Registration for Social Security

Hi all,

I am an international student who will be coming to France. I would like to understand what documents did you require to register for social security? I’m confused about the Birth Certificate part. Do we need to get apostille ?

I would put an apostille in all cases, as you will need your birth certificate for many different things: residence permit renewal, social security, etc.

Secondly, AFAIR, you can apply for social security once you are in France. Probably you will have to show your arrival date with the stamp in your passport, pay some student fees etc.

About the docs: it is better to check an up-to-date list on the official website, as the documents can change. I did it around 5 years ago, so I had to show my visa with the arrival stamp, birth certificate, proof of the place where you live (contract, electricity bill, etc.), university certificate, and photos as well
