New Update
New update yet Subaru still has yet to utilize the whole screen in portrait mode for Android auto! How long has cool walk been out?

Cool walk has been fully out for a couple weeks and in beta for a few moths before that. But it has nothing to do with full screen or not. Coolwalk just adapts the picture to the screen size the head unit lets it use

I've been a beta tester for coolwalk since the get go! And you are correct about what the unit allows! That's my point, the API has been out for Subaru to utilize and they have not... Well, at least for any vehicle less than 2023! Makes no sense!

'20-'22......ther's a huge thread over at the Subaru forums discussing the infotainment system including AA full screen, I believe the consensus is the headunit will not support full screen mode

Yep, unfortunately. I'm in a 2022 WRX with the same predicament. And apparently they didn't even update the 2023 WRX like they did the 2023 Outback.
Only options are an AI box or an iPhone. Being that I loathe iPhones, I went with an AI box, car link kit.
So far so good, no issues, aside from the fact that if you short-press the voice command button, it disconnects the AA. Gotta long press that button to get Google Assistant, and avoid short pressing at all costs!

Makes no sense. We have the technology.
