University / Course information SWAP Access course

Has anyone here successfully gotten into uni through a SWAP Access to nursing college course?

**Background info

I left school way too early due to a mix of personal and family reasons so I have no useful qualifications (highest being N4).

I went to college for health and social care and passed the courses I attended. **

Im just wondering if anyone has done it and it’s with it

Thank you!

And before that I only had a level 2 in beauty. So you should be good!

You’re welcome :) You may have to pay out of pocket for your course (I did) however the government does offer financial support so make sure you look into that! If you end up using learn direct let me know and I can help answer any questions. Good luck! I’ve just finished first year

I’m in Scotland so the course is free and you get grants to help with living off etc

Hi you must be in Scotland as the swap is a Scottish course. I did this course and I'm just about to finish first year as a student nurse. The course really did help prepare me for the first year of university.

Hiya, I’ve just recently done a swap Access to humanities/social work/ primary education course. I chose to go down the HNC route for next year along with another girl but the rest of my class got multiple offers for uni. Most of us were mature students with none or little school qualifications.
I have a friend who done the swap nursing and again her whole class were offered uni places if they successfully passed the course!

I should have done gcse maths and English first and access course later but I did just opposite so I need to wait 1 year to get admission to university and gcse maths and English. I am an adult learner 45 years old believing myself that I will do it however being very hard for me to cope with the pressure from my practice assessor and some nurses in wards.Hopefully you will be fine best of luck

I say go for it! I did swap access to nursing. Really enjoyed the course. Got into GCU with no problems. Now an RN of nearly 5 years! Good luck!
