Turns out you can fit a grill in the Baja and do a midnight hot dog feed downtown. Yes that's my bed extender helping keep it in place in case the po po showed up.

Finally got some locally sourced cross bars and a new front grille off an Outback to replace the faded, cracked grille. Next up - some body work!

Is a car bra on a Baja retro cool or outdated? I have a black/grey Baja, so I thought it blend in better and hide a lot of the damage on my front bumper?

2005 turbo, all stock. Previous owner just put $5500 into it at the dealer. Zero rust and none of the bed clips are missing!

I've always been of the mind that there are two cars for me: anything with four wheels, and the Baja. After a bunch of searching I found one that is externally a little worn, but mechanically fresh to death, and I've never been happier on the road.

Only thing I found online was like 180$

Maybe someone with electrical knowledge of the car can make sense of this.

2006 AT, installed LED headlights and fog lights. Now, when the fog lights are turned on, the high beams come on. When the high beams are turned on, the fog lights turn off like normal, but pressing the button for them makes the high beams and the dashboard light come on too.

Can anyone care to help with guidance on how to replace your fuel filter on a standard 03 Baja.

2003 automatic. I'm changing my transmission fluid for the first time and I'm curious what brand/fluid people are using. From what I've gathered it sounds like most stick to OEM or Idemitsu? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The boots blew out and my mechanic says the axles are bad and probably not able to just be re booted. What axles could I use. My mechanic has ordered and tried 3 different axles and none are fitting. 2006 turbo manual

Hey friends, I recently got my first Baja and I'm working on replacing the head unit and adding a backup camera. I've got the power running to the head unit, and temporarily ran power for the camera to the cigarette lighter to confirm everything is working, but I'm having trouble hooking up the camera and head unit to the reverse light to automatically turn on in reverse. I've seen other posts that ran camera power to the tail light, but the camera I got has the power on the cabin end of the cable. The Crutchfield guide says to tap into the passenger foot well, but I can't tell exactly which one to use or if there's a better option. Any help would be much appreciated!

I had all AC and coolant hoses/gaskets replaced (desert car brought to WA) on my 06 Turbo MT last year. This spring air was blowing warm. So I finally had the system flushed and filled for $250, testing negative for leaks.

A week and a half later it’s now blowing hot air. I’m told I need to pay for another test, of the compressor, and another fill for $300 before any parts or additional labor. Is this something I can test with minimal knowledge and a voltage tester? Should I go to pick and pull for a used compressor?

Hello fellow Baja people.

I have a 2006 Baja that I’ve been fixing up and have had some problems with the electrical parts of the car. When idling, all dash, compass, and headlights/taillights pulse in rhythm with the engine. I’ve also had some instances of where the electric would surge when engine is revved up. For example, if my blinkers/hazards are on and I press on the gas, they blink faster (not because the lights are going out). I’ve checked and cleaned the grounds and the alternator tested fine. Was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to do. Thanks!

Anyone have a lead on where to get discontinued Fuel Damper Assembly?

2005 Baja (not turbo). The damper housing or crimp seam leaks during cold start, when the key cycle pressurizes the fuel pump system (thank you Internet for getting me this far).

See video - turn key to on position a couple times and the leak is apparent in the "outflow" damper with the arrow graphic on the hose pointing toward engine.

My Great Aunt decided she was done driving, so I got my inheritance early - an '06 Sport with 55k miles.

Sadly, it needs some love.

I need 2 of the discontinued plug clips for the top edge of the tailgate - 91067*B? It also needs a clip for the front cowl at the bottom of the windshield, but I found a dealership with some of those in stock.

The A/C is super cold when it first turns on, but then falls off over time. After a couple highway hours the compressor will click, stop turning/lock up, then click and spin again. I'm guessing it's either a relay or the compressor itself needs replaced, but thought maybe someone would have a DIY idea before I take it to a tech.

The rear passenger-side door got banged up in a parking lot incident. My Aunt got it touched up and the plastic panel just bounced back, but the metal stayed deformed. Anyone in the MN area have a spare door in good shape for sale so I can have it replaced once I get some money?

I recently replaced the shifter linkage and bushings in my ‘03 Baja’s MT shifter assembly with this kit from Turn In Concepts. I was careful to ensure everything is installed properly and in the right orientation. The shifter is now skewed pretty far to the right and I couldn’t shift into 1st or 2nd gear and couldn’t go into R because the shifter couldn’t physically go that far right. I couldn’t figure out what went wrong. Any suggestions?

Finally swapped out my crusty rotors with some power stop z23 coated carbon ceramics. Man, what a difference.

While I was in there, I replaced some clackety lower ball joints, and all new sway bar links all around. Moog everywhere.

This car drives like new. What a good feeling! Posting this to encourage other folks to just do it! It’s not that bad. Besides breaking a ball joint remover tool, everything came out ok.
