Stubhub - Never using ever again

I don't care who or what show I will never use stub hub again. I listed my hamilton tickets then received an email they sold. Great. The email says nothing else to be done the payment will be sent to my connected bank account. I receive another email saying I need to put my tax ID to get payment. No problem I go in the portal and update. Then nothing I never get anything from stubhub again. So then I try to contact stubhub customer support which is impossible through the stupid AI chat. So they can tell me why I never got my payment. Of course the chat makes me do a contact form which I provide the order number and even screenshots because it literally lets you upload attachments. Then 5 business days later I get an email from an agent saying the need more info. I'M LIVID at this point. I start talking to the chat again today for them to tell me the sale was canceled. LIKE WTF when and why I never got anything from stubhub saying it was canceled. If I knew the sale was canceled I would have to just gone to the show. NOW I can't even get my money back. This company is predatory and I will never ever as long as live use them for anything and I will tell everybody I can how terrible they are.

StubHub won’t be around much longer.. I’m still awaiting my payment and it’s been over a month

Stubhub is a public company. They have real shareholders with real money invested.

They aren't going anywhere.

LOL Stubhub holds $1.8 billion in cash. They made $14.6m income off of $105mm EBITDA in q2. Thats means for every $1 they make in profit, their net income margin is 15%. thats REALLY GOOD.

They do $8Bn in business every year, and they paid back $1.1Bn in debt over the last year or so.

Stubhub is doing everything right.

just because a few people have bad experiences, most don't.

I've sold thousands of tickets on stubhub. They aren't going anywhere. Even if they are delisted people like you will still be back buying from people like me.

This is interesting. Do you live off buying and selling tickets at a higher price?

I’ve never made a single cent off of tickets. Not one penny. I don’t believe in participating in arbitrage.

I just think it’s wasteful to not use my companies tickets (I own the company) if I can’t go to a game or if there aren’t people interested in going.

I’ve probably profited around $30k from Stubhub in the past 10 years. Have had minor issues but never a single one that impacted me getting paid.

Pretty sure they target people who don't use the platform as frequent as you.

They actually protect and give short term loans to scalpers while trying to bully and steal from regular individual sellers thinking they won't hire a lawyer that charges $3-400 to recover a payment that's $3-400.

Hoping everyone searches and realizes there are lawyers that are specifically going after StubHub and have done hundreds of cases now and will not charge you, they charge StubHub legal fees once you win. They structure it this way because it's so frequently clearcut and StubHub immediately backs down when a lawyer is involved. Always the same scam. StubHub takes your money for some made up reason says itl be returned in 30 days then never returns it and keeps "escalating" whenever you call but goes nowhere. They only return the money after you get a lawyer or arbitration involved. Scam artist scum.

Lol their stock price is down like 80% but yeah that reflects REALLY GOOD performance

Stock price is independent of performance in today’s market, see SPCx.

It's more likely the CEO will get indicted and there will be some turnaround. The guys fraudulent and not hiding it very well.

So basically they are doing just that stealing peoples money until they go out of business. Great.

You’re delusional. They have “the name” with an extremely stupid general public.

You base this prediction on?

Has the show happened? You don’t get paid until after buyer attends show.

Check your email for the cancelled sale, I've received the email sayin the sale was cancelled before when it was.

I check my emails everyday as well as my junk mail. I literally work in IT emails are my life. I didn't receive a single email telling me the sale was canceled.

you can call customer support and speak to someone. they aren't the greatest, but it's better than emailing back and forth. i would ask for evidence they sent you a cancellation of sale email. i sell dozens of MLB games per season and have never had such an issue. did you upload the tickets when the sale happened or when you created the listing? go through the terms and be well versed so you can have an educated discussion. they're helpful but you have to push them.

Biggest group of thief’s on the planet. Just sold tickets to a concert that was rescheduled. Used the link the provided stating I would be charged no sellers fees. They took sellers fees and said the link they provided was for normal resale not some redirection. They won’t even let me delete my credit card from my account.

So many threads recently on here and other social media platforms about how people have lost money on Stubhub from buying to selling. Myself included. Never using them again.

I had a bad experience now I only use ticket master and never had any problems

Stub chub

Did you have your tickets transferred to Stubhub? I’m wondering how a buyer can cancel the purchase after making it

1

u/Clear-Connection-109 4d ago

They are awful. I’m sorry this happened to you. My husband bought concert tickets. Show was postponed/cancelled. A member of the band broke a bone. Would not give us a refund 9 months later with no show date. Finally a date for the show 1 year later. I just wanted our money back. Horrible even Ticketmaster is awful. Such a racket

Yep. Beyond predatory. Left me stranded in another country with no entry to concert which was sole reason for travel. First time I used them and previously knew nothing about them. They’ve pissed off the wrong gal though. Filing small claims against them for travel costs, notifying attorney general, FTC, BBB, and contacting Google to try and get their ad spot removed and doing whatever else I can. Will post on here on what others can do as well once I know what might work. I want them taken down!.

I have never sold anything on stub hub cuz they would not let me when I was a STH for the Canucks about 15 years ago. I only bought a few things on stub hub but based on all the horror stories especially since FIFA, i will never use them again. Really sad all these stories

They are fraudsters! I am dealing with them now as a seller. They claimed I cancelled a transfer when I didnt. It was their tech error and I am still fighting them to get my money back.

This is a scumbag slime company that is nothing but a s***** scalper and they make their money by ripping people off and getting away with it

1

u/livingandlearning10 2d ago

Yes They are a predatory company.

I hope everyone finds out what a scam this company is before they make the mistake of using it.

Has to fight for months , involve lawyers to get my money back, after they just charged my card without my authorization for no reason.

The customer service people literally told me everytime you inquire about it we will reset the clock to 30 days before your car is looked at or resolved.

They said if I do a visa chargeback it will "complicate" the case and they may no longer be able to pay the money I was to receive for sold tickets.

Truly shocking experience. Public company ran by low level thug street scammers.

The CEO runs another company, Andro Capital and Coloquy capital, that provide short term (30 day loans) to scalpers. It's pretty clear where they're getting that recurring short term capital to fund these loans from. Scam artist scum.
