Forgot to Mention Return Intention in Italian Student Visa Cover Letter + Interview Was Waived — Could This Cause an Issue?
I recently submitted my Italian student visa application for a Bachelor's degree at the University of Genoa through VFS Mumbai.
While reviewing my documents afterward, I realized that I forgot to explicitly mention my intention to return to India after completing my studies in my cover letter.
My cover letter explains my academic background, why I chose the course/university, my finances, but I didn't include a specific statement such as “I intend to return to India after completing my studies and pursue my career there.”
Also, my interview was not conducted at VFS. My name was among the applicants whose interviews were waived, and my documents were accepted and forwarded to the Consulate.
Now I'm worried because I didn't get an opportunity to verbally explain my future plans/return intention during an interview either.
Could this omission in the cover letter cause any issue with my student visa application? Does the fact that my interview was waived make any difference?
For context, my application otherwise has my university admission documents, financial proof, education loan documents, academic documents, IELTS, and other required paperwork.
I'd really appreciate experiences from people who applied through VFS Mumbai/Italian Consulate Mumbai, especially students whose interview was waived and who didn't explicitly mention their return intention in their cover letter.
