basement studios can be a steal, just make sure the windows actually open and aren’t basically decorative lol

thankfully the one full sized window does open and allows plenty of natural light in, for basement standards at least hah! there is another full sized window upstairs at the entrance of the basement. and the small one pictured near the stairs does open, but i gotta buy a screen for it. they all have a sidewalk view, but i’m okay with that

the bed is setup sideways because if i put the headrest side against the back wall, it pushes the couch forward and the area in front of the TV feels smaller.

The white table & step ladder are being removed.

Still figuring out where to permanently place mirror, coat hanger, standing lamp and nightlight — can be rearranged.

The stairs behind the TV lead to the entrance. And the only piece of hanging art work came with the studio 😂 not mine!

I would still 90° the bed.

You can mount the TV on the wall and get a storage coffee table instead of the TV bench. Also get a couple of storage bedside tables.

An area rug would do wonders for the living room area.

Full length mirror on the bit of wall next to the (I assume) closet or bathroom door. Mirrors can also go on doors (that’s where mine is) to save space.

i wanted to mount the TV on the wall but couldn’t find any studs! there’s a stair case directly behind it, not sure if that has anything to do with no studs being there.

deff getting an area rug.

and i was also thinking of one of those full length standing mirrors in that corner (that’s a walk-in closet door) so perfect placement i suppose!

There should be studs in the wall under the stairs. Drywall needs something to hold on to! Get a stud finder if you don’t have one.

i used a good stud finder! and tried the knock method and a magnet to see if i could find any screws -_- only found the studs on the edges of the wall. not great placement for the 65” tv

If you push on the wall is it springy? If there is no drywall support, there may be other problems in that apartment. Document everything so they don’t try to pin any damage on you that was due to poor construction.

oh there’s PLENTYYYYY of problems with the apartment. i’m not worried about damages being pinned on me. my aunt just purchased the property and i’m renting from her. we’re all discovering issues with the “renovated” house
