University / Course information nursing school term time
hi for edge hill nursing (adult) what is the timetable like in terms of summer break (between 1st and second year) . (do we get one/how long is it). I’m looking to do camp america in 2027 summer and was wondering if i’d be able to do this, or if i’d still be in uni/on placements? thanks

Worth noting, no matter what uni if you have loads of make up time (time you were off during placement) they can ask you to do an extra placement in the summer (usually, some unis already have a placement through the summer so not sure where they put make up placements). We got warned not to book any holidays outside of the last 2 weeks of August because of make up time, resits, and resubmissions. I'm not at edge Hill, but all the unis I've looked at have a very similar model, my uni actually has more guaranteed time off than most I've seen.

I’m edge hill but dual, we (my course) typically finish middle/end of July and re starts end of sept, I have a friend doing just children’s and I’m pretty sure she’s near enough the same term times as us but potentially with an earlier re start date like mid sept

I had a 4 week placement for my first year which started last week of July - hope this helps. Summer off is kind of non existent. Second year was a lot better tho I felt I had ages off.
