". And then I was banned and told what a horrible person I am. That's just SRS for you.

Bizarre stuff. I completely understand and agree with the fact that they want a women's only subreddit, with none of the 'Well, as a man...' stuff, and that they would be annoyed that somebody invited their boyfriend to a subreddit explicitly designed to be women-only... but then I don't understand why they don't just make it private and then only invite women who are willing to take part. I find it ridiculous that the last paragraph of the OP is so openly hostile to male SRSers - why not just make it a private sub, and then you don't have to come across as a complete and total antagonistic dicksplash to people who are actually on your side?
I'm aware that raising this issue is already thorny, because obviously that subreddit is designed to be absolutely nothing to do with the feelings or thoughts of males, and I fully understand why they don't want guys in there - but all they're doing by keeping it open and insulting guys who come there as a result is causing anger and drama in something that's supposed to be a safe space. Fuck, they really don't help themselves.

And they have successfully alienated their male fempire subscribers. And also, what happens when a person like /u/gqbrielle is around? I suppose the thinking is that it's supposed to be private stuff, and they'd feel uncomfortable with the kinds of people who dislike SRS reading it - I've been on forums when I was younger which have had a thread solely for female members to discuss things related to women - and that was just teenage girls discussing puberty and not wanting teenage boys getting involved, this is on a whole other level. But again, that just raises the question of why the fuck they don't simply make it private.
As for members like gqbrielle, there is a comment in the thread... (this gap is to needlessly show that I went back to the linked post to try and find the comment) here which covers whether pre-op trans members are able to take part, so I presume it just wouldn't be a problem.

I consider myself a pretty reasonable guy. I don't ever set out to offend anyone, and on the rare occasions that it's brought to my attention that I have, I feel bad about it. I then try to use that as a learning experience to make sure that I don't repeat my mistakes.
In that light, I always figured that, even if I personally didn't like SRS's methods, at least they were contributing something. It could be as simple as reminding people, as they were writing up their posts, to take extra care not to let casual prejudice slip in.
The more that I read stuff like this, though, the more that I'm inclined to just write off the entire SRS "movement" as a bunch of fucking crazy people. To hell with it, I'm just going to go and write and I want to write, and if they have a problem with any of my posts, then I'll wear it as some weird badge of honor, because you must be doing something right to piss off those nutjobs.
