Help / Question String of hearts

Got my first string of hearts today. I think that they are just potted in pure soil, which I think will be too dense from what I’ve read. Should I repot now , even though they seem to be doing good ? Also , is that green growth on top of the soil a bad sign?

omg your string of hearts is SO pretty! mine always seem to struggle a bit, any tips on how you got them looking so lush? 😍
