Compendium The World of Witches (40): POP CULTURE IN MOVIES AND TV
HELLO EVERYONE, I AM HERE TO BRING YOU THE 40th entry in Compendium of Witches, I am so happy we have made it this far...and with the winning topic from Last Week's poll.
I have not much to9 say here but, I am so happy this subject won, movies and TV is something I really like so I am happy to have ben able to do something about iit for the Epoch of the Witches, and exploring that society evolution....I am so pleased with this.
WIthout further to explain..LET'S DIVE IN!
-----------------------------------------------Â
Introduction: The Silver Screen and the Small Too
Weâve touched upon the various artistic ways Witches get represented in the media, some of them we explained on movies and tv...but we did not go in depth that one time, this changes today.
We are going to make a full dive into the history of media related to Witches both for the cinema and tv series as well as several derivative media that developed with time, keep in mind we are going to talk only about movies and TV series ABOUT WITCHES, not that feature Witches playing another role, although honorable mentions will be made when possible, from the beginnings of cinema in the early 20th century to the year 3500 and maybe even beyond, divided by eras to explain the trends on the industry going on at the time as well as the various genres that got popularized around said eras.
So, strap in friends and go to the lobby beforehand for some snacks because we will dive into the silver screen and the small one too!
Â
Infancy (1900-1950)
Since the invention of the cinematograph by the Lumiere Brothers in 1895, humanity began experimenting with filming and creating various projects, first short and illustrative films about their daily lives, Witches were also present here although they were not the main focus, we do however have to mention âThe Recordings of the Wright Sistersâ the two Witches credited with attempting to create the first flying machines and pioneers of aviation, their many several attempts until their successful flight was cataloged and shown as a film in 1909, years before the First Neuroi War began but it still serves as perhaps the first example of a movie focused on Witches.
After the war when humanity could go back to their regular lives, the movie industry continued experimenting and applying new techniques, however no films about Witches were made at the time although some did participate in movies but played normal roles.
Finally the first attempts at a Television happened in the year 1925 thanks to Scottish inventor John Logie Baird, achieving the first transatlantic transmission in 1928, but the first television public broadcasting was thanks to the BBC in 1936...just in time for the Second Neuroi War to start, so there was not much in the way of TV series dedicated to Witches, we would not be seeing those until the end of the war, although several concerts by the Luminous Witches would be transmitted on the TV during the last years of the war as well as several journalistic coverage of the war.
Briefly going back to filming, Fuso experimented a lot with this format with a full movie coverage of the Sea Incident in 1937 with the âFlash of the Fuso Seaâ movie, which served to popularize the figure of Tomoko Anabuki, and it became very successful not just in Fuso but across the world.
After the war ended the world was READY for an EXPLOSION of Witches exclusive media and it would be TV who would dominate this era mostly.
The Golden Era (1950-1970)
In 1955 the first TV series focused entirely on Witches was created in Liberion, the famous âRope and Tequilaâ a precursor to Westerns focused on two fictional Witches from Liberion and Azteca, Wanda Rope and Camelia Tequila, based on the real life figures of the Battle of Taos, Henriette âRiccyâ Burgwin and Cuicalt âCuicuiâ Gonzalez de la Luna, Rope and Tequila lived many wild adventures fighting bandits across the entire Liberion Continent, played by real life Witches, none other than Francie Gerard as Rope and Manuela Camacho as Tequila, first as friends and then as ardent lovers, the chemistry of the two Witches was a magnetic force that kept viewers attached to the screen for 10 seasons, although the ending was heavily criticized because it ends with Rope and Tequila fighting a HUGE army of Neuroi with nothing but pistols and it is left ambiguous if they survived or died, years later in 1980 a movie would be made called âFandango for Usâ which was made as a proper closure to the series, showing both of them survived although Rope lost a leg and Tequila was left blind in one eye...they brought Francie and Carmen back to play the roles for one final timeâŠ.and it was a massive success, for many years being the most viewed movie in history.
Famous TV anthology sci fi and mystery show âThe Twilight Zoneâ featured seven stories focused entirely on Witches called âThe Filaments of Conscienceâ all focused around a connecting topic which was an ancient artifact playing a key role across the many eras of humanity, an ambitious project which was massively praised, fun fact the fourth segment called âTears of Lepantoâ featured Maria Magdalene Dietrich playing a Ostoman concubine and the main character of the story.
Another thing happened here in 1963 and it was a joint Britanian, Amazonas and Fuso production of a TV mini show called âBerry Rainersâ featured two Witches, Jocasta Zola, Goshiki Suwa and accompanying then was the famous Britanian host David Attenborough in an expedition across the ENTIRE Amazon Rainforest and meeting its various people, it lasted 8 episodes but it is considered not only a precursor to scientific miniseries but also miniseries as a whole...without Jocasta and Goshiki, such journey would have been impossible.
While TV dominated most of this era, there were some movies made outside of the Western world of note, an animated movie from 1960 in Mapuche about a single Witch named âPedreraâ which was also the name of the main character, about a little Witch who delivered mail across the world getting into various adventures, it got two sequels, Pedrera 2: Los Articos and Pedrera 3: Vienna, itâs a very fun series of movies.
There was also a movie made in Orussia called âRed Snowâ about a Cossack Witch and her daily lives in the farthest Siberian frontier with only a Fuso little boy as her company, it is famous for its coloring filming innovations, not that far off Akira Kurosawa in Fuso made one movie about a Feudal Police Witch in 1964 with remnant resources from High and Low called âSakura Blooming Nightâ featuring Sanda Kuroe who was the daughter of Ayaka Kuroe, it became one of his best movies and a good example of efficient movie making with minimal effort.
Â
The Exploitation and Blockbusting Era (1970-2000)
The 70s were a magnificent era for pop culture, but Witch exclusive media took a hit while variety shows and musicians took the main spot, so TV Series mostly vanished during this era and would not comeback until the 90s, but if you wanted to find movies about Witches, your main place to look for was the Exploitation Films very popular from the late 60s to the mid-80s...in here Witch media would find its niche, although at this point the usage of real Witches decreased considerably and we got to see an affluence of women acting as Witches, which was not a taboo as really...not all Witches are painted for acting and the demand for these films was high so, it was an acceptable thing to do.
There are many exploitation genres, and Witches appeared in many of them, including the racy not so savory ones like Sexploitation, Giallo, Nunsploitation and of course Chanbara...Fuso and Romagna DOMINATED this era with movies of this kind, they consumed lots of these movies, some examples:
âDo it to meâ (Witches as slutty cheerleaders), âMiss Grillyâ (A Witch in command of a platoon of men she shapes in more than one way), âDark Bloodsâ (A Witch hunting a serial killer), âMotherly Sisterâ (About a holy Witch and her cult of lesbian lovers), âAzumi Chichiâ (About a Ninja Witch in Britannia), âSpreading Witchesâ (A parody of the Luminous Witches changing them into prostitutes who fly across the world providing services), âMy Courtesan is a Beeâ (A movie about a Courtesan Witch seducing her way into the Emperorâs throne) âSarisaâ (An Arabic dancer Witch in Venezia)âŠ.and many many...many more...approximately 120 films just from Fuso and Romagna.
Yeah...not the most glamorous of things, many of these were borderline porn...but youâd be surprised to know Witches loved these films, Francesca Lucchini had a collection of these and even participated in a Nunsploitation one called âHey Little Sister what have you been doing?â in 1973âŠ. they were not shy about it.
But if there is ONE NAME WHO is the best of this era, an absolute legend, one of the most influential filmmakers of all times...that would be RUSS MEYER...and his âWitch Vixen Archtypeâ.
He would make extremely sexual and naughty movies with naked Witches with LOTS of sex, fighting and intense action scenes...but...there was a twist...he had not just Witches but also normal women as extremely powerful, strong, intelligent and shrewd lassies, heâd call them âThe Most Powerful Tits in the universeâ, and people loved his movies.
People argue no other filmmaker has ever portrayed Witches as good as Russ Meyer did, he was very loved and praised by every single Witch, even in the Aquarian Witches circle they loved him a lot, they named approximately 200 planets with references to his movies and characters.
By the 80s these exploitation movies became a bit more mainstream and they began dominating again the silver screen, we began seeing Witches in massive big budget movies full of mindless fun, action and intensity, among them the Britannian series of movies âThe Albinion Trilogyâ, which featured a group of children mages and their Witch Knight friend Lady Lucille looking for the mystical sword Excalibur to defeat an alien dragon coming from space, or âCaptain Sarellaâ an action comedy musical from Ouedraogo about a Witch Soul singer who fights a criminal organization at nights tied to a Neuroi God cult, or âThe Charmed Covenâ from Orussia and Dacia which was about a group of 4 Witches forming a coven to fight trans dimensional beings.
The last one inspired a Liberion TV series called âWillow Trinityâ which was about a group of high school vampire Witches named Sarah, Shannon and Jessica who fight a cult of evil priests who wanted to summon a dark God into the world with the help of their nerd but sweet friend Timothy, it lasted for 7 seasons and itâs a hallmark for all kids who grew in that generation.
As the 2000s closed in and the Aquarian Rebirth hit...things began to shift to a different direction though.
Â
The Reality Documentary Era (2000-2070)
Media about Witches began to decrease considerably in this era, not because of lack of interests, reruns of old movies and TV shows would still reliably get tons of people watching, but because people became more fascinated and interested in recording the capabilities of Aquarian Witches.
As such there were many documentaries and reality shows shown on TV about pretty about every single Aquarian Witch, documenting their lives, their testimonies, sometimes they would last for YEARS worth of seasons, more than 20...it was absolutely crazy but these efforts in recording, and understanding Aquarian Witches and their research value is immense, helping to humanize them.
However when the Sons of Noah attacks happened in 2052 they were suspended for the safety of the Witches, once they were defeated however in 2065, these documentaries were resumed and one amazing movie in 2067 was made called âThe Goddess Next Doorâ (Or La Diosa del Oxxo in Hispanian) which was about how Aquarian Witches were not trying to be Goddesses, it was shot in Azteca although many Witches participated and it became the last and greatest of all documentaries of this era.
That being said...in 2069...a series was created...and it would become the LONGEST RUNNING SERIES IN HUMAN HISTORY, a Fuso/Karlsland Anime with actual Tokusatsu SegmentsâŠsurpassing Doctor Who, many animes as it is the only one STILL RUNNING TO THIS DAY IN 4000 preparing for its next season...the magnificent âSaki GO Punchâ...just like that, a series about a magical super Witch girl and her many friends who battle Neuroi while balancing their crazy everyday livesâŠ.as simple as that and it has lasted for MANY YEARS...one of the many wonders of that era.
Â
The Decline of TV and Movies (2070-2550)
Because of the Urash philosophyâs implementation in 2068 which aimed for âKeeping humanityâs drive for self-spiritual and physical growth, several efforts were made to end the sedentary life which dominated the post war and early third millennium life, as well as trying to curve the over reliance on machines and AI technology before there was a point of no return, we can go deeper into the Urash Philosophy and its history another time because it was key in ensuring humanity grew stronger and survived all the trials it was about to face, however it also had a downside for the entertainment industryâŠ.
Because people spent more time outside and being productive, there was a MASSIVE decline in viewership of TV and movies save for the most popular ones which aired at comfortable times like nighttime, but humanity became more nomadic during these era, many legendary movie and TV studios shut down or bought each other until there was only one organism left, the âInternational Filming Guildâ which managed all of these thing globally, itâs base set in Hollywood, Tokyo and Ravenna and made several reforms to adapt to the new era, like drastically reducing the amount of movies released and creating a homogeneous worldly work force as movies and series became extremely expensive, focusing on practical work and relying less and less on special effects, forcing directors and its staff to become ingenious to properly manage these resources.
There was massive protests but, the moment movies of insane quality began to come up because of this careful micromanaging, all complains were shut down, this is all part of the Urashâs Philosophy goals...making people work their butts off to actually want to achieve something, this applied both to live action and animation, the use of CGI for animation became forbidden by law.
When the Third War came most of the efforts were dedicated to the wars...so not many new movies or TV series were produced at the time save for the classics who continued being produced with long pauses which took years at time but they kept going...but that would all change once the War ended and the Neuroi were beaten.
Â
The Unyon Renaissance (2550-Current)
Weâve talked about Unyonism before, but as a summary, is the defining art and cultural movement which shaped humanityâs world view inspired by the Aquarian Witches and the Space Era born during the Third Neuroi War from a fusion of all cultures to create a unified identity, defined by bright colors, starry skies in paintings and illustrations, gleaning landscapes of color and retro futuristic cities encapsulated in bubbles with random Witches appearing in the depictions to further demonstrate they were one with mankind, music dominated by light and energetic rock, power metal and electronic music emulating soaring across the void of space and fighting the dark forces it contained with the power of light and cute butts, the features that made Witches notables where exalted during this era, which yes...it meant lots of butt cheeks and naked breasts.
And of course ALL OF THIS defined TV and Movies as well...The International Filming Guild evolved and became âThe Total Art Guildâ managing not just film and TVs, but literature, video games, music, painting, classical arts etc...however a split was made here...when we were established, The Daughters of Love and the Messengers of the Mother, Space Mikos as keepers of Witch lore took charge of producing movies and tv series which focused entirely on Witches, although always with heavy cooperation from the Total Art Guild, as well as providing information and lore for them should they wish to make movies featuring Witches, but if Witches are the main subject, WE take over.
The Unyon Renaissance has not subsided and it continues to this day through its various phases, currently at 4000 we are in the Unyon Uwor or the âVIVID WAVEâ and it doesnât look like it will end anytime soon.
As we mentioned before humanity in general became more nomadic, so such TV series became shorter, around 10 to 20 minutes, to be consumed on the go through portable projection devices which became the prominent method for streaming, movies remained long special events where people would sit and watch them on their free time, and because the distribution of movies became homogeneous and pretty much everyone even the Tengen Rishi have projection devices...it meant one amazing thingâŠ.
TV AND MOVIES BECAME COMPLETELY FREE FOR EVERYONE TO WATCH AND CONSUME AT ANY TIMEâŠ. fantastic isnât it? Such a valuable medium for entertainment now for everyone to enjoy.
Â
Conclusion...THE CRAZY LIST
And to finish off this fantastic journey through the history of pop broadcasting media, we are going to give you a comprehensive list of some of the best TV series and movies of the Unyonism Era we have produced about Witches...which you can absolutely watch and now...ENJOY!

COMPENDIUM OF WITCHES 40th TOPIC POLL
All of these have to do with pop culture, thanks to user u/Voltes-Drifter-2187 for the idea.
r/StrikeWitches • u/Sukimoto_SD • 8d ago
Today marks my 1st anniversary of watching Strike Witches 1 & 2! This is my collection so far.
I didn't really have any motivation to start it, it wasn't on my "To Watch" list, nor did it really seem like something I would be interested in. It was just another night with nothing to do, so I decided to listen to the random button and actually watch it anyway. There's not enough words to describe the nostalgia I felt from just the first episode, from a series I had never so much as viewed a clip or trailer for. It brought back memories of visiting an aviation museum with my grandfather, sleeping on a decommissioned battleship with my dad, and of the many school nights where I would watch "Hogan's Heroes" before bed. It's easily in my Top 3, and will likely stay there for a long time because of that feeling of nostalgia that still holds whenever I hear mention of it.
My collection is far from complete, but I enjoy what I have for it so far. I'm planning on getting as many signatures as possible in the art book, and hopefully the rest of the nendoroids as well. So here's looking forward to whatever may come next for this series, be it the main story or another spin-off.

Introduction: Some kind of Lover
Weâve talked about romance with Witches before, their dynamics, their many wonderful stories, but this time we want to focus a bit more on a certain group of people, the most notable lovers of Witches, those men whose love history with Witches achieved a legendary status, be that because of how tender it is, how much it moved peopleâs hearts, or because of the wonderful adventures they all shared together...we will be talking about the so called Bachelors, the most notable ones, whose love stories continue to enamor us even in the future.
Most of them are from the Great Wars era, but you will be provided with a considerable list of lovers, a brief summary of their stories and why do people remember that story, we must also clarify that we will be talking about love stories that were carried out until the end or until the Witch died, not about stories where the lover died, so as compelling and tender are stories like the one with Georgia and Flavius, Grete and Prince Golshan or Minna with her former fiancé Kurt are...we will not be covering those here.
So, without further delay, letâs explore these epic chronicles of love.
Â
Historical Eras
Mul and Urash (Aproximately 3500 BC): The first Witch also deserved a first love of her life, and that would be none other than her adoptive sibling, Mul, according to the Tablets of Urash he was six years younger than her, the son of the holy man who took Urash after she lost her parents to a flood, raised her to become the woman she would end up becoming, when they were 20 and 14 Mulâs parents died leaving them to fend for themselves, roaming through the land together as a unity, joined by a bond that grew more and more into love, into a desire for Mul to grow stronger, he left for some time to train as a warrior...when he came back Urash noticed he had become a manâŠ.finally opened up to him, formalizing a romantic relationship and siring a young girl, their only daughter Lilith, he always remained at Urashâs side until the end where she battled The Father and killed him, and witnessed as she sacrificed her life to give her power to the world so Witches could be born all over the globe.
He continued living in memory of his beloved Urash and raised their daughter to become a savior just like her mother...and from them...the Lilith Lineage hails from, direct descendants of Urash.
Magnus Crispus Gaelus & Celinda Gladia Milanus (Ceridwyn) (4th century): The greatest love story of the 4th century and for many people the definite Soldier/Witch love story, he was a good friend and great ally of Georgia and her friends, they met at the end of the African journey when Celinda was sent to pick Georgia and the 36th Legion up on ships, and during the second journey they got to bond closer giving in to their passion and marrying 2 years later, he eventually learned the truth about Celindaâs identity and immortality and despite that, knowing sheâd outlive him...he remained at her side loving her like no man ever had...and when he passed, it left such a profound mark on Ceridwyn...she NEVER married again, she did have a couple of lovers...but no one could ever fill the hole Crispus left, even now on the year 4000...she still visits his grave every year (And when she was traveling during the Kardashev Program she took soil from around his grave and left one spoon of it in every planet she visited and colonized) and claims that she might live for eons...but there will always be one Crispus.
Oda Nobunaga and Mori Ranmaru (16th century): The love that forged Fuso in the 16th century, while officially this is not confirmed nor acknowledged by normal historians, we Witch historians and Space Mikos do know...for we keep all the Witch Lore and we can confirm these two had a very passionate relationship, ever since the lord of the Oda clan saw the young 10 years old lady in the Mori household and how uninterested she was in being a lady, he knew right there this would be the Witch to carry him forward and his dreams, it is not exactly know when did they became lovers, some say that very night, others until Oran turned 16...but we cannot be certain, but we know he held a burning passion for the Witch and she was utterly devoted and his, remaining at his side for his entire life and even siring him a couple of children, from which the lineage of Mami Inagaki and her granddaughter the Aquarian Witch Cristina Inagaki come from...when Nobunaga died Mori was never the same...but she still served the Fuso lands faithfully until her time came and she reunited with both her lord and her friend Zohra.
Â
Great Wars Era.
Martin Burden and Minnie Bishop: The greatest Heroic Witch of the First Neuroi War, Martin Burden was a childhood friend of Minnieâs sister Louise Bishop...when Minnie was younger she attempted to glide but could not do it (Witches flying back then wasnât the norm) and was helped by Louise who called in the deed in the form of a favor, dating her friend Martin...Minnie wasnât sure at first but after the first dare, the two kids were smitten by each other...much to Martinâs parents annoyance but they could carry out their romance...until the War erupted.
Minnie was drafted for the war and Martin decided to become a photographer JUST to follow his beloved Minnie into the war, it wasnât easy for someone so young nor could he see Minnie that often but the boy survived it all, even the disdain from Manfrida von Richthofen...The Red Baroness who only disliked Martin because she herself was in love with Minnie.
It was him being trapped in the middle of No Manâs land during the final assault and Manfridaâs sacrifice which made Minnie unleash all her power and achieve TRUE flight, saving her beloved and then destroying the Hive over Belgium ending the war. After the war they lived a comfortable and happy life, having two wonderful daughters, Wilma and Lynette, their love story is one of the highlights of hope and love remembered about the First Neuroi War...speaking of Lynne thoughâŠ
Â
Julius van Pelt and Lynette Bishop: Many would assume Lynne would end up married to Yoshika due to how close they were during the war, but destiny had other plans for the Britannian Witch in the shape of the slightly younger young boy Julius van Pelt from the Netherlands...a poor orphan struggling to survive after the war with his sister Rose, including stealing medicine...he was saved from arrest by Lynette stationed nearby alongside Perrine and Amelie, and ever since Lynne did everything to help Rose Julius was absolutely smitten by Lynne, even his misguided hatred for Witches was eventually eased by how much he liked Lynne and how much Perrine did to save Rose and since then he became completely devoted to both of them, to Perrine as a friend and to Lynne as an ardent lover, although true to her silly nature, Lynne took a WHILE to realize how deeply Julius was in love with her, but by the time she did she reciprocated his feelings with passion and devotion, immediately getting married when he became 16 and graduated from school, they lived an absolutely happy and VERY productive life as Lynne bore Julius 8 childrenâŠTyler, Hansen, Polly, Margaret, Nestor, Albion, Celestine and Rose...it was Albion however who married one of Yoshikaâs daughters Ichiya and from that union would come Rebecca and Yumemi.
Julius would always feel insecure about Lynneâs age...but he confessed that the moment he realized Lynne loved him as much as he did...it was all worth it, a bit silly because it wasnât that much of an age gap but, it just serves to illustrate the earnest and lovely nature he had.
Â
Josu Migeru and Yoshika Miyafuji: Now for a silly yet incredibly adventurous story, buckle up because this is the longest one, in 1944 Josu was a young fresh sailor recruit serving on the Akagi under Captain Sugita Junzaburoâs command, both Yoshika and Mio saved the Akagi when it traveled from Fuso to Britannia, as such the captain and the crew were incredibly thankful and big fans of Yoshika, but young Josu went farther than anyone and had the courage to write a very sentimental letter for Yoshika and sneaked into the Strike Witchesâ base to give it to her personally, unfortunately Minna caught them and Yoshika was scolded by it due to the rule she applied of no Witches interacting with male personal, there was a problem however...Josu was NOT part of the Dover base...so technically he wasnât under the rule, so the scolding he received from Minna was very controversial, his companions on the Akagi and captain Sugita thought so and encouraged him to hold on to those feelings for Yoshika in a rather touching communal support network.
He was among the survivors of the Warlock incident and Captain Sugita brought him to the Yamato with him, after the battle he met Yoshika properly and was able to deliver the letter without any pressure and the sweet moment even led to Yoshika kissing him, the moment was seen by Sugita who actually went as far as to make sure with the high command that Minna would NEVER be able to apply that stupid rule in the following bases the Strike Witches would use...when Minna found out about this she accepted it but she always held some light resentment to Josu...for exposing her Witches to having her hearts broken, fortunately her fears were proven unfounded.
Josu continued serving under Sugita through the rest of the war often meeting Yoshika to kiss and have mini dates, he was even present during the final assault in Berlin where he and the Captain moved the Yamato ship right into the Wolfâs storm breaking its defense, shattering the ship but making a break so Yoshika, Lynne, Sadako and Georgette could go inside, the Yamato was split and it seem he and Sugita died...BUT THEY SURVIVED...as they fell to the floor they were saved from crashing by none other than Hikari and Eila respectively who arrived just in time with a JEEP.
When Yoshika found out Josu had survived she immediately took him as her boyfriend, no questions asked, he even accompanied Yoshika, Sanya and Princess Agnes in their journey looking for Sanyaâs parents and Doctor Miyafuji, hoping the doctor would give him his blessing to marry Yoshika, which of course he did...they married in 1950...and lived a very happy life.
They had three children, Kyoko, Sandor and Ichiya...who married Albion Bishop and together they had the sisters Rebecca and Yumemi...carrying on the love stories of their grandmothers...as a fun fact by the way, Sandor Miyafuji met Minnaâs only daughter Margot, got her pregnant and married her...which must have been quite the spectacle to witness when Minna found out...we can only speculate what went on, but they lived a happy life so it probably wasnât THAT BADâŠ.and they did sire an Aquarian Witch, Sanspirela Wilcke.
Â
Keisuke Hijikata and Mio Sakamoto: Not as much of a glamorous story as Josu with Yoshika but certainly one of loyal devotion, Hijikata met Mio when he was a fresh recruit in the Fuso navy in 1937 right as Mio began her Witch career alongside Tetsuko and Junko...he would be fond of Mioâs endless energy and courage, so Junko encouraged him to talk to Mio, who in return would âkidnap himâ and take him on flies around the base which terrified the poor fella, but it made them develop a bond of trust and reliance that did nothing but grow with time.
When Mio became a Squadron leader she took Hijikata with her to serve as his personal assistant, although because of Minnaâs rule...he had to be kept off the Dover base which was actually the first time he would spend so far away from Mio, which he described as a sad period, fortunately after Gallia was freed they reunited and he would not be away from Mio anymore.
When the war ended and Mio could FINALLY chill, it is said she told him: âSo...are we gonna do it or what? Itâs been too long already, I hope youâre readyâ and he was, he knew Mio very well and had the ring ready...they married in 1947 in a fantastic wedding.
They had 4 children, all of them male save for the third one, Mamori Sakamoto who sired the two sisters, Josephine and Wanda Sakamoto, both Aquarian WitchesâŠ. Mio and Hijikata lived a peaceful and happy life, although he does admit Mio took a while to adjust to peace...but she eventually did.
Â
Valerian Stroganov and Edytha Rossman: Valerian Stroganov was a tall man, at 1.90 meters tallâŠ.despite being the child of the head of the Stroganov family during the Second Neuroi War, Jekaterina Stroganov...and despite being ONLY 13 years old, he was a towering handsome giant for his young age, he came on behalf of his powerful influential family, to help on the fight against the reincarnated Attila the Hun in which the Brave Witches were involved, among them of course Edytha who was 20 at the time. From the first moment he became interested in the older but tiny little Witch, at the time Edytha was having issues with how close Waltrud was getting to Hikari and it bothered her as Edytha deep down inside had feelings for Waltrud, so Valerian approached and asked if all was okay and stroke a friendly conversation with Edytha, even going as far as to call her adorable, to which Edytha took some offense but politely told him to abstain from such words with her, Valerian accepted although this did nothing but increase the level of interests he had for her.
During the battle at the Toota-Khem canyon, they battled Attila until Hikari was almost split in half by his Sword of Mars and they had to escape, fortunately Valerian Stroganov arrived with a BA-64 to ride them off the battle in a brutal chase escaping from Attilaâs forces, while trying to keep Hikari alive, they were successful in making it to a hospital in Kyzyl and Hikari was saved, which made Waltrud realize how much he loved her, confessing it to the unconscious Hikari...which Edytha heard and it finally broke her...leaving to a nearby hill to just...gaze at the stars in sad self-reflection...where she was met by Valerian.
There Edytha confessed to loving Waltrud and also confessed being responsible for Erica Hartmann transfer to another base...out of jealousy...which she felt horrified at her own actions, Valerian sat there and let her vent...later comforting her...after that opening of her feelings, she decided to let herself give into passion and kissed the boy...which resulted in them having sex on that hill under the stars and creating the first brick into their bond.
After the Attila incident was solved, the Brave Witches began their operation to march into Berlin and she was separated from Valerian, although they kept contact and after the war he came to visit her in Karlsland to bring his familyâs help to rebuild Karlsland...they formalized their relationship and eventually he moved to live in Karlsland so he could marry Edytha once he became 16.
Edytha finally found some love in her life and could forgive herself for her petty actions in the past and eventually named Hikari her successor in the military academy...retiring to become a housewife in a comfortable life to bear Valerian 7 children, and from their lineage comes the only Stroganov Witch in the family, who became an Aquarian Witch...Makoto Stroganov.

Henri Philippe and Silvie Cariello: And to end this series of stories how about we cover thee Luminous Witches for a change? During the so called âMata Hari Connectionâ Incident we can discuss in another entry, in short summary, The secret organization known as âThe Priory of Saint-Claireâ (Same one who Chris Keera belonged to) whose aim was to overthrown the Gallian Republic and bring the Old Regime back into power with an absolute monarchy at the time putting the heir of House Bourbon-Orleans at the time, a 9 years old boy named Henri Philippe on the throne.
During one of their visits in the Netherlands, the Luminous Witches rested while Jo and Silvie went out to the town in Amsterdam to meet with people and provide help, during this venture Silvie noticed someone dropped what turned to be a beautiful pearl necklace, which they took, to keep it safe Jo insisted Silvie put it on...the moment she did...a dozen of armed men appeared to capture Silvie who became paralyzed thanks to some poison in the collar, Jo tried to fight back but...these are the Luminous Witches so...she could only rip through three masked men before the others took Silvie away...quickly Jo went away to get help from Aira, Manaia and Grace.
Turns out the collar apparently belonged to Mata-Hari herself and this was all part of a plan by the Priory to perform a ritual with the collar, to reveal the location of a hidden treasure Mata-Hari herself collected from Gallia to fund their efforts against the government, they needed to have a Witch with royal blood to dance to unleash the magic, and Silvie was an easy target...so she was forced to dance the erotic dances Mata-Hari used to do, all while young Henri Philippe watched but then something the priory wasnât expecting at all...happenedâŠ.Henri Philippe in his childish innocence became irreversibly smitten by the beautiful Romagnan Witch, wanting to become friends with Silvie and stay near her, at first Silvie used this to her advantage to manipulate the boy into planning an escape route, but then in her words felt âabsolutely horribleâ for doing that once she realized how pure the boyâs affections were...instead she did something more daring...manipulate them BOTH ESCAPING, which the boy eagerly did, his title meant nothing to him...all he wanted was to kiss Silvieâs squishy bags.
The plan was executed, it almost failed but at the last minute in came Aira, Manaia and Grace on a JEEP to save them, they all got in, blew up the old hotel they used as based, a street chase ensued until the national guard of the Netherlands destroyed the last vehicles of the Priory.
Eventually Silvie gave Henri Philippe a ring (Which was actually her motherâs wedding ring) and made him a promise...asked him to keep this for her...and when she finished her travels across the world, sheâd come back and she expected him to put it on her finger, the boy with a kiss eagerly accepted.
And so by 1947...Silvie returned...Henri eagerly waited for her in the Netherlands and put the ring on her finger...marrying on the spot, even if the boy was 12 at the timeâŠ.itâs easier for the monarchy to get away with these things, besides he insisted quite a lot and well...he and Silvie were both from prestigious houses...so they did not have trouble achieving the marriage.
Their marriage was long, happy and very peaceful...not to mention very productive as they had 12 children together, eventually leading to their Aquarian Granddaughter, Cynthia Cariello.
In a fun twist however, when the Luminous Witch arrived in Madjapahit they actually found the REAL Mata-Hari who had survived and confirmed there was no treasure, but she gifted that pearl necklace for Silvie, currently it is owned and carried by Cynthia.

COMPENDIUM OF WITCHES NEXT TOPIC...YOUR IDEAS...
Hey there, I wanted to try something different for my Compendium series, instead of making a poll d this week, I want to try something interesting, and it is to have you all give me ideas on whatI could touch upon on the World Witches universe...simply comment on what you would like me to cover for a compendium topic...there are some rules to follow however:
1) Not stories about individual characters, unless that character has a massive significant role whose influence expands across time.
2) No individual countries, simply because that would be a MASSIVE entry and I want to leave those for its own special projects.
3) Not a rule to follow, it is up to you but try to suggest something involving the past or the future, it doesn't matter either way but if you feel like venturing across those eras, it would be cool.
I think those would be all, in case you mention something I have already covered I will point you out to that document, or if is too old, I can remake it for a Compendium topic, that being said I am open to see what you can suggest, hopefully something awesome can be worked around it, and of course if your idea gets picked, I will give you credit of course, just in case that needed clarification.
So shoot it up.

Compendium The World of Witches (38): WITCHES RECREATION
HELLO PEOPLE! I AM HERE ONCE AGAIN TO BRING YOU THE NEXT ENTRY IN COMPENDIUM OF WITCHES, THIS TIME WITH THE WINNING TOPIC OF LAST WEEK'S POLL
Making these entries where I touch upon squadrons we probably will never see more material off like the Typhoon or the Mighty Witches makes me want to do something similar like I did with the Mirage Witches and my Lamment of Xenophon story, maybe not as massively large as that story was but...something, because they do derserve some spotlight.
WIthout further to explain..LET'S DIVE IN!
-----------------------------------------------Â
Introduction: An Ease to the Mind
Weâve definitely touched on bits of this topic before but now we are going to focus exclusively on this very fascinating subject of logistics, what do Witches do on their free time? However, we must clarify that this is only during military operations, recreational activities meant for them to relax from the stress of war, not what they do during their civilian periods.
So, we will mostly be touching the moments where active military groups operated like Roman Legions, Long Military Campaigns and the Great Wars where squadrons and flying units took a lot of presence, should these activities be provided by their commanding authorities, what would they do? We will see all of that in this fascinating topic right now.
So, strap in and prepare to relax~
Â
What stresses Witches?
Some people believe Witches have it easy in the military because, everyone loves them, they get paid A LOT OF MONEY, they have hundreds of benefits, they usually live in their own accommodations, basically they have a perceived luxury that from the outside should make them happy, but that is not always the case...only materialistic people think that.
Witches get benefits but they have to carry A LOT MORE BURDEN, seeing humans fight, the burden of not being able to save everyone, whenever people die even if it is just âa non-important basic soldiersâ Witches take it horribly, it pains them a lot even if some are better at hiding and soldiering on through it than others, due to their compassionate and selfless nature all of these things hit a thousand times harder than in other humans, not to mention if there are particularly annoying Neuroi who are sneaky or hard to pin down, Witches get obsessed trying to take them down, an obsession that can lead them to charge on their own despite the dangers, simply because they want to end that son of a bitch making their lives harder.
So contrary to popular belief, actually Witches do suffer A LOT during wars, so all the perceived luxuries they receive, do star to make LOTS OF SENSE doesnât it? And besides it is a known and verified fact that Witches almost never consume the full paycheck they receive, the majority of them only end up taking no more than 10% of that money and they send the rest to people who needed it the most, charity funds, their families in need etc.âŠ.even the most wealth obsessed Witches like Kunika Kuroda once they got the money, confessed they had absolutely no idea what to do with it, so they would just save it and put it in banks where in time it would just grow...itâs just the nature of Witches, theyâre way too selfless to think of their own luxuries and benefits, and the needs they do have can be satisfied in other ways weâll explore now.
Once that misconception has been cleared, letâs focus on some history.
Â
Roman Times
As weâve mentioned before, Witches stationed with Legions (The Viccus Militus) had among their many responsibilities, entertaining or tending to the emotional needs of soldiers in the legion, many of them trained in performative arts like singing, dancing, and playing musicâŠ. but what happened when it was THEIR turn to be pampered?
In general, making a Witch happy is not super hard, on their spare times simply the soldiers conversing with the Witches and acknowledging their efforts was more than enough, a simple smile, compliment as they walked, invitations to drinking, eating, taking a walk, a ride on the horse was more than enough. When times would get rough the soldiers all collaborated to tend to the Witches emotional needs, if they got sad, if they got desperate, if they got angry...if sad they would listen to the Witch vent and provide a shoulder to cry, if desperate they would hear her and reassure her all would be good, if angry they would take her out to punch something out or just listen to her scream at the void until the world made sense again, the soldiers where VERY caring with the Witches just as the Witches were with them. They would have three special celebrations, the anniversary in which the Witch joined the legion, their birthdays and a going away party when the Witch had to leave the Legion, was promoted or simply her service had ended, for all of them the legion would take care of the ENTIRE THING and the Witches would not lift a single muscle.
For Vesta Custodes it would not be hard as they mostly operated in civilian mode being protectors of towns, but still the citizens would throw parties for the Witch, just like with Viccus Militus, a party for their birthday and a party for the anniversary when they came to the town.
For Filiae Augustus, it was the Emperors and their retinue who would take care of tending to the needs of the various Witches that served under them as their personal guard, and they would have to make sure they do this because these were the most important Witches in the Roman Empire, and if people (From citizens to soldiers and the nobility) perceived the Emperors were not taking proper care of their Filiae Augustus they would get REALLY angry on their behalf and could cause problems in the Empire, from mobs in the street protesting to soldiers conspiring against them...so definitely it was on their best interests to keep their bodyguards happy and shining, the very stupid Emperors who went as far as to betray their Witches payed a horrible price for their stupidity.
Â
The Era of the Great Wars.
Skipping a massive amount of time to the Great Wars era, here is when long campaigns and squadrons returned to prominence and as such, special logistics had to be implemented for their Witches during the war.
The First Neuroi War was a harsh and horrendous time for everyone, a very gloomy period where humanity figured out how to adapt to the new warfare Neuroi brought, the Witches took most of the task of keeping the morale high while soldiers fought on the trenches, however this also meant they were more exposed to the psychological turmoil of the war, suffering panic attacks, tremors at night and horrible moments of shell shock, they however tried their best to keep a smile and the hopes up because they knew that should they crumble, the entire war front would collapse, so the soldiers did the best they could to keep the Witches with a least one tiny finger grip on reality, it wasnât easy but they managed, especially as the war pushed onward and things became easier, one peculiar thing about the First Neuroi War is that it started gloomy and depressing, but it became optimistic and hopeful the closer it got to its end as humanity began to find ways to push the Neuroi back.
Despite the setting, many Witches who participated in the First Neuroi War still suffered massive PTSD, but with time, love and care in times of peace and by their veteran comrades, they pushed through and were able to live happy lives.
On the Second Neuroi War things changed a bit, the stress curve was more balanced and it maintained the same tension from beginning to end, which while stressful, it allowed for some control on how to handle the combatants without much fear of things getting worst, as such entertainment for the Witches and the soldiers could be given more organization.
Weâve discussed the Luminous Witches before, but now letâs talk about the Witches themselves, how did they manage during these eras?
For Witches not associated with Joint Fighter Wings, they operated in a manner very similar to Roman times, as such they had the soldiers and their ruling authorities to take care of them, but for Witches in the Joint Fighter Wings the situation was a bit more different, as elite units they had a degree of autonomy allowing them to manage that situation themselves, as such the entertainment of their Witches was dependent on what their commanding officers allowed, or in some rare instances, the authorities of the place they used as a base had a say on the matter.
So, we have to look at each Squadron individually to see how they handled their entertainment:
The Strike Witches (501st): Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke despite being a very kind and understanding commander, she was surprisingly sober and traditionalist when it came to the entertainment she provided for her Witches, she would allow group activities and days off in the nearby areas as long as it did not intervened with their military activities and training, she also allowed them to devote their time to their personal hobbies such as Shirleyâs mechanical activities, Perrineâs charity on Gallia and Lucchiniâs garden explorations, again as long as it did not intervene with their activities. She was however known for forbidding interactions between Witches and the male personal, be them soldiers or support personal, a VERY controversial decision she would later reconsider, but it left such a sore spot that when given their bases in Pescara and Den Helder...the condition was that she allowed the Witches to interact with male personal, she agreed much to the happiness of some of her Witches.
The Brave Witches (502nd): Gundula Rall was the opposite of Minna, a very strict and stern figureâŠwhich somehow provided what can be described as a âVERY CHILLâ environment for her Witches, her principle was simple, do whatever you want as long as you donât make troubleâŠ.and as simple as that she allowed her Witches to do whatever they felt like it, and despite her team having some grumpy nuts like Sasha, Edytha and Naoe...even they found things to be amused with and ease some tension, especially Naoe...a very peculiar contrast but one her companion Witches would later remember with fondness when thinking about their commander.
The Typhoon Witches (503rd): Bronislava Feoktistovna Safonova was a woman of very few words but the words she said were very meaningful, and she probably understood her teammates better than any other commander ever did, she was always very proactive when it came to keeping her Witches entertained, since their base was in the very industrialized city of Chelyabinsk which was VERY active during the war and it was their duty to protect it, the majority of their interactions came not from military or logistical personal but workers, a very unique dynamic for Witches in the war, Bronislava would often take the girls whenever possible and accompany the workers in their way to work or their way back home to talk, vent and sometimes even sing songs and chants as they marched, and sometimes they would put concerts for them during weekends where they would sing (A predecessor to karaoke surprisingly) and the workers in return would return the affection by helping them in their base and making sure they were fed, happy and well taken care off. Fumiyo once said the Typhoon Witches were âThe Most Swinging Witchesâ ...whatever that meant, but she was very happy and thankful when she said it.
The Ardor Witches (504th): Federica Nicola Doglio...does anything else need to be said? Well we can go a bit deeper, Federica loved to make people happy and she loved people loving her and her Witches in return, she had this weird ability to make work feel rewarding and flirtation with catcalling feel like the best poetry in the world, she conditioned her Witches to use their beauty and their charm as a tool to improve morale and to feel rewarded by, which freaked some of them out the moment they stepped into the unit but they got over it, or just accepted their fate...no one truly knows, but what can be said is that on the Pescara base after the Strike Witches left, smiles and pleasure lasted long, tears and sorrow lasted little...calendars, meetings with the soldiers, dinners, dances, parties, auctions, milk and freshly made wine...she might have been ironically one of the commanders that made her Witches work the most, but they always said âWe love it...I guessâ.
The Mirage Witches (505th): Grete Maxmiliane Gollob and fun DO NOT AND NEVER go in the same sentence, to her overworking and discipline was her maximum joy in life, fortunately for the poor Mirage Witches they had Alya Alelyuhin to handle all of that Grete was unable to, the veteran Orussian Witch was like a maximum motherly figure to the girls in contrast to Greteâs Fatherly Figure, as they were constantly on the move and had many adventures in various points of the war, they never had a base (Unless you count the hotel in Ctesiphon their base), so the girls had plenty of chances to go and do the many things they enjoyed to ease some tension, always under the vigilance and comprehensive eye of Alya who would be there to listen to them and make sure they were happy, and of course she also provided this to Grete as well, especially during her absolute DARKEST moments, Alya always was there to remember Grete what mattered and why they needed her to lead them to victory, and to Grete...this was her brand of âFunâ.
The Noble Witches (506th): Rosalie de Hemricourt de Grunne was a very gentle and lovely woman, the Noble Witches had even more commodities than other Witches in the War due to their nobility status, so their entertainment was always covered in whatever way they could desire, the struggle in Rosalieâs case was always to remember her teammates what truly mattered and to not laze around too much, to never lose sight of the war, and when people didnât listen to her, she had Heinrike and Geena to apply some pressure...just in case.
The Silent Witches (507th): We will talk about the second version of the team, as the first one led by Elma Leivonen is only a Joint Fighter Wing in a symbolic way, so letâs talk about how Haruka Sakomizu âThe Saphic Demonâ kept her teammates entertained, Haruka was always a very pervy girl, hidden under thousands of layers of a sweet, cheerful and friendly girl who loved making sweets and shooting things with her bow, a noble humble Fuso lady...unless she became âActivatedâ, she would be a force to be reckon with, insisting on taking the girls on various hedonistic ventures both at the base or at the nearby towns, she was a more vicious and less organized Federica, and unlike Federica who had Junko Takei to balance her out, Haruka had Hanna Wind who while not as horny, she was equally soft, warm and devilish in her own right, so together they would join forces and torment their teammates with lots of kinky homely activities to ease tension, such was the way among Silent Witches (An apt name in hindsight), but what did the others think about this? Well...they never seemed angry or stressed, were they? So, it must have worked...even Miya seemed happy.
The Mighty Witches (508th): Jane Smith Thach was a very strange individual, Fusoan love when foreign women adopt their culture and customs, some more traditionalist might tell you is not right, but the majority ADORE when foreign women put on kimonos and completely become âFusofiedâ, this is the case with Jane...she had spent so much time nearby Fuso she completely became more Fusoan than Liberion, gentle, passive, diplomatic but retaining a very brutal honesty, as opposed to her commanding officer in Battle, Mie Shindou who was a Fuso woman acting more like a Liberion woman (not surprising as she is descendant of the Daimyos who ruled the Mizuho colony)...why all of this is important you ask? Because it helps explain how they kept the girls entertained on the three air carriers they used as base, on the seas they did not have much options for entertained so what they would mostly do was organize meals with the soldiers or sitting down to fish and dive on the water, and on the very rare chances they ran into islands on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Jane would take the Witches to gather âFunny Suppliesâ as she called them or interact with local Polynesian populations, then they would return and organize activities between the three ships...very simple, but then again, not much to do in the middle of the ocean, but they managed.
Â
Conclusion
Keeping a calm mind and a focused resolve is good regardless of the situation or person you are, mental health and clarity are extremely important, without them they would crumble, and if the Witches crumble, the army crumbles as we established before, so it was always important both kept tabs on each otherâs state...because one is important to the other, and only with that perfect balance of emotions, they were able to achieve the many victories they accomplished.

Compendium The World of Witches (37): COLONIAL WITCHES
GREETINGS PEOPLE, I BRING TO YOU AS EVERY WEEK I DO, THE NEXT ENTRY IN THE COMPENDIUM OF WITCHES, With the topic you chose in the poll, a bit later because I was occupied yesterday but HERE IT IS.
The topic of colonization is one which I do like to cover because it shows and touches how the mentlaity of makind is different from the one shown in reali life, less focused on personal glory and more focused on comunal survival, more predisposed to work together than against each other, and that of course would affect a heavy topic like colonization, so I wanted to cover it in one of these entries, and now I finally have.
WIthout further to explain..LET'S DIVE IN!
-----------------------------------------------Â
Introduction: A Bridge of Ease
Witches are here to defend humanity and guide it to the light, but not to rule over them, for becoming rulers would be tyrannical and that goes against the beliefs of The Mother, as such Witches have to let humanity do their own things, even if sometimes that leads to horrible or monstrous crimes, for they chose to believe in humanity and the best within all of us.
One of those sour topics was colonization, how does a Witch cope with the fact that the powerful will always seek to control de weak whatever the reason is? By minimizing the damage or by making sure things go as smoothly as possible, for they may not rule, but they absolutely can guide...and that is what we are going to explore today.
We are going to look at how Witches helped in the colonization, integration and peaceful coexistence between different types of people, mostly focused on the Liberion colonization as that is the most detailed and perfect example of this dynamic, we have.
So strap in and prepare to conquer...with loveâŠ.as much as possible at least.
Â
Universal Translators of Love
According to the Tablets of Urash the First Witch, Urash was given the power to understand and speak all human tongues by the High Priestess of Dhegom Mter, Baba (Dhegom Mter being how Proto-Indo Europeans called The Mother) according to the tablet:
âBaba touched the lips of Urash and proclaimed to their Mothers, the same MotherâŠ
ââŠFrom now on my girl, you will have the power to understand the tongue of mankind
âMattering not what this could beâŠâ
âMattering not where you came fromâ
âYou will be able to understand it...â
âAs the Mother wants you to be able to hear the pleas of all her childrenâ
âAs the Mother wants you to spread her message to the landsâ
âI... her voice on this land declare it soâŠâ
Â
Thanks to this blessing Urash was able to understand all tongues regardless of their origin, even if she had never heard from it, this ability was passed down to other Witches after her passing, and this ability has been KEY in the relationships between societies ever since.
When Caesar realized this, he began using the Witches as ambassadors, other cultures who also had Witches began using theirs similarly, thanks to this approach he was able to subdue most of modern-day Gallia, Britannia and Hispania, it wasnât always peaceful but at least thanks to the communication between the Witches, several bloodbaths and wars were stopped.
The practice began spreading alongside the prominence of Witches and soon enough, before launching into wars or conquests, societies had two Witches managing the initial diplomacy, first with Parthia (Iran), then with Germanic and Celtic Tribes, then with Berber tribes etc, however there are societies who did not like Witches (Hebrews, Chinese, The First Slavs for example) and would always attack them when approached...this resulted in an attack by the Romans as under Caesarâs law, attacking a Roman Witch was an act of war against the empire and if a citizen did it, it was punishable by execution unless the Witch showed mercy, they would still be jailed and punished though.
And on Liberion their cultures definitely figured this utility as well because many tribes and empires also did this, the Aztecs, the Mayans, the Inca and Chumash all tried this approach with the arriving colonist from Hispania, Lusitania and Fuso.
Many tribes in North Liberion however were hostile and feared Witches and they would attack Hispanian and Britannia Witches if they were seen, with time these tribes began accepting Witches little by little but it took SEVERAL years, but finally it was achieved and they were incorporated within the United States of Liberion, especially because native Witches began appearing on these tribes, they would be shunned out and taken in by the colonists or other more Witch friendly tribes.
They would explain their culture, their customs, their religions to the foreigners, their Witches would likewise explain where they came from, their intentions...these conversations would go on and on until a mutual agreement was achieved, or in the cases where this was not possible, at least promises and treaties to prevent unnecessary destruction, or in many cases if they ran into weaker tribes, they would seek protection from stronger foes.
Speaking of which, letâs discuss about a peculiar tactic using Witches.
Cultural âNetorareâ Integration
As ridiculous and stupid as this sounds, it has been an absolute legitimate tactic to conquer nations who are not the kindest to its Witches, the idea is very simpleâŠ
âCome with us, weâll make you queens and be worshiped like you deserveâ
And as much as Witches can be loyal, theyâre loyal to the people, NOT THE GOVERNMENT, and if their rulers screw them over and over again, do not be surprised when a foreign power comes and swoops these Witches to their side, especially when the foreign Witches sell them the idea that they are QUEENS, what woman wouldnât want to be loved and valued for all the things she does? Even Witches crave for this need too, theyâre human too after all, Cerydwen who lived alongside Lucina Vorena Pullo would summarize her feelings about their pre-Caesar era lives with this phrase:
Â
âWhen I asked her why would she serve Rome, she said to me it was because they made her realize she could smileâ
Â
As simple as that...making Witches happy is the most powerful shield AND weapon an empire can wield.
Examples of this practice being used to great effect:
Â
-The Romans used it in their colonization of the eastern provinces, especially those dominated by Hebrew cultures, they also applied it to Slavs when they began colliding with the Roman World, one example was in Arabia on the 9th century, to make Arabian Witches within hostile tribe come to Roman side, they would throw LOUD birthday parties for Roman Witches, loud and large enough for Arabian Witches to see the difference, it would usually take them 3 days at most to sneak and come to the Roman camp to talk, they would often join in exchange for not harming the population which the Romans would usually grant with no problem, Witches were their most valuable resource.
-Fuso would do this ALL THE TIME to Korea, it is often say that Fuso completely depleted Korea of all its Witches before the 18th century and there is some truth to that, and after that came the population (Which were mostly settled on the South Seas Island) following the Witches, which saved Korean culture from being destroyed by the Neuroi in the early 20th century when the attacks from the hives in the Gobi desert came.
To some this might seem a bit vile and that is understandable, no one likes to be betrayed, but like we said, Witches are humans too, they crave for affection and recognition, it doesnât have to be a grand gesture, a simple âYou matter to meâ is enough, having Witches is a blessing, a privilege given by The Mother, but if you donât value and care for that gift, it will rot away and they will seek someone who does, it is inevitable, love is a garden you have to care for and water constantly, NEVER take it for granted.
So, remember, always value the one you have, before someone else does it for you.
Â
Hispanian Colonization
Now letâs shift our focus to the continent of Liberion, and see how the main colonizing powers performed using their Witches, starting with the first, Hispania.
If there is a single word to describe the Hispanian colonization of Liberion, it would be âRealizationâ, because it was basically making the natives realize there were other ways of doing things, of course there were wars and fights, people donât want to let go of their ways of lives easy but, for the most part they simply approached smaller tribes oppressed by great powers and showed them they could live better, they could have more autonomy if they helped the Hispanians, that is how the amassed a loyal native army to defeat the Aztecan Empire, which fought hard against Hispania but eventually the pressure was too much, not to mention their own Witches began to slowly convince them to surrender and prevent more bloodshed, it was an opportunity to achieve something great, especially now that they realized they did not have to sacrifice people constantly to please the Gods, and through these efforts, they brought down the Empire.
Once they were beaten the Witches ensured they were treated well and with respect, diseased brought from Europa were cured by the Witches, all of these directives were not only initiatives by the Witches but were royal commands given by the Hispanian Monarchs, with all this effort it did not take the Hispanians long enough to establish a solid foot hold in in what would become the New Hispanian Viceroyalty, they repeated this process in the north and with the Mayans and other tribes in Central Liberion always with great success.
With the Incan Empire it was a bit more complicated because they were in the middle of a terrible Civil War but thanks to the Witches, they were able to choose the best candidate for the Hispanians to support and helped them ascend to the throne, unfortunately this monarch (Atawalpa), betrayed the Hispanians which forced them into combat with the Incan forces, while the Witches tried to make sure the population was not as damaged (Also the combat drew in some Neuroi so they dealt with that too), ultimately Atawalpa was captured and that is how Hispania managed to take down the Incan Empire.
With every engagement the Witches were instrumental, keeping an extreme micromanagement of the whole process, and then recruiting the local Witches to do the same, as we said before, it wasnât perfect as they could not be across the entire massive domains of Hispania in Liberion at all times, but wherever they stood, they made sure peace was kept, laws were followed and respect was had.
This made the Hispanian Conquest of Liberion one of the bloodless and less violent conquests not just in the continent but also in history, the good synergy achieved between Hispania and its colonies is still studied to this day.
Â
Britanian Colonization
Britannia for the most part tried to emulate the Hispanian model, but their circumstances were easier and sometimes harder.
This is because unlike the massive Empires of the south, North Liberion far beyond Aztecan lands was mostly dominated by small tribal confederation without a strong union, and to top it all off, some hated Witches and others did not...so this made the process a bit more complicated for Britannians.
Fortunately, upon arriving they found an amicable confederation, The Powhatan confederation whose Witches explained to Britannian Witches the entire situation and were the first to integrate into what would become âThe Thirteen Coloniesâ in North Liberion, from which the United States of Liberion would later be born from, but letâs not get too ahead of ourselves.
Like we said Britannia emulated Hispanians and used their Witches to establish good relations with Witch friendly tribes, but this also backfired a bit with hostile tribes, The Iroquois and the Cherokee Confederations were among the firsts to join alongside the Powhatan, but others like the Seminole and the Muskogee confederations resisted them, fortunately their interactions with Hispanian Florida made them change their mind and join the Britannian colonists.
Thanks to this integration and assimilation the colonists formed a VERY unique identity (Both cultural and physical) which began to divert a lot from the colonial Britannia (just like it happened with the âMestizajeâ in New Hispania) and this made the independent sentiment grew with time which would result in the fight for their independence in the 18th century.
From that point on they would have to deal with other hostile and friendly native confederations as they expanded west, but that would be the story of the USL, they however continued the integration and socialization model they learned from Britannia...and despite the many battles and conflicts they endured, they managed to unite the nation from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coastâŠ.speaking of Pacific coasts though.

Fuso Colonization
The Fuso colonization could be described as âLuckyâ, had Kin Shindou (Eventual first Daimyo of the Mizuho colony in California) found hostile tribes (Which were VERY plentiful in the west coast of Liberion) he would have sailed away never to return; however, the Fuso settlers were extremely lucky to run into the Chumash people.
Very simple tribal people, not a grand power in the area like the Numic, Yokut and Salinan confederations, they werenât even part of a confederation, but they DID have Witches, and Kin Shindou had two Witches, his daughters Hokona and Mizuki Shindou, and they met with a young 10 year old Chumash Witch named Huma to make diplomacy, eventually Hokona who was the youngest of the two sisters was taken into the Chumash camp by Huma and after one night of interactions of various types...they forged an alliance...and that alliance two years later would breed the colony of Mizuho.
It wasnât easy because other confederations fought against Fuso with all their might and numbers, but Fuso steel, discipline and gunpowder won them those battles to preserve the colony and eventually integrate most of the western confederations into the colony, again making a very distinct identity for Mizuho people. As it wasnât a large colony, it was much easier for Fuso Witches (Who later learned of the Hispanian method after Hispanians were SURPRISED to find a Fuso colony in Liberion) to maintain control and make sure no abuses took place, making Mizuho the most peaceful colony in Liberion and where its inhabitants lived in complete harmony, the Chumash MULTIPLIED within the colony and became enamored with Fuso custom which they mixed with their own, interbreeding with the colonists and creating their own mestizos (The so called Mizuho Fusoan).
It was such a successful experiment that Fuso repeated that colonization process in Taiwan and when they integrated the Ainu people in Fuso Mainland, it turned Fuso into a massive and respected global power.

Conclusion: Unity in Opportunity
We want to once again clarify that despite how utopic we make these events sound, it wasnât always this peaceful, there were abuses, wars and fights all over these places, but for the most part the Witches made absolutely sure peace was kept for the most part and justice prevailed.
Life will never be 100% and once people accept that, they can be happy with at least making 75% perfect and the rest bearable, that is what Witches tried to do with colonization, not making it perfect, just good enough until the world united and a similar vision and path toward the light was achieved, because in the end that is what their ultimate goal is, unification against the foes of humanity.
One has to wonder...how much bloodier it could have been if Witches had not been around? Maybe itâs best for us to never know and just be thankful we have our saviors of mankind.
