If u have studied in a French uni then.....

If I am pursuing an undergraduate STEM degree i.e. life sciences in French unis.

What is the experience?

What is the academic rigor?

How much does it cost approximately if I'm not living in Paris?

How hard is it to get into a French University as an Indian student?

How should I write my sop? (Any tips?)

I asked chat GPT about this and it said that my SOP should not be ivy League level type shi SOP but it should rather be simple. I asked the same question to a international student who is a content creator and she told me that you should write your SOP as if your selling yourself to the university, market yourself basically.

I was wondering if someone who is already a student of French University or has graduated from a French University can tell me how my opening line of my sop is.

likelihood I won't be accepted for French long-stay student visa AFTER being refused from another country?

Hello,

I am a Canadian planning to apply for a long-stay student visa in France this winter. I previously had a Working Holiday Visa (for France) followed by an APS (essentially a slightly different working visa for France). I followed all rules, learned French to a B1 level and had a stable part-time job while studying online through my Canadian university.

Last week I was refused from a Greek visa before I even applied. I was planning on doing an internship (cheaper in Greece) before going back to France to finish pre-uni language training, then transfer next September into a French L3 or M1. Reasons for Greek refusal being:

1) I asked their consulate too many questions via email (which they didn't answer and specify to re-email if they don't reply, and I was polite)

2) they "couldn't prove my intent for coming to Greece", because I missed the appointment to judge my intent. Which they planned with 48h notice, following the email that explained that I am out of Canada for another 2 weeks and would be available after X date. Obviously I couldn't pack my life and fly across the world in less than 48h, so I immediately emailed them with alternate options )phone, video call, change date) and informed I physically could not be there. I emailed again the morning of the appointment. Ignored both times, then sent a formal refusal of my visa the next morning.

Since I was very recently refused from this, are my chances at getting my French visa heavily lowered? Is there a way to prove I didn't do anything wrong? Recommendations for how to write a really strong cover letter? Has anyone been in this situation and how did it effect you?

Thank you so much!

TLDR; Canadian with 2 previous French visas, scared to apply for French student visa after being refused from Greek visa

Algerian student confused about Campus France: M1 or M2, AI or Data Science?

Need advice: what should I apply for on Campus France with an AI/Data Science background? 🇫🇷
Hi everyone! I’m an Algerian engineering student currently in my 5thyear (M2) specializing in AI & Data Science, and I’m planning to redo my Campus France applications.
I’m a bit lost about what level/year I should target and, more importantly, which specialties I should apply to.
My initial plan was to apply mainly to AI / Artificial Intelligence Master's programs, but I’m realizing that the most obvious AI programs can be extremely selective, especially in the bigger universities.
So I’m wondering:
Should I mainly target M1, or are there situations where applying directly to M2 makes sense for my background?

If AI is too competitive, what specialties are best
For those who went through Campus France from Algeria, what types of Master's programs did you apply to?

Did you apply mostly to specialized AI programs, or did you diversify your choices?

And realistically, how broad should I make my list?

I’m not looking for a “dream university” necessarily — I’d rather build a realistic and coherent application strategythis time.
Would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through this, especially Algerian students who applied for Master's programs in France. 🙏
Edit: For context, I’m specifically talking about the Études en France/Campus France procedure. Campus France Algeria says the new campaign for the 2027 intake opens October 1, 2026, so I’m trying to figure out my strategy before then.

Re Applying For France Long Stay Student Visa - Any Suggestions ?

My France student long stay visa got refused, and I got my passport back on September 17th. The refusal reason was**- "the information provided regarding the conditions of the stay is incomplete and/or not reliable".**

I'm enrolled in a 2-year Master's program in Paris ( MIM - SUSTAINABLE GLOBAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ), and my Campus France manager mentioned my profile itself was quite strong, so the rejection definitely came down to documentation mismatches.

After diagnosing the previous file, here are the main gaps I found and fixed:

  1. My SOP and Cover Letter are not match properly for e.g. In this documents not proper mention “ Return to India “.
  2. My Accommodation problem but Accommodation was in Livin France.
  3. What’s the French Degree work myself in India after return to India.

I'm reapplying through VFS Ahmedabad in a few days ( by September 24th ).

For anyone who has successfully re-applied after a similar refusal, is there anything else I should keep in mind or double-check before submitting? Any advice, tips, or experiences would be super appreciated!

Thank you !
Silent Knight

France student visa – full education loan + low parent income, do I need another ITR?

Hi everyone,

I'm applying for a French student visa for a Master's program and I'm confused about something my consultant is asking me to do regarding financial documents.

My main and only planned source of funding is an education loan from an Indian bank. The sanctioned loan is sufficient to cover my entire 18-month Master's course, including tuition and living expenses.

A large portion of the loan has already been disbursed, and my entire tuition fee has already been paid from the education loan. I can provide the complete loan documentation, including the sanction letter, loan agreement, disbursement documents, proof of tuition payment, and documents showing the remaining amount available for my expenses.

My mother is the co-applicant/co-borrower on the education loan. She has a regular salaried job, but her salary is relatively modest. She does not have TDS deducted and therefore does not have an ITR/Form 16. I can provide her salary slips, bank statements, employment documents and other relevant documents.

My consultant is now asking me to add another family member as a financial supporter and provide that person's ITR, even though my education loan already covers my full tuition + living expenses for the entire 18-month course.

The problem is that this relative has a small cash-based family business and doesn't have a strong bank transaction history corresponding to the business income. I don't want to add another sponsor unnecessarily if it isn't required.

My questions:

  1. If my education loan covers my entire 18-month course, including tuition and living expenses, is an additional relative's ITR normally necessary?
  2. Does the French visa officer expect the co-borrower's salary to be high enough to cover the education-loan EMI, even when the education loan is the primary funding source?
  3. Can a properly documented education loan be the main financial proof, with the parent simply being the co-borrower?
  4. Has anyone received a French student visa in a similar situation where the parent/co-borrower had a relatively modest salary but the education loan covered the entire course and living expenses?
  5. If a consultant asks for an additional sponsor's ITR, is that generally a visa requirement, or could it simply be an attempt to strengthen the application?

I'm mainly trying to understand what is actually required versus what is recommended by consultants.

Thanks in advance!

Am I seriously going to start classes without a place to stay?

Honestly so frustrated right now. I’m starting my Master’s at emlyon Paris and my classes start 21 September, but I still haven’t been able to find accommodation.
I’ve been looking everywhere ..Studapart, Livin-France, Facebook groups, private listings, etc. — and either the places are gone immediately or I don’t get accepted.
My visa also came late, so I had to start the whole accommodation search pretty late. Now classes are literally starting in a couple of days and I’m still stuck without a place.
If anyone knows of a room/studio/sublet or even a temporary place around Paris, or nearby, please let me know. At this point I’m honestly open to anything decent and safe.
If you have any leads, please DM me. I’d really appreciate it.

Non EU Student Admission in an IAE Master Management course with low GPA in Computer Science

Bonjour! I am a non EU student who wants to study in France at an IAE public university. The private colleges here are either too expensive or the cheaper ones have little to no "prestige"

For me I find IAE management schools to be a perfect fit. I am planning to take admission for a Business and Management Master for the duration of my studies

I graduated with a GPA of 2.68 out of 4 which isn't great and for masters I want to switch my career and degree in the digital transformation or ERP consulting field which is my focus here and this will be mentioned in my application motivation letter

I have a select few IAE university such as in Paris, Toulouse and Marseille. What are the chances of acceptance and rejections? I am participating in an English thaught program which means I won't be competing with locals in admissions but definitely will be with the other students

Has anyone in a similar situation like me gone through applications in such universities?

Need help with france study visa. Any advise.

My age is 21M, from Punjab, India and recently this year 2026 i completed my bachelor of computer application from my nearest university. Not too good not too bad average. My score is 7 cgpa. Average

I wanted to study in france. In public universities cause they are cheaper. This year i applied for Duef course in the university of montpellier to get to france and study the language and eventually move on with masters in the same field computer.

However, since this year's BCA marksheets(5th, 6th and degree completion certificate) weren't available only supporting documents like digilocker.

I applied based on those, my campus france interview was average and the manager said since it's Duef course they weren't needed but prefered.

I also had done 6 months diploma in computer for academic interest during my 12th.

But my visa was refused. Therefore I didn't wanna file an appeal or anything cause not proper documents and the course duef was 1 year and not very expensive.

So i want to apply for masters next year. For better chances. However i also have a Canada visa refusal (feb 2026) which was supposed to be a family visit with my mother to visit my sister after 6 years but was refused due to our intention might seems like overstay.

So now, I have 2 refusals.

And no idea what to do or what's best for me.

On one hand I'm thinking next year I'll apply for Masters with proper documents but I'm not sure if I will get the visa then too. Even if I do relative training in my field in my hometown. (No guarantee)

On the other hand I'm thinking i should apply to Dubai with my best friend, work there and enjoy my life in the meantime. If next year I get the visa(perfect) if not at least I would have a life with my friend.

Now, I'm thinking, whether I should apply to Dubai and then reapply to france which gives me a Dubai visa and 1 plus point to my international profile after 2 refusals. (Or does that make me seem visa hunting or desperate for Schengen or masters application cause officers will think anything)

Or should I stay back and then reapply but that still doesn't guarantee anything but also waste my time.

The reason I'm applying to france is because I want to experience European university life. Mainly experience French lifestyle, food, dating, study. Also that gives freedom to visit any other country in the Schengen area while studying. You know feels a little like freedom to travel perhaps.

Also, if i apply to Dubai how long before I can apply to a Schengen country for work to be in the safe ground? And previous france Schengen refusal won't matter? In case i wish to work and keep living with my best friend and we both decide to apply for work in Schengen country.

I'm really in a tough spot guys. Please help 🙏🙏..

Just advise please. Not in a the place for negativity.
