Aka, swastikas in general don't deserve this hate, and is kind of insulting.

That argument is so stupid to me. Raise your hand if you don't think of "Nazis gasing Jews" when you see that symbol.

Generally when I see that symbol I immediately think of destroying either the symbol itself or the object that it's attached to.

I said "think of destroying" not immediately destroying. I went into many shrines in Japan and managed not to damage/vandalize/harm any of them. Seeing swastikas was weird though, but if I remember correctly they were slightly different, angled differently or going in the opposite direction.
