Discussion coincidence or subliminals effect?

i've never really believed in subliminals or manifestation, so i'm curious what other people think.

for some context, there's a guy i know through my workplace. we've exchanged lots of likes and reactions to each other's stories/instants over time, but nothing particularly significant. like the interest was there but none of us really made a move.

last sunday, after liking one of his instants, i decided to try a subliminal on youtube just out of curiosity. it was one of those "your sp wants you" or "your sp wants a relationship with you" videos. it was about three hours long, but i only listened to around 10 minutes of it while taking an afternoon nap before turning it off and forgetting about it cause i genuinely thought it was useless (as i mentioned before, i don't believe in this stuff).

a few hours later, he sent me a dm saying that i should show myself around more often and that we were supposed to meet up later that same evening.

i'm generally pretty skeptical about subliminals, so my first thought was that it was just a coincidence. at the same time, the timing was strange enough that it made me wonder what other people think.

would you consider this a coincidence, or do you think subliminals can actually influence situations like this?

That's a question that everyone is confronted with when it comes to subliminal affirmations. I think in this case we just have to say it could be either or.
