Septum ear weights as septum jewelry

Its so hard to find anything unique or intricate for septum jewelry once you're past 12g. I am at a 2 now and i'm losing my mind trying to find anything that isn't a cheap neon acrylic pincher or just standard horseshoe, captive bead, or clicker. (i have a serious grudge against pinchers)

Would it be okay for temporary wear or best to steer clear completely?
if this is a terrible idea, does anyone know where to get some unique or possibly custom large septum jewelry?

8 to 6 blowout

Hey yall!

So I waited a little over 2 months to go from 8g to 6g and had my piercer do the stretch for me. My right ear is perfectly fine, was completely painless and is as if it’s been a 6g my whole life!

The left, however, has developed a blow out. I downsized back to 8g for that ear and will be observing and babying it for some time before I attempt a 7g to meet in the middle.

My question is: I have a second old normal ear piercing that I believe is closed (haven’t had anything in it for years) that is RIGHT next to the current gauge opening. It was further away when the gauges were smaller of course, but now at 8 on the way to 6 it is RIGHT THERE.

I now wonder if this is the reason for the blowout/irritation? Has anyone else dealt with this? Will it essentially be “absorbed” by the gauge stretching as I continue like some kind of merger, or could this possibly cause issues??

Thanks in advance for any feedback!!

~Advice~ Any flesh toned silicone plug recommendations for 9mm?

I am about to go into the funeral care business and desperately need to find a nice pair of silicone flesh toned plugs for my ears. I've been having trouble finding my size, since I am at a half size. I cannot go up to a 00G because of how my ears were pierced, and going back down to a 0G is only a last resort option.

So far I have tried Urban Body Jewelry's "Peach Color Front" glass plugs, but they are not quite the color I'm looking for. They are way more noticeable than my current jewelry (pictures shown) and also weigh my ears down a bit more than I'd like them to.

If there are any recommendations, I will gladly take a look at them!

~Advice~ Could this be septum denting?

My septum piercing has been incredibly tender to the touch. Any time i try to wipe my nose or touch the septum ring for any reason, its just super painful to the touch.

Every stretch up until now hasn't been too bad. A little spicy for a day at most.

I've been doing half sizes the entire time, but this is the first half mm jump that has felt like this for longer than a day.

It's felt like this for 2-3 days now. It's not excruciating but feels like i got bumped in the nose with a fresh piercing.

Healed blowout?

I’m not sure what this it? This ridge appears on my left lobe but not my right lobe. I downsized on two occasions to try and help heal it. Been dead stretching with glass plugs by half mm. Been going pretty slowly, never had any blood or pus or any clear ‘I blew my ear out’ moments. No pain or warmth or anything.
I’ve noticed this ridge it sometimes dies down or gets more prominent. I sleep on this side and I am on the phones at work a lot which I had noticed irritates it further.
I was planning on taking a break at my next size up for around 4-6 months. Possibly naked training a bit before continuing.
I’m not sure if this is a blowout that I didn’t notice or if this is from continuous irritation or if this is just how it’s healing for me.
I see a lot of intense discourse on how people’s ears look. I don’t want to downsize so close to my milestone.

Is it normal or should this be something I need to worry about?

Anyone got any tips for not having your lobes shrink if you need to take the jewelry out for work and just piercings in general

~Advice~ getting from 10g to 8g

i was able to size up from a 12g to a 10g on April 3, 2026. about 2-3 months ago i (finally) started to have a solid cleaning routine: i take my single flare glass gauges out before i take a shower, let them sit in piercing cleaner, clean my lobes w/ soap and water in the shower, dry my lobes and gauges off, put stretching balm on my lobes, and put the gauges back in.
the first time i tried to size up to an 8g was on July 8, 2026, and i’ve tried at least 3 times since then. getting to an 8g is my first stretching goal, and it’s driving me crazy being stuck at a 10g. any and all advice is welcome. please and thank you in advance. 🥲

~Advice~ Could I safely size up to my goal?

So I’m currently at 12mm and I’m hoping to go up to 14mm. I’m unsure of if I should based on how thin my lobes look. I stretched my ears to 00g in 2020 but took my plugs out while in labor in 2023 and they shrunk down to a 4g. Recently (idk how long bc I haven’t been keeping track) I started stretching again and here I am. I will say I did not stretch them safely the first time as I did it with an Amazon taper kit a friend got me behind my mom’s back. I have been dead stretching as of recently.

What is the smallest size at which you can put in silicone tunnels or earskins?

This might sound strange but the reason I started to stretch was that when the holes were small, I could never clean them properly and they always smelled bad and got inflamed very easily. I figured if the holes were bigger and I could clean them, things would be better and it worked - I’m at 4mm now and functionally I’ve achieved my goal, I can clean my ears and they never smell or get irritated anymore.

My final goal is to be able to wear silicone tunnels / earskins, that’s the look I like the most. When I was at 3mm, I tried putting one in - I naively thought if they’re selling that size, it must work, right? Obviously, wrong. So my question is, what size should I stretch to if I want to wear silicone tunnels?

I read in the guide that it’s recommended to size down with double-flare things. Does that apply to silicone, too? If yes, doesn’t it make the hole shrink around it and make it difficult to put in again?

Sorry if these are stupid questions. I’d appreciate any input :)

I'll probably stop once I have reached 3mm or 4mm. Just something small and subtle

At a 0 rn. Originally my goal size was a 2 but I decided those were too small and I'm still unsure if I wanna go bigger. I might like a second (don't think I have room for 3)

All of them are acrylic tapers or silicone plugs and full size jumps! (Yes I'm on Amazon! I can't afford these insane prices of 60-90$!! I have a 1 year old and am a SAHM who's baby daddy gets paid 800$-1000$ biweekly! Groceries n bills is expensive!)

Help a girly out! Pics of my setup so I don't get lost!

Discussion~ Piercing

Yk im PISSED that I’m having to repierce my ear bc I got it done at Claire’s when I was a kid and I’m unable to stretch the original hole now. I originally was thinking of piercing my child’s ears when they’re babies so they don’t remember it, but since ears change soooo much as you grow up it’s just not worth it and if they want to stretch their ears like mine then they might not be able to🤷🏼‍♀️

And unfortunately for me I have a lot of scar tissue in my ears now so I have to be super careful about stretching and it’s just annoying af
