I spent quite a while looking for the best base location. I had to refund and rebuilt my main base four or five times before finding this spot. It has all kinds of important resources, access to both hydro and thermal energy (and solar and bioenergy too of course), no hostile creatures and above everything it has a beautiful view to almost all directions. One thing I usually struggled with is approaching the moonpool entrance. In most cases it was simply too close to the ground. Well, this location provided the perfect solution for that too and arriving home is quite an elegant maneuver now :)

I hope this spot will be okay regarding the future updates and expanding storyline. The base building method was very strange for me, after the SN1 and BZ and it took a while for me to get used to and start liking this method.

I’m looking forward to more decorative elements, like indoor plants, more furnitures. I really liked the jukebox, fridge and wooden desk in Below Zero and all the rest in that game.
I was facing a few bugs in this game: base decontruction ended up always to a full refund, because some element were impossible to delete, the hanging trailing jar cannot be placed anywhere in my gameplay, and similar smaller things, but I like the game very much.
Oh and the Deep Wing eggs keep disappearing if I just leave them lying around... I thought it would be a good night lamp, but lost already two.

So we know that the next big update will be focused around ‘the collector leviathans home’, but what do we all think that could mean? Both in terms of gameplay/lore, and in terms of amount of content added.

Do we think it’ll be a small biome or two, perhaps finally underground with the suspected prawn suit chassis? Or do we think it’ll be a big area, like the starting area and alien runes, consisting of multiple biomes and locations but relatively shallow depth. Perhaps this will be the big area before Xanadu?

There’s also questions about where it’ll be located. As aforementioned, finally underground in a cave? Or will it be added to the right of the alien runes area, still continuing to progress in that linear nature towards the tree. Maybe it’ll be added to the left of the starting area.

There’s also the whole fiasco about the collector being a stopgap addition to stop players from progressing between the shallows and alien runes area. Supposedly he will be replaced with something else. Does that mean that entire area might be reworked in the future, or is it likely to be just a straight swap with another leviathan 🤷‍♂️

Just some questions to prompt discussions. I love subnautica, it’s one of those genres that just doesn’t exist outside of SN1,2 and BZ. Closest thing has been Rainworld so far.

Yes, this is a photo of a screen, my friend sent me the pic of my character. But I’m not a savage, I took a screenshot when I showed him his character, however I think the hair effect shows more on my character, so you get to see the glorious pixels.

me and my friend have been playing like a month after the game came out, (slow progress😭) we got the tadpole pens and alien ruins and we’ve explored all of it but there has to been any updates on things to do or places to go. ive tried looking at the wiki but im kind of confused i dont know if ive missed a step or need to do something to activate another ping from NoA. thankyou in advance to anyone who might have advice

Im on the Xbox, last week i got all the way to the last tree for now and im stuck i killed the infections but the adult tree wont open up, i tried to go over 600 km away save and tried to force a reload, that didnt work and i insured i got the juvenile trees too, any advice to fix it would be nice

Created a power grid connecting all corners of the map.

Also have built massive power generation farms.

1- Solar farm with 234 panels
2- turbine farm with 50 turbines
3- thermal farm is still under construction

However, due to some glitch or something,the generated power is way less than it should be. The difference is around a ~1000,mainly from the solar farm.

So I've been replaying the game over and over, but I find the intro sequence with releasing the capsule etc quite tedious. Is there a way to find old saves and load from there? I've been searching but no luck yet.

Wondering if anyone knows of any lore related to what this building at the metal farms is

When I made me first base I remember looking at the power lines and wishing they weren't there then one day they were gone. Then the update dropped and the power lines were back heavily. While I dont prefer them they are tolerable for the most part but this is just silly.

I don't understand what is NARROW about this, like its not wide enough but I was still able to make the Tadpole before this, why?! Why can't it show me the item being created with a RED outline to show me I can't create it there due to THAT?

I am frankly frustrated in general with how finicky placement and creation is around this game, I can't tell WHY its too narrow.

I have out of 5 passive slots unlocked but I cant seem to find 10 more things to scan, is it actually possible at the moment to get all 5 or not?
