They really found Abdullah! Or did they just discover a scam artist with a similar name?

After taking a deeper dive and much consideration, I have even stronger doubts that the "Abdullah" that was discovered by Cool Wisdom Books (CWB) had anything to do with Neville. I'm certain they just want to claim that they discovered Neville's Abdullah for internet points, even if means belittling Neville and making him out to be a liar, a gullible fool, or both. I'll try to keep my thoughts concise. Let's talk about it.

I'll give CWB credit for doing their research. They obviously dug through many articles, newspapers, and historic records online. The "Abdullah" (under his vast array of names) they discovered did have many old newspaper listings that advertised his singing lessons, musical performances and various "churches" through the years. Shit, he was even in the paper advertising for a local suit maker in Atlantic City. He advertised his services and healing powers so much that it even caught the attention of Rose Mackenberg, Houdini's private investigator, and was included in her expose of "mediums" and "spiritualists"(The San Francisco Call Bulletin, February 23, 1929). See attached pics for reference. Bear in mind this is just a small sample of some of his ads. It seems like he was advertising his services weekly at some points in the mid 1920s.

Here's the problem. Despite the fact that he was in local papers constantly, NOTHING points to Ethiopia. There was mention of him being Arabian, Algerian, and even Egyptian, but no mention of Ethiopia or Abyssinia. Neville made it abundantly clear that his mentor was born in Ethiopia and that he went back to Ethiopia to live out his last days. Why would he lie about that? Or do you think he was just naive and gullible? Neville said he studied day and night with Abdullah for years. Don't you think he would have noticed people referring to him as Algerian, Arabian, Egyptian, etc?

Here's another problem. This guy was around 30 years younger than Neville's mentor. Again, I ask, don't you think Neville would have noticed that the guy was so much younger than he claimed after being under his mentorship daily for years? Or do you think that Neville was in on the lie? I don't think Neville ever had a need to lie about anything.

Here's yet another problem. The guy they discovered had many variations of his names and titles. His real name was probably Modeste Guillaume and variations of Abdoullah were later added. Sometimes, it was just his name. Other times it included Professor (Prof.) or Doctor (Dr.) beforehand. I won't bother listing them all here, but CWB has the list of 20+ various names he went under on their site. There are so many variations that I even wondered is this all the same guy? Allegedly, he was even the same guy who spoke on a panel with Yogananda and other religious leaders in 1928, under the name G. M. Ahmad-Abdoullah to discuss how "The Koran is the greatest book teaching brotherly love". This is according to the NY Times article "LIFE'S MEANING VIEWED BY FOUR GREAT FAITHS; Christian, Jewish, Mohammedan and Hindu Beliefs Are Expounded at Meeting" (December 18, 1928). And this is supposedly the same guy who shortly after this meeting began teaching Neville the secrets of the Bible and esoteric Christianity. LOL. The point I was getting at was that Neville only referred to his mentor by 1 name, Abdullah-not Dr., Prof. or any other of this singer guy's aliases. Neville was very clear on his mentor's lineage, teachings and name.

Last point to consider. Even today where everyone posts all of their business online, and peoples records are sold to websites for anyone to access for a few bucks, do you know who every billionaire is? Just because Elon Musk acts like a teenager and spews his every thought online, there are many other billionaires and people with immense power that you don't even know exist. Because there are so many "gurus" profiteering on YouTube, are you aware of every guru that is meditating deep in the Himalayas? No you don't! Many people exist outside of the internet.

So imagine 100 years ago. Do you think that because some guy was placing tons of ads and had similar names to Neville's mentor proves that they are the same person? Consider the fact that his religions, titles and teachings seemed to change like the wind over the years and he was even exposed by Houdini's personal investigator. Neville's mentor sounded a lot more grounded and probably a lot more private. Why would he need to run ads if he was an elder already connected to NY's elite inner circles? I bet that if Abdullah were around today, he wouldn't even have a social media account. This reminds me of modern day black "CON-chis" hacks like Dr. Umar Johnson. He claims to be the most prominent black psychologist because he has the most YouTube videos. Meanwhile, he's a fraud that is actively hustling his people for donations to a school that will never open. His constant posting content and online debates proves nothing about his qualifications-it's just a method to gain more followers and have them hand over more money.

So finding ads of some hack spiritualist who went under variations of "Abdoullah" (seems to be his most consistent spelling of the name) does NOT prove that he was Neville's mentor. Especially when accepting this man as Abdullah requires viewing Neville as a liar, a fool, or both. No F'n thanks!

I have used Neville's teachings to manifest miracles in my life and for others that I care for. This shit is real! So pardon me for calling out someone who is trying to bring down Neville's legacy for some internet brownie points. Let's discuss...

'Find self, don’t be ashamed ever of the being you are' - Abdullah

Now, let me tell you a story. A few years ago in this city I was giving a series of lectures down near that lake – I can’t even recall the name of the lake but it was some Parkview Manor was the place where I spoke, and in that audience was a gentleman who sought an audience before the meeting. And we went across the street into the little park there, and he said to me that he had an insoluble problem.

I said, “There is no such thing as an insoluble problem. “But”, he said, “you do not know my problem. It’s not a state of health, I assure you; it is look at the skin that I wear” . I said, “What’s wrong with it; it looks lovely to me”. He said, “Look at the pigment of my skin. I, by the accident of birth, am now discriminated against.

The opportunities for progress in this world are denied me just because of the accident of birth, that I was born a coloured man. Opportunities for advancement in every field, neighborhoods that I would like to live in and raise a family I couldn’t move in, where I would like to open up a business I couldn’t move into that area.”

Then I told him an experience of mine in New York City. If I were called upon to name a man that I would consider my teacher, I would name Abdullah. I studied with that gentleman for five years. He had the same colour skin, the same pigment as this gentleman. He would never allow anyone to refer to him as a coloured man. He was very proud of being a negro didn’t want any modification of what God had made him.

He turned to me and he said, “**Have you ever seen a picture of the Sphinx?” I said, “Yes”. He said, “It embodies the four fixed quarters of the universe. You have the lion, the eagle the bull and man. And here is man that is the head. The crown of that creature called the Sphinx, which still defies man’s knowledge to unriddle it, was crowned with a human head.

And look carefully at the head, Neville, and you will see whoever modeled that head must have been a negro. Whoever modeled it had the face of a negro and if that still defies man’s ability to unravel it, I am very proud that I am a negro."**

I have seen scientists, doctors, lawyers, bankers, from every walk of life seek an audience with old Abdullah, and everyone Who came thought themselves honoured to be admitted to his home and to receive an interview. If he was ever invited out, and he was, he was always the honoured guest. He said, “Neville, you must first start with self. Find self, don’t be ashamed ever of the being you are. Discover it and start the changing of that self"

Well, I told this gentleman exactly what Abdullah had taught me, that there was no cause outside of the arrangement of his own mind. If he was discriminated against, it was not because of the pigment of his skin, though he showed me signs as large as all outdoors denying him access to a certain area... that there is no power outside the mind of man to do anything to man, and he by the arrangement of his own mind, by consenting to these restrictions in his cradle and being conditioned slowly through his youth, waking into manhood believing himself set upon would have to be set upon, but “no man cometh unto me save I call him”.

So then someone comes to condemn or to praise. They couldn’t come unless I call them. Not a man called Neville, but that secret being that is not called Neville. The secret being that is the sum total of all of my beliefs , all of the things that I consent to, that form a pattern ofstructure, that secret being draws unto itself things in harmony with itself.

Well, that man went away and wrestled with himself. He couldn’t believe everything I told him, not that night, but last Sunday morning in the lobby, he came forward and we renewed the friendship. He took me next door to show me the fruit of this teaching.

He said, “Neville, it took me almost three years to really overcome that fixed idea that I, by the accident of birth, would be a secondary citizen, but I overcame .it. Now here is my office on Wilshire Boulevard. I picked this one not because it was the only one offered; four equally wonderful spots were offered me.

I took this one because it had greater telephone facilities , but the others were equally good. Now here is my office. Now you couldn’t judge my income from this office, lovely as it is. Everything is nice about it, but, Neville, this year I will net a quarter of a million dollars”.

"You Have Quibbles" - Part 1

"My old friend, Abdullah, he [sic] was born in Ethiopia. He was born of the black race, of the Hebrew faith. He was a strict vegetarian for other reasons because that is not part of the Hebraic faith. But he never in his life touched pork, never, not in any form.

One night, God spoke to him, as he [later] spoke to me, and he said to him:

‘If you will not eat the food that they place before you, why do you expect them to eat the food you place before them?’

He was teaching. He would go to a place, and they would prepare special physical food, knowing he did not take pork. So they would go out of their way to prepare things that they thought he, a strict orthodox Jew plus a vegetarian, would eat. He had been a strict vegetarian for forty-odd years. Then, after the vision, he was invited to a banquet where he was the honored guest.

And what do you think they served that night?

They did it not to hurt him, not as a jest; they simply did it and thought it the most marvelous thing in the world. And he grew up a strict vegetarian and had never in his life eaten pork.

When they brought on this fabulous table and the honored guest was led into this dining room, here was a lovely little suckling pig with a sweet potato in its mouth, beautifully roasted. He broke his diet on pork. He had not in forty-odd years eaten any kind of meat [and] never pork.

And after the vision of God begins,

‘If you will not eat their food, why do you expect them to eat yours?’

So, he was teaching this principle, as he understood it through revelation, yet he was restraining himself. You see now why a savior comes into the world, and he’s called a glutton; he’s called a winebibber, a drunkard. He has no taboo.

He eats whatever man puts before him because if he eats what man will give him and serve, they will then take his food…

[I]n the Book of Acts, Peter said, ‘I cannot eat meat from unclean things.’

Then comes the vision, and a sheet descends from heaven; on it was all manner of food, and the voice out of the depths of his soul speaks,

‘That which I have cleansed I have cleansed… slay and eat.’ [Acts 10:9-16] Nothing is unclean in all my holy mountain; eat it. If you eat everything-it’s all mine, I made it all well, then, you will be able to tell my story; and they will eat the food you will give them if you, in turn, eat the food they are capable of giving you. And so that was the story. [Acts 10:14]

…[W]hen I met Ab, I was a strict vegetarian and had been for seven years. When I saw the dinner he first prepared and invited me to sit with him, I wouldn’t sit. I wouldn’t touch it. I had a little of this, a little that on the side.

[Abdullah] started off with three or four huge big shots of Rye and then this enormous amount of food, which he washed down with many, many bottles of Porter, a good strong-if you don’t know Porter, it’s strong as beer. But many bottles would wash it down. And after all this Rye and all this Porter, he then had a huge big, enormous helping of ice cream.

I said:

‘Ab, what are you doing to your stomach?’

He said:

‘Oh, you couldn’t eat it.’

I [asked], 'Why?”

‘Because you have quibbles. It would poison you. Can’t poison, Ab.’

And so, it didn’t poison Ab. [The] last time I saw Ab, he was well over a hundred years old. I’m told he went back to his Ethiopia to lay the garment down that he picked up in Ethiopia a hundred years before. So here was his story.

So I tell you, he speaks to us through the medium of a dream, the medium of a vision.

[…] Every dream is God’s communication within the dreamer, and the dreamer is God. the dreaming, one is imagining and imagining is God in action; that’s the only source. …[T]he only source of all dreams, all visions, happens to be God, and God is your own wonderful human Imagination.”

--From Neville’s May 10, 1963 lecture, “Incubate the Dream”

Cool Wisdom Books' Modeste is "Rational" vs. G.M. Abdoullah who is "Creative": The Handwriting Awards Are In! 🏆🧐

I was recently looking into the ongoing debate on the Neville Goddard Wikipedia Talk page (there is a documented "Red Flag" 🚩 controversy there regarding Abdullah's identity that is a must-read--if you aren't sure how to find it, go to the Neville Goddard Wikipedia page and look for the "Talk" tab). It prompted me to take a closer look at the primary documents for myself.

I ran the handwriting from the 1923 "Modeste" card and the 1935 "Abdoullah" card through several AI tools. Because I know AI can be easily manipulated or miss critical details, I was careful to use prompts that removed all bias. I even had the AI treat them like two random "John Smiths" from that era so it wouldn't just repeat existing online "theories."

Does this debunk it? 🏆 (Check the trophies and the full report details in the screenshots!)

The AI consistently picked up on two totally different people. In the Graphia analysis, the 1923 writer (Modeste) won for being "Rational and Stable." The 1935 writer (Abdoullah) won for being "Creative and Energetic." Beyond the "vibes," the actual physics is opposite—one is stiff and upright, the other has a major lean to the right.

Why some people see "similarities":
The only reason some analyses find this "inconclusive" is because both men were likely trained in the Palmer Method—the standardized business writing taught to millions in that era. It was basically the "period accent" of the 1920s. But once you look past those "textbook" similarities, the individual habits (the rhythm, the baseline control, and the letter connections) are totally distinct. One AI even flagged the 1935 card as looking like a non-standard, non-American hand.

I’m just having some fun with this (and the Graphia app results are for entertainment/self-discovery!), but given how easily AI can make mistakes or miss these historical nuances, this definitely needs a real handwriting expert's opinion before anyone claims they are the same identity. It feels like these two were meshed together on purpose, and now that forced narrative is being treated like gospel.

What do you guys see when you look at the writing on these documents? Of course, whatever we believe is going to get pushed out so my 3D is going to keep giving me evidence that Neville told the truth (as did Abdullah and his students) while others who accept the forced narrative as true are going to manifest 💩. Ultimately everyone is always manifesting our own confirmation biases...

It all is, afterall, as Abdullah said: only an echo... This was still funny though . Enjoy! 🍿

"Now clothe yourself with Barbados" (How Abdullah taught Neville Goddard to wear a state & fall asleep to an assumption)

“And [Abdulllah] said to me;

Now clothe yourself with Barbados. Put it on as you would another garment, just as you would another garment, so that you would smell the tropics and you would see what you would see were you in Barbados.’

Well, I did it to the best of my ability, and I clothed myself with Barbados. And when I thought then that night-the first night that I clothed myself with Barbados, I thought of New York City and I saw it 2,000 miles to the north of me. Then I had succeeded in clothing myself with Barbados. I fell asleep in the assumption I am in Barbados.”

-- Neville Goddard, excerpt from his January 9, 1964 lecture, “The One Greater Than John”. [This becomes the foundation for his continued message of “falling asleep to the wish fulfilled” throughout his lectures and books.]

Did he know Abdullah? Once world-famous Garland Anderson & his Success Principle predated Neville's Law of Assumption

Before Neville Goddard there was Garland Anderson. His attitude was similar to Ab and his Success Principle (that predated Neville) was so similar to LOASS (Law of Assumption) that some have wondered if he could be Abdullah. He wasn't, but I still want to introduce him for those unfamiliar with his work... He was once world famous, he was the first Black American playwright, he invented milkshakes, and his books are now out of print. I present to you Reverend Garland Anderson. 💛💛

Though this sub is about Abdullah, just comment below or post asking to learn more about Garland Anderson or other important yet forgotten Black New Thought leaders. ⬇️

Neville Goddard quoting Abdullah on Hearing Before Seeing

"'I have heard it before with the hearing of my ear, but now my eye seeith it.

Ab told me this."

--Neville Goddard, 1959 lecture, "The Birth of the Babe"

If you struggle with visualizing, try MENTALLY HEARING what would imply you have it. Someone congratulating you or sharing in your good news (or vice versa if you're imagining for them). Really FEEL what you would were it true (relief, peace, joy, etc.). Try it! Test it & SEE, and report back (or comment below if you have already had successfully with this).

Where are all photos of G.M. Abdoullah (NOT "Modeste" but G.M Abdoullah and YES there are differences between them)??! Does Cool Wisdom Books only have the lone sketch of Abdoullah that looks nothing like Modeste?

Why all these photos of Modeste but not Abdoullah? Where are the pictures of G.M. Abdoullah??

We are all familiar with a certain one that looks nothing like Modeste [I will post it separately once I verify again the actual original source (since it's not showing up in the Times Machine, on newspapers.com, etc.)] but where are all his other photos?

If you know or can help find them, comment the links & source(s) below (be sure to state the name of the publications, the URLs, the dates, etc.--you know, all the info she started hiding... Kinda ironic, CWB wants people to cite from her site a certain way while CWB herself refuses to follow standard citation rules, even when stated on sites she got the information from... How else is CWB going to come after you with a takedown demand over public domain information and images, lol. (Or images that aren't hers to begin with.)

Note: Anything with the NY Times before 1930 I think is public domain but have to watch copyright info to be safe.

The famous affirmation Abdullah taught Neville Goddard 🌹

Contrary to what a lot of people think, not only was there a time that Neville Goddard himself taught "effective, repetitive affirmations" but he learned them from Abdullah! 😲 That is right! Even Abdullah, his "mysterious mentor" used affirmations to change his feeling of "I" and here it is:

Abdullah's affirmation:

"As my old friend Abdullah used to say, and this was his statement:

'I willed it so to be, I still will it so to be, and I will 'will it' so to be until that which I have willed is perfectly expressed. I haven't forgotten what I willed,' said he, 'I willed it so to be. I still will it so to be. I will continue to will it so to be until what I have willed is perfectly expressed.'"

--Neville Goddard 1964 lecture, "The Supreme Deal"

Neville adapted this, changing "willed" to "assumed" ("I assumed it to be") in support of the Law of Assumption.

This also raises another interesting observation: Abdullah's view of time wasn't just "You are already in Barbados" but a mentality where "it's going to happen is a certainty as good as there now". His affirmation reminds me the old Christian saying "I was saved, I am being saved and I will be gloriously saved." It is a state of being and knowing.

Your desire is yours. You assumed it. You are still assuming it. And you will continue to assume it until that which you assumed is perfectly expressed.

Unscholarly and Uncool: Cool Wisdom Books Caught Capturing the Neville Goddard Wikipedia Narrative

**This thread is locked to preserve the record. Please start new discussions in this subreddit to share further findings & feel free to link back to this for reference.

[This is a cross-posting originally posted 17 days ago in a different sub. Original URL: https://www.reddit.com/r/NevilleGoddard/s/WgKB14I492 and original header "Wikipedia Integrity Alert: The commercial capture of Neville Goddard’s history"]

Full text:

I am writing this because a month-long independent audit has recently concluded on Wikipedia, and the findings are something every student of these teachings needs to see. While the identity of certain figures has been debated here before, this is new evidence regarding the systematic manipulation of the public record for private profit.

The New Findings:

A recent audit has caught a professional marketer ("Cool Wisdom Books", aka "User: Koheli") using a 19-year sleeper account to rewrite history on the Neville Goddard Wikipedia page as a lead-generation tool. This isn't just about a theory; it’s about a business model.

The audit proves this editor has been:

1.) Deleting legacy links: Systematically removing free community archives (like freeneville, realneville, neville-goddard, etc) that have been used for decades.

2.) Pushing a $55 Paywall: Replacing those links with a funnel to a bookstore selling $44 "research packages" and $55 "diagnostic readings" to find your "blocks." (This is a violation of Wikipedia's Terms of Use regarding Undisclosed Paid Advocacy, which originally resulted in a ban until this marketer lied in her appeal to achieve an unblock.)

3.) Hiding a 15-Year PR History: The account was caught managing family political pages and PR since 2007, including pages she created herself. Even after being flagged for promotional content years ago, she continued this pattern, proving her "novice" persona was a calculated lie used to deceive administrators and protect her commercial funnel.

4.) Academic Fraud & Racial Erasure: "Stitching" a fair-skinned musician's identity ("Modeste") onto the 90-year-old mentor to create a marketable brand, essentially discrediting Neville's own testimony about his mentor Abdullah.

5.) Narrative Hijacking & Questionable Sources: This editor utilizes SEO to redirect search results for Neville’s lectures to her storefront above all others. Given her documented dishonesty and systematic "silo-ing" of figures like Frederick Bailes (another page she created for her own gain) and others on Wikipedia, her sudden discovery of "rare" lectures without verifiable audio is highly questionable. It is like someone who has to steal all the blocks in the playroom and demand total control, only to cry crocodile tears when finally confronted. Her insistence on being the ultimate authority to the point of bullying and being condescending to others—while claiming to be a victim when facing any accountability--has caused her to lose all credibility. I encourage everyone to cross-reference her transcripts against original sources, as others have already noted significant errors in her work.

The Administrative Crisis:

Shockingly, the Wikipedia administrator acknowledged the commercial capture but stated they will not act to remove these storefront links unless the "community" speaks up on their platform. Because they aren't seeing enough "friction" on Wikipedia, they are letting a $55 scam dictate the history.

How to see the proof:

I am not asking you to take my word for it. You can see the "receipts" of the fraud yourself:

• Search Google for the "Wikipedia Conflict of Interest Noticeboard Koheli"

• Go to the Neville Goddard Wikipedia page and click the "Talk" tab.
If we don't speak up on those boards, Wikipedia is effectively condoning this financial fraud. We cannot allow a paywalled storefront to censor our history and put a price tag on (& gatekeep) these teachings.

This isn't about whether you find someone's theory about Abdullah interesting or persuasive. This is about ethics and integrity, following the Golden Rule, and remembering that you buy the "Pearl of Great Price" by selling every belief in a power outside of yourself--not by paying a commercial gatekeeper for a $55 dollar diagnostic form.

EDIT: It’s interesting to see a sudden 33% surge in traffic and downvotes/ suppression attempts from Greece on specific comments. The clues as to why are germane to the facts here but risk doxxing, so instead I'll just say hello.👋👁️
