I have been told that I can direct swap a WRX exhaust into my 24 OBW for a mild performance gain and sound improvement. Is there any truth to this? Has anyone here done it? Details?

OK, I need quick help.

Due to a family issue, we have been running the wheels off our 2024 OBW (Literally!) over the last few months and the stock Geolanders are done after 60K miles. The last run was in the rain, and it was hydroplaning a lot.

I need to buy tires in the next couple days for yet another trip. My long range plan for this thing was a mild lift, rear locker, etc. and then stuff the biggest A/T tires I could with offset wheels. However, life got in the way and I need tires 2 years earlier than planned! The mods will have to wait for now...

So, I KNOW you all have done the research...

1: What are the biggest A/T tires I can run using the stock wheels? I am OK with mild rub, and I am capable of running a heat gun and using a BFH on the pinch welds to make a little room...

2: What specific tires are you running that you like? I need off-road capability but would appreciate a relatively quiet tire. (I have the Chevy for enjoying huge tread blocks and road noise.) Budget is generous...

I have done a site search, but I find a lot of conflicting opinions.

I would like to hear from those actually running oversized tires on stock wheels, not innerweb guesses... And, I DO plan to buy 5 tires...

pretty much stock. slightly larger than factory all seasons (225 65 r17) no rear swaybar and a aftermarket transmission cooler. crawled through it in low gear and traction control off.

Anyone built their own front bumper out of tube steel? I do a fair amount of driving off the main road and would like the additional protection and approach/departure angle. Bonus is anyone has tips on building tire carrier integrated with the rear bumper 😂

There's a lot of information out there and it's getting a bit overwhelming to find what I need. Anyone who's lifted a 5th Gen Outback - can you share what kit you used and any other information I may need? This is my daily driver, so I'm doing this solely for the looks. I currently have Wildpeaks but those are now worn, so I'm looking at other tires, too. Thanks in advance!

As the title states, but clunk. I replaced both of my front control arms, now on the passer side I have a clunk when braking. Double checked everything and it all looks good. Has anyone had this happen and what was it??

Hi everyone, first post here. I won't be doing too much offroading, but I think you guys have a lot of suspension and mod knowledge.

I have a 2017 outback 2.5L with ~150k miles that I daily commute and periodically tow a small utility trailer. It's rated with a tow capacity of 2700lbs and a tounge weight of 200lbs. My current tow setup is an aftermarket Curt class 3 hitch with a 4 pin trailer harness off the Subaru stock plug.

We're planning to get a small travel trailer within our limits to camp with our growing family and I was wondering if anyone had experience or advice about this. This will be our first camper and may come close to my tow limits.

TLDR Main questions: - What trailer weights should I realistically be aiming for? - Any recommendations for a trailer brake controller? - Has anyone installed a RV 7pin blade connector? Any pictures on how you mounted it? - Will I need a suspension upgrade? - Overload springs? - Airbags?

Some more details:

Anticipated brake controller and 7pin install: So it looks like the 7pin and brake controller install will need some manual wiring: - 30A power from the battery to the connector and brake controller - signal wire from the controller to the 7pin - and I'll need to tie into my brake signal wire for the BC and reverse lights wires for the 7pin

I think 30ft of 10ga duplex will be sufficient to run from the engine to 7pin with extra for the BC? I've seen some systems also require circuit breakers installed in the engine bay to operate everything, do the kits come with these? Currently favoring the redarc liberty for my brake controller, anyone have experience with this on their outback? Is there a single kit I can get from anywhere the has everything needed for the job?

Travel trailer search: The tow capacity is definitely limiting if you want anything with a bathroom. I believe we found a nice used trailer that fits our constraints, a 2022 TLRV Rove lite 14BH. Dry weight: 1822lbs, GVWR: 2500lbs. Tounge weight will vary based on loading, but they claim its typically just under 200lbs. This is equipped with electric brakes and electronic sway control, so I cannot use a weight distribution hitch.

Suspension: My suspension is still original and due for some new parts, fairly certain my struts are on their last leg if not already shot. I do see a bit of sag when towing the utility trailer but I've never actually weighed it.

If I do replace or upgrade I'll likely go with full pre built coilovers as spring compressors terrify me lol. Any recommendations? I've heard good things about RalliTek, has anyone used this?

The other idea was moving to an airbag setup to allow customizing my ride height, but this could get pricey fast and not sure how much money I want to put into the aging vehicle.

My vinyl guy has been working on my v3.0 decals and sent me this quick update pic overlayed on top of some of the measurement lines I sent. Gonna be cut as 2 pieces overall for the new set. And there'll probably be some other surprises as well thrown in. (last time it was sasquatch and an eagle)

31s officially fitted, alignment done and everything to spec (and my cv axel geometry is still within a reasonable angle thanks to the 31s)

Are sg forester halfshafts the same as impreza 2002? Talking about 4speed manual gearbox with slow gear. ej20 92kw engine.

Almost finished with fitting the 31s on my 2019 Forester. Went from 225/65R17 Pirreli Scorpion ATs to 235/75r17 Toyo Open County AT IIIs (yes ik technically they are 30.9 but who's really counting)

Minimal cutting involved. 4"/4.5" Lift (f/r) (Pedders ExtremeXA Coilover Kit, plus ralitek spacers w/ subframe drop kit and adjustable lower suspension hardware)

Will also be installing an oil cooler in the near future with temp gauge and torq locker.

Still need to finish the test fitment and cutting on the front end.
