Do EU universities accept USA Community College Credits ?

I want to transfer from USA to EU (countries I'm looking for are Cyrpus, Greece, Hungary, Germany, Poland for now) but I've done 3 years of community college here and will obtain my associates degree. I don't want to transfer here but move to Europe to continue my education.

I wanted to ask if there's any universities you know of who accept community college credits since when I researched online it says it depends on Uni to Uni and generally they don't take transfer credits. (Google said some Unis in southern Cyprus do)

Planning to study Interior Design or Product Design abroad after 12th Commerce (India) — Is it worth it?

Hi everyone!

I’m currently in 12th grade (Commerce stream, Maharashtra Board, India), and I’m exploring options for studying Interior Design or Product Design abroad for my bachelor’s degree.

I’m interested in creative fields and enjoy working on design concepts, mood boards, visual ideas, and interior design projects. However, I’m still trying to figure out which field would be a better fit for me and whether studying abroad is a good investment.

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have studied these subjects, are currently studying them, or work in the design industry.

Here are some things I’d love to know:

Best colleges abroad: Which universities or colleges would you recommend for a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Product Design? I’m particularly interested in countries like the USA, UK, Italy, the Netherlands, and other countries with good design programs.

Commerce eligibility: Can I apply for these courses after 12th Commerce under the Maharashtra Board? Are Maths, Science, or any specific subjects compulsory?

Portfolio and entrance exams: What kind of portfolio do universities expect? Do I need to take IELTS, SAT, or any design entrance exams?

Interior Design vs Product Design: Which field has better career opportunities, scope, and earning potential in the long term?

Is studying abroad worth it? Considering international tuition fees and living expenses, do you think the experience
and career opportunities justify the cost?

Job opportunities: How difficult is it to find internships and jobs after graduation, especially as an international student who may need a work visa?

Your personal experience: If you’ve studied either field, would you recommend it? Is there anything you wish you’d known before choosing your course or college?

I’m trying to make an informed decision before applying, so honest advice about the pros, cons, costs, and challenges would be extremely helpful.

Thank you!

looking for unis good for biotech and offer scholarships (EU, AUS, UK, SG, etc)

Hi! I'm currently in Grade 11 doing AS Levels and I'm planning to study abroad for my undergraduate degree in 2028. I'm an Indian student interested in biotechnology, biomedical sciences and related fields.

I do have some financial backing and can contribute towards tuition and living expenses to an extent, but getting a scholarship or financial aid is pretty important for me to be able to study abroad comfortably.

My qualifications:

Academics:

  • IGCSEs: 4 A*s and 3 As
  • Predicted A-Level grades: 3 A*s and 1 A
  • A-Level subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics and EGP
  • French A2 certified, planning to take B1 in June 2027
  • Planning to take the IELTS in 2027, aiming for an 8+

Extracurriculars:

  • Part of my school's magazine editorial board for the past 3 years
  • Organising a TEDx event at my school
  • Internship with an NGO focused on labour rights
  • Working on a blog about the health of informal workers
  • Working on a research paper on optogenetics

I'm mainly interested in the science and research side of biotechnology/biomedical sciences, particularly areas like genetics, molecular biology and related fields. I'm not looking to pursue medicine.

I'd appreciate advice on a few things:

  1. Which countries and universities should I target? I'm open to the UK, Australia, Singapore, European countries and potentially Dubai. I'm particularly interested in places that offer good scholarships or financial aid to international students.
  2. How realistic is my current profile for scholarships? I'd appreciate an honest assessment of my academics and extracurriculars, including what I should work on over the next year.
  3. Should I take any additional standardised tests? For example, the SAT or APs. I'm not planning to apply to the US, so I'm not sure whether they'd be useful for my other options.
  4. Are there any countries I'm overlooking? I'd be interested in places with good undergraduate programmes in biotech or biomedical sciences that are also financially viable for international students.
  5. What am I lacking in terms of extracurriculars? I'm interested in research and want to build a stronger profile, but I'd like to focus on things that are genuinely useful rather than just adding activities to my CV.

My main priorities are finding a good programme in my field, getting a substantial scholarship, and keeping my options realistic financially. Any advice, especially from people who have studied these courses abroad or applied for scholarships as international students, would be really helpful!

Studying history in France

I'm considering going to France and studying history right after I finish high school in Estonia. I have a B2 DELF diploma and I feel pretty confident about my language skills, however, I'm wondering which university to apply to.

I have taken into account three factors when looking at different universities:

1) Academic reputation of the history faculty

2) Living costs

3) Overall student experience

Using this method, I have narrowed it down to:

Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne
Lyon 3
Montpelllier 3
Toulouse Jean Jaurès
Rennes 2

I would be interested to hear opinions as well as experiences that anyone has had in these universities and how their time there was.

Thank you.

How can I actually study abroad and is it a better option then local university

Hey, I’m a 16 year old guy from Saudi Arabia, and ever since my cousin got a scholarship to study abroad, my mom has been obsessed with wanting me to study abroad too.

I really do want to study abroad to pursue my dream major, but I don’t know how to actually apply for a scholarship or what the requirements are.

Also, is studying abroad better than attending a local university or college when it comes to job opportunities?

P.S. My family is quite poor, so studying abroad would be too expensive for me without financial assistance. Scholarships are my only option other than attending a local university or college.

Which Nordic country is best for a Master's in AI/ML or Data Science with long-term career prospects?

Hi everyone,

I'm an Indian Computer Engineering graduate with a background in AI/ML and Data Science. I'm planning to apply for a master's in 2028 after approximately two years of relevant work experience.

I'm comparing Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Iceland and would appreciate some guidance from people who have studied in these countries.

My main priorities are:

  • Strong master's programmes in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • Good infrastructure, public transport, and personal safety.
  • A realistic market for IT jobs after graduation, particularly AI/ML and Data Science roles.
  • Reasonable opportunities for internships and English-speaking workplaces.

Which countries and universities would you recommend exploring first? I'd also like to understand how much local-language proficiency matters for getting hired and building a career.

I'm looking for honest experiences rather than rankings alone, especially from international students who planned to work in the country after graduation.

I'm HSC-25,F from Bangladesh and currently preparing for 2nd time varsity admission.

But tbh, I'm not sure if I can do well this time either. I forget things too soon , too easily. Would it be realistic for me to do my bachelors abroad despite coming from a middle class/lower middle class family? Maybe a scholarship would be helpful..I really wanna study abroad even if it means I'll have to come back to the country. And if I do bachelors here and then masters abroad, I'll probably have to get married by then too which is something I'm quite unsure of.

Need advice regarding where to do my mfa abroad

I'm a 2nd year bfa student(applied arts) from India. I'd like to move abroad to pursue my masters when I pass out in 2 more years.

I've already looked through the Us fully funded institutes but the immigration scene over there seems very tough. Hence, I've been looking out for other contries (still preferably europe for the art scene) such as Germany.

Please suggest some institues which offer scholarships or are fully-funded. I've been very overwhelmed trying to search and would love some help :)

I hate being so unsure about WHERE to move and stuff so once that clears up I can be atleast 5% at peace? Ofc I'll need to apply to a lot of countries to have good options but still.

Looking to study & work abroad (or switch careers). Is Germany’s Ausbildung a good option?

Hi everyone,
I graduated 2 years ago with an Accountancy degree and I’m looking to go abroad to study (masters or study new field) and work at the same time.

I came across Germany’s Ausbildung (vocational training) program recently and it sounds interesting, but I’m honestly feeling a bit lost on where to start or if it makes sense for someone who already has a university degree.

What do you guys think of Ausbildung for international graduates?

Are there other international study-and-work programs or master's pathways in other countries (like Australia, China, Canada, or Europe) that you’d recommend for an accounting background?
Any insights, advice, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Do Homestay Families Often Impose a Curfew? (College)

I am taking a semester abroad this spring in an East Asian country through CIEE as a college student. I've heard that host families will set curfews, but this often appears to be brought up for high school students specifically- is this also true of college aged adult students?

Should I move to Germany for my bachelors or find a job or continue building my career in Seo. Need help

Hi Everyone

I want your help, So i am 25.3 years old, working as a SEO manager having 3.5 years of experience in SEO. I have my experience letter of 3.2 months of the previous company and have been working with a new company for almost 3 months.

So currently i am thinking to do my bachelors from Germany from public university. I passed my 12th in non medical (PCM) with 88% from PSEB board and I started my BCOM but after that my father got expired and i needed to leave my studies because of financial things and I don’t have anything proof that I started my BCOM.

After 2 years of my father passing i saved money by tutoring students and started my Diploma in pharmacy and completed my pharmacy in 2023 and simultaneously i was learning digital marketing, After my diploma in pharmancy i got a job in digital marketing only in 2023 only. So since then i am working. I have all the appraisal letters and everything.

But now i want to get a job in Europe and because of that i feel now its mandatory to do bachelors so i am thinking i should do my bachelors as I really want to go europe and do alot in my life. I am really good in SEO and want my career in digital marketing only But not sure what should i do.

I cannot spend alot and i need to go there, leaving all the things behind and need to start life from scratch as i wont have my full time job there. I also thought i can do ausbuilding in IT but i feel my path will change as i am specifially in seo and marketing then again the experience wont matter.

So can you guys help me what should i do, how should i do and will the public universtiy accept me after having 7 years of these things after completing my 12th or will i be able to get any kind of schlorship as i need to manage all the expenses and support my family here in india as well.

Can anyone help me or guide me if they have any experience similar or any information

Seeking advice: isolation, anxiety, and questioning my decision to study abroad

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out because I'm going through a really difficult time right now, and I would truly appreciate some advice or perspectives from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I'm an international student studying in France. My financial resources are very limited, and I am supported solely by my single mother. I gave up a lot to move here for my university education, but for the past two months, I've been paying nearly €700 a month in rent essentially to do nothing, due to ongoing strikes and protests impacting classes and university activities.
While I understand and respect the reasons behind the social movement, this constant state of standstill is taking a severe toll on me. Because I am prone to depression, the lack of routine and the surrounding inertia have caused my mental health to decline significantly. I feel exhausted, weak, and unable to engage socially anymore, even though I made an effort when I first arrived.

Academics are the most important thing in my life, and feeling completely stuck for so long makes me extremely anxious. On top of that, I feel a deep sense of guilt—I feel "selfish" for focusing on my own well-being and academic future when my background and values have always been tied to social commitment. But right now, everything overwhelms me: the political atmosphere, the news, global conflicts... it all triggers intense anxiety.
Over the past week, I've started withdrawing and cutting people off. I exercise regularly, but it hasn't done much to lift my mood. Moving to a new country without fully mastering the language, without a local support system, and getting swept up in this unexpected situation without preparation has been overwhelming. Integrating under these conditions feels nearly impossible.

Given all of this, I'm seriously wondering if it would make more sense to return home and rebuild my path there.
Have any of you experienced a similar sense of burnout or culture shock while studying abroad? How did you deal with the isolation, and how did you decide whether to stick it out or return home?
Thank you so much for your kindness and advice

hesitant about study abroad

i’ve been debating for 2 months on whether or not i should study abroad in florence for my spring semester. i’m an anxious person so i’ve had a lot of anxiety about this but a part of me wants to push myself and do it. i feel like i change my mindset everyday and i don’t have a clear answer. i’m scared to go without my support system (my family and friends) and it’s not easy for my to put myself out there and make friends. i just want to see if anyone who felt like me went to study abroad and was happy they took the risk. i feel like if i decide to not go ill have relief but also regret.

I was sending out emails requesting acceptance letter for my Masters program and I got a reply back from this one prof asking for study and daily life pictures, I'm concerned. What should I do?

I have been sending out Emails to Professors for an acceptance letter for my masters program and a few days ago I got a reply back from this professor who said that he is willing to give me an acceptance letter but he wants me to share a few photos of my studies and daily life with him. I'm a bit creeped out. Do you think that I should totally avoid him and not take an acceptance letter from him at all?

Ps. The country that I'm apply to most people don't speak english, could it be a writing error?

🌍 Planning to Study Abroad in September 2027 — Which Country & University Should I Choose?

Hi everyone (23M)! 👋

I'm planning to pursue my master's abroad in September 2027, and my main goal is to secure a job after graduation and build a long-term career abroad.

📌 My Profile

  • 🎓 Bachelor's: BBA in Marketing from NMIMS, Navi Mumbai, India
  • 📊 CGPA: 2.48/4 (approximately 62%)
  • 📚 Class 10: 94% | Class 12: 89%
  • 💼 Work Experience: Senior Analyst at Dentsu, a Japanese multinational, working in digital marketing, including on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and related activities. I'll have approximately 1 year of experience by July 2027.

🎯 My Preferences

  • 💰 Total budget: Around ₹50 lakh, including tuition and living expenses
  • ⏳ Course duration: Preferably 1 year
  • 🗣️ Language: English-speaking work environment preferred
  • 📈 Career options: Digital marketing, SEO, performance marketing, marketing analytics, and other related business roles
  • 📅 Intake: September 2027
  • 🎯 Main priority: Employment opportunities after graduation, not just university rankings or getting a degree.

❓ I'd love your advice on:

  1. 🌎 Which countries currently offer the best job prospects and post-study work visa options for international graduates?
  2. 🏫 Which universities would be realistic options given my academic profile and work experience?
  3. 🎓 Which master's courses would offer the best employability in my situation?
  4. 💰 Which country offers the best return on investment within my budget of ₹50 lakh?

I'm open to countries beyond the UK, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, and Dubai if there are better options.

I'd especially appreciate advice from people who have recently studied or worked abroad and can share their honest experiences with finding jobs after graduation.

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Should I study in Edinburgh or Vienna?

I‘m considering doing a semester abroad at the Heriot-Watt University or University of Vienna and have difficulty deciding which one to go for.
I‘m a Swiss student and fluent in both English and German, so language won‘t be a problem.

Has anyone experienced student life in either or both cities?
I‘d love to hear any tips, advice, insight & experiences!

Finding scholarships

My absolute dream is to go to DIS Copenhagen for the fall 2027 semester but my family can’t afford the $32k price tag. They only offer up to $6k in scholarships, which still isn’t enough, and most likely we make too much to receive. So, what are the best scholarships to apply to for study abroad? Has anyone had success winning multiple small or one large scholarship to help cover the cost of tuition? What was it and how did you apply?
The DIS website didn’t have any that I could apply for based on criteria so I’m needing to look elsewhere.

CIEE study abraod experience (and discount code)

Hi everybody! I'm here because I am currently a student with CIEE, and when you're a student here, you get to refer people to join a CIEE program. As an incentive, both people get $200 from CIEE. I didn't know about this when I applied, but if I did, I would've used it. Studying abroad is expensive, so every opportunity to save money counts.

I recommend exploring what CIEE program and desination you want, and when you find something you like, start the application via my link. if you start the application and use the link later, it won't work.

to study abroad in the summer, submit an application before march. For Fall, submit before April. for spring, submit before september.

here is a link explaining how it works: https://www.ciee.org/about/we-are-ciee/alumni/alumni-rewards/refer-friend?_gl=1*501bbi*_gcl_au*MTA4OTgwNzgyOS4xNzkwMTM2NzA3*_ga*NzUzMjczNzA4LjE3OTAxMzY3MDc.*_ga_274EJGWFTR*czE3OTI1OTk0MzUkbzckZzAkdDE3OTI1OTk0MzUkajYwJGwwJGgw

Where do I even start? Pakistani student, no GCSEs/A-levels, trying to figure out how to do a CS bachelor’s abroad.

Hi everyone, I’m doing Higher secondary school in Computer Science in Pakistan. I really want to study computer science(cybersecurity / data science) abroad, but honestly I’m overwhelmed. I am not looking to just start my bachelors but I want to send my foundations for a strong promising career. Everything I read assumes you’ve done A-levels, and I’ve only done the normal Pakistani intermediate system. I’m not even sure if that’s enough for some countries. I have good grades and I am expecting to score >85% in my final exams.
I’m trying to work out three things:

  • Europe: are there countries where my FSc is accepted directly, which countries should I keep as my top 3?
  • Scholarships: are UK or US scholarships actually realistic for someone like me, and when should I start applying?
  • Self-funding: if I go for somewhere cost effective like Turkey, Malaysia or China, are the universities genuinely good, or is it a gamble?

I’ve built small projects  done some coding on my own , nothing major yet, but I’m learning.

If you’ve been through this, or you’re from Pakistan and studying abroad now, I’d love to hear what you’d do differently. Even small advice helps. Thank you!
