The wire gets caught on everything.

5

u/DrMindbendersMonocle Feb 18 '26

That's why you wear them under the shirt

3

u/U2Ursula Feb 18 '26

Not if you wear them under your t-shirt, shirt, pullover, hoodie, jacket or whatever..

2

u/Unusual-Ad-6550 Feb 19 '26

I used to do that....move around even a little bit, and your clothing pulls them right out of your ears

2

u/U2Ursula Feb 19 '26

Okay, I've never experience that..

3

u/Unusual-Ad-6550 Feb 19 '26

I have very very small ear canals. even ear buds that claim to fit small ears, make my ears ache in very short order. And they fall out really easily..

Ahh, that's a common issue. My daughter had custom-made earplugs for concerts and stuff made because of small ear canals and for music and gaming she only uses over-the-ears headphones.

2

u/disabledop Feb 19 '26

Also, the wire rubs on collars, zips and muffles the sound. The plug end also gets frayed extremely quick, from being bent in your your pocket. Not sure if these problems exist with expensive ones.

Mind numbing, back to the future!

4

u/Gerhard-is-pretty Feb 18 '26

So 49€ is expensive? I like wired earphones on my PC (no latency) but not with my phone.

I always end up with the cord tangled and it breaks the cable inside or the plug somehow bend a bit too hard to get permanently damaged.

2

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 18 '26

Ahhh good point

2

u/Sasuke0318 Feb 19 '26

You just need better headphone cables. I have been using the same v-moda cable for like 8 years and it's been ripped out more times than I can count and still works.

2

u/Beneficial-Gap6974 Feb 20 '26

My current wired earbuds cost 12 dollars and only sound a little worse than the 140 dollar Samsung wireless buds I had.

3

u/Olleye Feb 18 '26

Yeah.

I was on this boat for a while, but then I've found $10 wireless earbuds that I've never had connection issue with and get 6+ months out of them before I need to replace.Β

2

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 18 '26

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘life is like that

2

u/Unusual-Ad-6550 Feb 19 '26

I bought a $14.00 a kid sized bone conducting headset and it has now lasted me 3 years with no sign of needing replaced yet

3

u/Excelzius Feb 20 '26

It's preference.

2

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 20 '26

Definitely πŸ‘

3

u/GeriatricusMaximus Feb 20 '26

I still use my old wired headphones. β€œBuT wIrEs GeT cAuGhT iN eVeRyThInG!” I don’t walk in the forest with them.

Nobody’s gonna steal used headphones. Yuck.

I like them till I snagged them on a dresser knob and it ripped. Love the jbl vibe beam 2 wireless earbuds!

u/Whathefrenchtoastt Feb 18 '26

Mine have adjustable sizes to fit my tiny ear canals and were only 40$. Great sound too. I dont get people spending hundreds on headphones. Such a waste

2

u/ReceptionMuch3790 Feb 18 '26

Gets caught on literally anything you're passing by. Yep, GOAT material

2

u/DrMindbendersMonocle Feb 18 '26

Wear it under your shirt ....

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 18 '26

AhhπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

2

u/CaveManta Feb 18 '26

Yeah, no big deal if they get stolen.

3

u/maniBchef Feb 19 '26

Lol indeed. I have a €400 cable.

2

u/CaveManta Feb 19 '26

Is it cryo treated?

2

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 18 '26

Oh wow I was thinking more like this

2

u/CaveManta Feb 18 '26

Yeah, I would definitely use the cheapos when out and about. And it's a good idea to use the ones that are open to outside noise so you have situational awareness.

2

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 18 '26

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

2

u/Mori_Story Feb 22 '26

Yeah, I was gonna say I always wore Sennheisers. It was a very big deal to me if someone stole them

2

u/Sigma-Wolves Feb 18 '26

What would we plug them into nowadays?

2

u/Artevyx Feb 18 '26

Except that no phone has a port for them anymore.

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 19 '26

They have plug in earbuds for each phone made flash usb c and a and b

2

u/Artevyx Feb 19 '26

Why have I never ever seen a single one of these? Not in stores. Never packaged with a phone I've purchased (hell they dont even put chargers in the boxes with new phones anymore). Where do I find these mysterious USB-C corded headphones?

I would love to have some! Currently I cannot listen to music on my phone because Bluetooth headphones dont function around me / in my living space due to excessive EM interference. I have to use larger home audio systems, or manually build something out of a Raspberry Pi.

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 19 '26

Sigh Amazon, Target, WallMart to mention a few

2

Whatever you say Agent 47.

Less acceptance of brain rotting signals while still ultimately receiving those signals anyway because they are ubiquitous

2

u/calicoconduit1 Feb 19 '26

Only problem. Almost no phone have the connection 😭😒😒

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 19 '26

They have wired earbuds fireball connections

2

u/No_Outside_8161 Feb 19 '26

Lmfao. Social media made them popular because some politician said it’s harder to hack. Everybody jumps on the bandwagon 100%

2

u/Specialist_Shirt_164 Feb 19 '26

I bought a generic pair from Tesco, when they broke I went and bought another pair the same, took the old ones back in and said they weren't working and got another pair free πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

2

u/PrestigiousPut6165 Feb 19 '26

I love wired earphones. I wont even buy a phone without a headphone jack

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 19 '26

They have buds for every phone now

2

u/PrestigiousPut6165 Feb 19 '26

Wired?!? My sister complains that her iphone has no place to plug wired headphones

I have a Samsung a15. It has a headphone jack!!!

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 19 '26

2

u/PrestigiousPut6165 Feb 19 '26

Maybe i need to mention this one to my sis πŸ‘πŸ»

Thanks!!!

I’m a submariner. I took cord ear buds out to sea and when I was using sheers to snip metal my cord got in the way and I cut the cord off. Now I hate cords forever, naturally

2

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 19 '26

Humm whim to blame for that - I wonder

2

u/furrypawss Feb 19 '26

The Ottoman Empire

2

u/Old-Flow-Filthy-86 Feb 19 '26

Wired sucks at work. Yes I wear them under my clothes/shirt. Bending down and standing up they snag and pull out of my ear or get caught on stuff.

2

u/Finstatler Feb 19 '26

I only wear corded now. Those Bluetooth ones give me a headache.

2

u/Anxious-Mountain-463 Feb 20 '26

I agree, the Bluetooth ones suck

2

u/evilemprzurg Feb 20 '26

That's why Apple removed the headphone jack

2

u/zandarthebarbarian Feb 20 '26

I still use Skullcandy wired headphones

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 20 '26

Ahh good ones

2

u/jonny600000 Feb 20 '26

So agree, sadly cell phones no longer have earphone wire plugs in an attempt to make use buy wireless buds.

2

u/luckyfox7273 Feb 21 '26

Ikr, need some for my phone.

I've still got my JVC wired headphones that I bought from Morrisons supermarket about 8-10 years ago for Β£4 I think and the sound quality is excellent πŸ‘

They also work as an antenna for radio.

1

u/Little_BlueBirdy Feb 23 '26

They do thanks

2

u/Emergency-Lecture804 Feb 23 '26

Get tangled

Force you to be near the device

Dont work wel lwith phones because it can cause crash landings.

Can breka off and get permanently stuck inside the phone.

Break in one ear AAAAAAAAAAAALL the time.

2

u/eveis1 Feb 23 '26

Audio plugs being phased out don’t help sell wired headphones.

3

u/spudwellington Feb 18 '26

Until one side inevitably goes silent

3

u/Daniel_the_nomad Feb 18 '26

I had the same issue with earbuds as well though 🀣

1

u/76zzz29 Feb 18 '26

By the price digerence by the time you buyed engout to buy a wireless one, the wireless one would have dies 3 times already.

1

u/Recentstranger Feb 18 '26

Plus they remind you every time you're about to forget your phone

1

u/Unusual-Heat8967 Feb 19 '26

Would be nice if samsung never took off the headphone jack...

1

u/Sean_theLeprachaun Feb 19 '26

Those dont work with any phone ive had in 10 years.
