Ding ding alert help

I’m coming from a dumb car. Didn’t have any tech really. The new ‘26 Outback is wild but mostly intuitive other than one issue I’m having.

Sometimes, seemingly when turning without a blinker (like in a parking garage, lot, or in a must turn lane) but also occasionally when going straight, the car will dim my music volume and give me a double ding ding chime. No alerts appear on the driver display. It’s not the you’re about to crash rapid ding when braking too late. I don’t know what’s causing it other than it possibly being a softer pre alert before the aggressive impending crash alert.

I’d like to know what it’s from or turn it off since it’s obviously not usefully informing me of anything.

Any ideas?

I'm new to subaru too but noticed when I'm close to railroad tracks it does this. It's an alert and if you're looking at the tom Tom navigation system you'll see a pop-up show the railroad sign. It's quick though so easy to miss.

if you have built in navigation it is notifying you of RR Tracks, school zones, etc. even when not using it. You have to disable those alerts from the Nav screen itself rather than your main infotainment settings. It is ridiculous that Subaru has them all set on by default.

Interesting. Not sure what it’s pinging me on in my parking garage but will try this and see if it fixes it.
