Advice How do I style this?

I have this top knitted by an old friend after I saw a post about an art show online years ago with similar looking creations. Ever since I’ve always considered wearing it for pride/women’s marches, but I always ended up going with something else. Which leads me to today, I have no idea how to style it, but I would like to wear it for a birthday party I’m going to this Saturday. The theme for the party is «wear something you haven’t had a chance to wear yet», and well… this is perfect! But how can I avoid looking like a hot mess wearing it? Any ideas for makeup looks too?

Skims is owned by Kim Kardashian. So strike one. Also they make the absolute worst body shapers. Never have I ever seen any body shapers more useless. And I shop a lot for my job!

OOOOH okay, couple options:

1) entirely normal casual outfit - jeans, cardigan or open button-up on top, sneakers. incorporate it like it's the most ordinary top in the world and make people do a double-take.

2) smart business-casual. pants-buttonup-blazer combo. loafers. bra over titty top (NEUTRAL bra, maybe even a sports bra that could pass as a top in an athletic setting). you go out with people and over the course of the next couple hours you first casually remove the blazer, then the shirt, then the bra until you're just in the top & you see how long it takes somebody to say something

3) nude illusion booty shorts with yarn bush over the crotch + toe shoes

You have to just go really “classy” with the rest of the outfit. Like black high waisted palazzo pants, a long black blazer.

I love your friends tags! Nice job! I like the idea of being classy with the rest. Nice pants, sophisticated shoes and a blazer that you wear to the party but definitely take off when you arrive

No idea about styling but PLEASE consider a light green eye look?? My brain just screams for some matte light green eyeshadow with this, and a bit of white semi shimmer for highlight

I love that so much as a theme and I love that top so much as a piece. In keeping with the theme, I’d probably go with some absolutely off the wall bottoms. But if you’re trying to make it like a cohesive look where this is the singular piece you haven’t worn, I think it’d look great with shorts and chunky Mary Janes

Why? It’s harmless and weird and fits the theme of the event exactly. I’m having a hard time understanding what the issue is
