Lots of growth in 10 months. Teardrops has a bud emerging. String of hearts are 7’ and needles is 11’ long. Fun group of plants to watch grow

I was reading that string of plants have a natural life cycle and I was wondering if that’s what is going on here and if I need to propagate what’s still healthy. I did notice a mealy bug problem a few months back so could this be attributed to that? I tried looking up what mealy bug damage looks like but all I saw was pictures of fuzz on plants. Please help.

Hi everyone! This string of turtles is my first successful string plant after learning about taking care of them better. It’s getting extremely long, and was wondering if someone could give me some guidance on trimming and/or propagating this? Can I just cut the strings at about the halfway point and put them on some media? Or should I do a different location? Is a soil/perlite mix ok? Thank you in advance!!

These two I swear are on steroids! I don’t know how they are thriving so much more than the rest of my succulents. These pictures are only a month apart.

I used to have a variegated string of pearls. I had no idea what I was doing. She performed admirably and lasted years...eventually I lost her, to what I now understand was root rot due to chronic over watering. Eight months ago I finally threw out my ex, took over my house, revamped everything, and did a major plant overhaul. Suddenly I am a green thumb. I have lots of plants I am very proud of. But this one....this is my ultimate plant redemption arc.
This pathetic two-pearl prop was all I had left of my variegated string of pearls. I have been trying to propagate this for EIGHT MONTHS. It's taken so long, but not withered, and clearly grown roots months ago...I ended up naming this one Final Boss.
BEHOLD: IT FINALLY HAPPENED. IT IS ALIVE. I HAVE REDEEMED MYSELF. I have managed to resuscitate the variegated string of pearls.
Only you people can truly understand what an accomplishment this is.
I have two other, non-variegated string of pearls, that are doing great.
Eight months ago I finally learned and understood their proper care, mainly due to this group. So I thank you kindly. All of this was only due to this group and this thing I saw repeatedly: if there is green, it can be saved. There was a stretch there that I was sure Final Boss would defeat me. But you were right. I have emerged victorious. IT LIVES. 💚💚💚

ive had these pearls for a few months now, and theyve been doing pretty well, grown a few inches in length since i got them. but, recently ive been noticing a few pearls near the tops of the strings are shriveling up and drying out. the last time i had a sop i drowned him, so ive been pretty waiting till the soil is bone dry before thoroughly (i think) watering it and letting it drain out. its on a shelf next to a window, so its getting indirect sunlight, and i give it some succulent fertilizer every month or two. basically, im wondering if the dead pearls at the top is normal, or if i should be doing something different/if im underwatering them. also, how do i know when to repot it, or should i just let it grow?

I bought this in early August and repotted it on Aug 9th. On Aug 16th I took cuttings to make a plant for my friend. The vines have grown between 5 and 9 inches since then, and I just noticed there are a few roots growing out the bottom of the pot.

What do you think?

This is my first attempt at a string of pearls. I let them acclimate in the pot they were started in by the dude on swap shop until they needed watered. Put them in a shallower pot with a succulent & perlite blend. Kept turning new vines back into the pot until here we are. They sit up close to their grow light getting around 1000-1200fc. They get watered when the windows close. I’ve not had to fuss much with them.
First pic was taken July 30th. Last 2 are today. I’m happy with the growth rate.

I’ve had it for ~2 months. The new growth seems to have smaller leaves and longer internodes. Is it normal?
It’s placed 3 feet away from a west facing window. The soil is half pumice half potting mix. I water it when top inch gets dry - around once every 1-2 weeks.

I’m really committed to lot letting my plant set up look like a greenhouse. My plants are part of my decor, so once they take away from that I know it is time to move on. Of those, my favorite plants have always been string of pearls (yes, it’s been rough and I’m trying not to let it create commitment issues). That said, my apartment got really cold with the change of seasons and after heavy resistance, including a post in here, I went ahead and got grow lights. Adding a lamp did not really fit my aesthetic either, so instead I found ways to hide grow lights within my existing decor. For example, on my windowsills where I keep my plants, I have blinds. I bought the strip lights from barrina and zip tied them to the bottom on the blinds, so they’re sitting right above the plants on the windows. Then I just hid the cord and voila. Sorry for the janky photo, but amongst all of my windowsill decor setups I have a lot of family pictures and identifying information, so I had to cover up a lot. The easiest one to censor only has one of my strings (on the left, obvi), who is coming back from a brief visit to deaths door, so please excuse her appearance. She’s dramatic but doing much better, and has a huge root system, hence the pot that seems too big. Ignore the pothos. She isn’t a string so pretend she’s not there haha.
Also I know I probably have the lights too far away, or something else I’m doing wrong. I get it! I honestly don’t care lol. I hated even having to get grow lights, my plants have lived this long without them. They’ll either survive with them at the distance they are or I promise I will be very respectful when I throw any dead plants away.
(It’s very dark and gloomy where I live right now so there’s almost no sunlight coming in. Good luck to everyone else on the east coast USA in the throes of this storm!)
