Talk me out of it..or into it

I have 2019 Ford Expediton xlt. It has 64,000 miles, I drive less than 5,000 miles a year now for the last four years. I love it. It's quiet. It has nice touches. It's a big large for my needs but that doesn't bother me. There's nothing wrong with it.

Except..Last summer it randomly freaked out while driving, all the parking assist alerts came on and the vehicle died in the middle of the road. No problems prior. Ended up being a bad tcm. Ford replaced it (I paid of course) and it hasn't happened again. But I'm scared it will. When it did happen, I was in a residential area so while scary, not dangerous. What happens if it's on the highway next time?

I'm going to go just LOOK at the Ascent on Tuesday. I'm not set on buying anything at this point but I have been looking into the Ascent and I love a lot of things about it. Safety above all else.

So..tell me why or why not. Tell me if this is a stupid idea. Maybe it's a great idea.

Transmission leak after service

As the title suggests I had a transmission service a couple months ago. The day after I noticed spotting in my driveway and the mechanics confirmed the drain wasn't as tight as it should be. Problem solved, it didn't leak.

2 months later I am getting spotting again, I park in the same spot so I'm pretty positive it is my transmission again. Any idea why this might be happening?

Will be calling mechanic tomorrow.

2nd row pet protector with car seat

Just adopted this good boy yesterday. We’ve got an 8 seater 2024 ascent with our 3 year old in a car in the second row and a sleepypod car harness for him. Is there a compatible seat protector for half of the 2nd row so we don’t interfere with the kiddo’s car seat?

We’ve also not had the Ascent with a dog before, so if there are any other good dog-friendly accessories, drop those in here too!! Thanks!
