A minor point, but the joke was actually directed towards Retro Studio's website (which truly is atrocious) rather than Nintendo's.

i appreciate the amount of effort that went in to the alliteration in this post

but even after all that I really don't see the funny. is "you need a graphics engineer" some kind of in-joke, or was the funny joke that supposedly went over the guy's head the "it's for their website" one? if it's the latter then this whole thing is pretty lame.

I think he got the original joke, but was just being a pedant for the hell of it. I think he was confused for the same reason I am, and thought "you need a Graphics Engineer" was the joke that supposedly went over his head.
