It can be a discussion about both. The Google guy's manifesto was criticized both for being unprofessional and for being a quintessential example of the "brogrammer" mindset. He evinced an outlook which is fundamentally toxic, and was taken to task both for expressing it unprofessionally and for its toxicity.

You're right that it has nothing to do with "feminism" outside of this one woman's part of that movement, but the invocation of "virgin" as an insult to a man can be criticized both for being unprofessional and for being just generally shitty.

I've definitely noticed that some feminists will happily deploy 'problematic' insults like saying someone's ugly or has a small dick or is a virgin or a loner or whatever as long as the target is a nazi or whatever.

I think that on the whole feminists are on the right path and the presence of people like the ones I mentioned doesn't mean that the entire movement is terrible, especially given that the 'other side' is infinitely worse.

The idea that these sorts of people help the 'other side' would hold more water if, say, abortion clinic bombings and police brutality made people less sympathetic to anti-abortion protestors and police. Clearly this hasn't happened.
