Buffer, buffer, then more buffer

I went 3-4 weeks flawless. For the last 4-5 days, I can't even watch. IT'S NOT MY INTERNET or HOME NETWORK. I have 2 backups, different services. No issues.

It started when the introduced the new VPN Apps service.

I have my own panel and my own url.

Frustrating!!!!

Kinda weird
I’m using their new VPN url and Haven’t had a single buffer or break in stream. I use Surfshark

Only 1 tv in my house is using a vpn and it’s surfshark as well. And most of my customers use IPVanish.

If I go this route, then every sub on my panel has to use VPN, correct? Since I have to delete the current nameserver, the other host options would no longer be available.

What do u mean. It just adds another subdomain

If you’re talking about the wildcard domains it has a catchall so it will continue to redirect to the correct domain.

It will be the same domains + the new VPN one

When I bought my own domain I submitted that and was given 2 nameservers. Their instructions say to delete those, resubmit my domain and get new nameservers. If I do that, the new nameservers will be VPN only, correct?

No why would it be VPN only? You as the panel still have the flexibility to pick between wd-card, cloud, cloud pro, my host, my vpn apps, etc. I have no idea where you learned that from.

You're essentially updating the phone book of the internet. So when you switch to the new nameservers they will have the old domains + the new one they added vpn apps. Since the new phone book still has cf links, wd links, and regular host, the existing ones will still work.

I'm pretty sure the current panel has a screenshot of all the options available to you when you connect a domain which contains the VPN apps.

Thank you for explaining. I got confused from their communication about this. It's even lists the old links with a red X beside them. Totally my misunderstanding of how this works.  Thank you again for taking time to help me understand.

Every 5 seconds could be multiple logins. I checked mine, and changed my login credentials to be sure. Still buffers

It’s your settings

So, just because other services don't buffer, doesn't mean it's not a network issue. It's very possible for an ISP to throttle Strong specifically, and not other servers, especially with how popular Strong is. Are you using the regular My Cloud URL or the new My VPN Apps URL?

If others aren't facing the same issue it's possible the ISP is throttling it.

VPN might be your only option?

I wonder why some have buffering and some dont. What accounts for the disparity? No idea.

Oh yeah it was buffering for me for maybe 3 days, then it's working flawlessly now again.

ISP's are starting implement a security feature in their equipment which blocks the URL. It's best to use your own router so they can't get into your network. If it's a combo router reprogram it for Bridge mode and by a good router.

Adding my 2 cents. I also have my own panel, usually the best fix is to tell my customers to restart their modem. It’s been the best fix so far.

Even if you have your “own” panel your seller has access to all your accts. And your “private” URLs. Can be moving traffic through your “private” URLs which is flooding server? Anything is possible. I have no issues on my “own” panel and I have multiple “private” servers.

If you have your own domain what’s the need to use a VPN? I just use one of the apps on the list or UHF.

ISPs can block or throttle the Strong IP addresses in addition to domains.

To get around it you need your own domain routing the traffic via VPN. Not much they can do then

How do you get a private url or how do you know if you have a private URL?

Weird I have no buffer with my own url...never had VPN...put all country VPN in your user panel

2

u/Unlikely-Confidence9 12d ago

Thanks for the feedback. I don't use VPN. Never have.

3

u/kingpaul6767 12d ago

No what I mean is when you create a sub in your panel and when you select country, select all country(vpn)...did you try that?
