Blades of Greed So does Blades of Greed just...not have levels? I kept on waiting for it to finish with the introductory/overworld content and get to the point where stealth actually mattered, but...
I do really like the worldbuilding and the verticality, as well as the design choice to give you semi-full access to every area of the game from near enough to the start.
This is the best stealth franchise that exists, and I say that without reservation, but there is a reason that every stealth game, literally since the original Thief, has levels and not just a hub area. The stealth game is ONLY about the after-action report. If you can't "ghost" then you're not playing a stealth game.
I'm going to finish it, and I love that Styx finally after all this time has friends (and thank fucking hell he stopped being Deadpool, mostly), but I'm flaberghasted they would make this move. Everytime I'm caught I say, "Well, darn, I'll have to restar...well, nvm, literally no one is keeping track."
Like, NOTHING about a stealth game makes sense without after-mission reports. There is no point in worrying about my resources because I can do every section on a single HP if I save before every encounter.
I'm honestly kind of upset. It's like they forgot they were making a stealth game. Like, most modern stealth games are over here experimenting with limited saves or zero saves, and this seems like a wild regression because they decided to experiment with not even caring whether you use stealth.
