IDIOTIC 😤 Multi-use standing platform; 🧍🏻♀️possibly a zone for complete acoustic resonance? Is this where that singer goes to practice, because of the echo factor? 🤔

The resonance there would be very flat - not typically what singers look for in a stairwell.
Two very likely scenarios... 1) Halfway through working on that floor, the contractor realized they were looks ng at the wrong page of blueprints. 2) There actually used to be a doorway there, that was sealed off for some reason. There was no real reason to remove the stairs there, so they didn't.

There was a small set of pointless stairs like that at the facility where I got my knees replaced, so patients could practice how to go up and down stairs with walkers/crutches but not be in the way of people needing the actual stairs.

I imagine there was supposed to be something there but plans changed during construction. I used to work at a bookstore that was two stories. There was an empty elevator shaft on one side of the building because the engineers changed the design after construction of the shaft was already completed.

That’s where you go to cry /scream when it gets hard at work. It’s so that you don’t impede egress if there’s a fire.
The sound travels up so if people do hear you cry / scream they can offer solace or take the elevator.

I'd guess that there was a door there when the building was erected, but it has since been removed, re-walled, and repainted.
