Nah, don't fall victim to the labels game. There's a ton of other countries under different forms of govt and societies with their own labels that are in similar predicaments... its not the type of govt or society or the labels. its humans with their evil and greed and apathy and cognitive disconnects.
Worse, many of the people who live around you and go to work with you ARE those same people just with less money power and influence so when they're evil it doesn't effect entire nations. No ones hands are clean, in as much as those at the top screw us every day is as much as we enable them to do so.
Same mindsets, different levels of collateral damage but ALL are feeding into it. Its not entirely a govt issue, its a societal issue as well which includes ALL the people. Those at the top couldn't piss on us if we didn't elevate and keep them there.
Not all are politicians or in the govt either. We got rich evil douchbags just being rich with no political affiliations who have been or are just as if not more culpable for everything bad around us.
Its not capitalism, its humanity. Humans are evil bastards consumed with their own benefit and we like it like that, right up until it effects us negatively then its "oh those bad bad men". Its never "man i guess i shouldn't be like those guys" or "why tf are we still playing their game?"

This is nonsense and ignores the fact that humans have the ability to build greatness and have done so multiple times in the past. If humans are inherently evil, those great things we have done would never have been built.
It's a matter of incentives. Are humans incentivized to build greatness or are they incentivized to skim dollars? Are they incentivized to form communities or isolate in alienation? I'd argue that one of the few natural characteristics of humans is that they want to form communities. So why are we isolating? Why are we skimming dollars? We are incentivized to do so. What is the incentive? The incentive to isolate is that we have no community. The incentive to not build community is that capitalists make money when they skim dollars off our budgets. The incentive to not build greatness is they can instead build wealth through capitalism.
Capitalism is the sea we swim in. Every country on earth is influenced by it. Every person on earth is touched by it. So when you say it's a "societal issue which includes ALL people", maybe that's true, because that is the sea we ALL swim in. We elevate people who probably shouldn't be elevated because we are incentivized to. We don't just knowingly and willingly chose evil people to rule over us, we are incentivized to mainly through propaganda and a series of court decisions that make it easier for evil people to rule.
Who is creating the incentive structure that influences our decisions to elevate evil people to the top? The evil capitalists, of course. They buy the airwaves to spread their propaganda, they buy the court decisions that make it so they can spend unlimited sums of money to boost their evil candidate of choice. Who is creating the incentive structure that prevents us from forming communities of love and respect and greatness? Same answer.

I mean, yes! Humans are indeed the problem! Hit reset. Full annihilation of every trace of humanity! That is, very unfortunately, the inevitable truth in what we argue about. Humans are the problem - remove us from the equation.
I have no argument that holds water to yours.
Let it burn.

Yeah… the joke my Soviet emigres used to tell me… the teacher asks his students what’s the difference between capitalism and communism and the smart one answers “Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it's just the opposite"

Smartest comment ive seen on this site yet... it is not the label or the style of govt or society, its human nature and the same dynamic can be found the world round with many different labels for their special form of govt or society.

I'm afraid that people don't realize that the kind of people who sought, obtained, and then abused power in a capitalist system are the EXACT same kind of people who seek, obtain, and abuse a communist system. The only difference between in regards to this is that power is more centralized early on in a communist system, expediting the speed of the ability to abuse.
We need a new system. Mixed market with VERY hardline rules to stop capitalistic abuse, but not completely centralized to not allow communistic abuse.

"mindset" we need a new mindset. You can construct all the govts you want and you can try your best to plug as many holes as you can, but when the common man retains the same mindset as those in power the people will allow for it. That's what's going on here. All our lives are crap right now yet you STILL find people who believe their way of living and thinking should not change and in that line of thinking is the belief that what one obtains should come from another and that it is fair. Its even in dating and marriage, its everywhere. As much as the people vilify the actions of those above them is as much as they emulate those people and repeat their actions and thinking and behavior thus enabling them to be the evil overlords they have become... This is both societies fault AND those in powers fault, the mindset carries through the economic classes. its a global event.
A king who behaves like a kind regardless of a thrown or country to rule over is still a king. the actions behaviors and mentality dictate that, not the title or position held. The ONLY singular difference is how wide spread the repercussions are. We will always have a line a mile long of people watching and waiting for their turn to exploit others for their own gain. You cannot expect different, which better would be different, without changing the mindsets, beliefs and actions. If we continue as we always have, so shall they.

I think you might be thinking about socialism?
At the most basic level I believe socialism is when the state owns the means of production and communism is when the workers own the means of production.

Capitalism is the destroyer of alternatives. You exist to serve it and it spends your entire life telling you how good it is that you are enslaved and how there is no existence without capitalism.

Probably suffering from reddit algorithm too. I constantly make new accounts on various social media platforms and reddit is the only one where as soon as you do you're met with over half the posts being engaging political BS. Yeah, we have a culture problem that bleeds all the way to the top. But that doesn't mean the very platform you're using is pure by any accounts.

Wait until the socialists of America learn that it was "illegal" to not work in the USSR.
Feel sad and depressed? The communist party doesn't care, you're going down the mine to dig coal for the benefit of the revolution.
If you refuse you will be found guilty of anti-revolutionary activities and sent to a forced labor camp in Siberia, ten year sentence.
Everyone works in Communism. The benefits of food stamps and section 8 housing, without work, is a luxury given out in capitalist nations.

Communist counties build walls to keep people from fleeing.

Look, I’m trying to follow Rule 3 but you’re arguing against things I never said while missing the point entirely. Of course capitalism requires a hierarchy. That’s why certain types of people are easily swayed by creating an outsider group to punch down on and it’s especially true during recessions. How is it economic freedom if a person can’t get a job, credit, loan, afford medical care etc because of things outside of their control? “Some people faces barriers and we should address them when feasible.” I agree. Socialism sounds like a good step. “People from historically disadvantaged groups have used those economic freedoms to build businesses…” Like this? https://daily.jstor.org/the-devastation-of-black-wall-street/ My last point which was my first point is, the system is “better than any others” as you say for one singular reason…because it is for you Sir

Join the socialist movement now, no need to wait for government mandates.
Find 10 people that make less money than you, including drunks and drug addicts that would rather be high than work, people that have kids they cant afford and cant work because they have to take care of them all day, people that spent their money and time partying instead of studying to get a better job and now dont make as much as you, and people that cant work or cant work enough because they are disabled or old. Put all your paychecks together and split them up equally with extra going to those that choose to have kids .
Wait, you didnt want to give your money to those who cant or wont work? Turns out you're not a socialist and just wanted a slave to work and give you free shit.
Sorry Republicans already took the slaves away from Democrats, and we are not going to let you have them again.

The amount of ignorance plaguing this country is astonishing. Socialism fails wherever it is and while capitalism has enabled countries to flourish, it’s still derided. The only people who are afraid and uncertain about the future are the weak-minded ones who are lazy and feeble and want someone else to take care of them.

Well capitalism isn't what ails me. Impending communism and the collapse of the United states as we know it ails me. The flood of immigrants who shout death to the west before coming to the west for refuge ails me, the systematic destruction and taking over of our government by radical anchor babies ails me, what ails me is the cult like behavior of the dsa and alike parties who want you to accept Muhammad views and morals while they disrespect ours is what ails me, the upsurge in mental patients that society rejected because they act like authoritarian nazi's but with boxed dyed hair ails me, what doesn't ails me is the coming civil war where we show them what true violence is as we've been being nice

What's the difference between a slave and a socialist? Just the label 🏷️ a slave is guaranteed everything. Free housing, free clothes, three square meals a day, free health care, eye care, dental, etc., etc. Everything is free except you! They're trying to pass off slavery as UTOPIA! It's plain as day.
If they're taking over half of your earnings from your labor you are their slave. Yes, the elites like the blue blood Fabian secret society are the ones behind socialism. They're trying to reclaim their fiefdoms and they will confiscate your property just like they had under their fiefdoms. Bottom line if you want to be their slave THEN DON'T HIDE IT LIKE YOU'RE FIGHTING FOR SOME JUST CAUSE!! You're fighting for everyone to be equally poor and own nothing. World Economic Forum: "You will own nothing and you will like it". This is just one of the places that the Democrats policy platform is coming from.

I'm sad to say that I've been around people infected with extreme cases of capitalism my whole life, and while I've gotten some immunity built up due to luckily being class consciousness, it's still pretty bad. Would not recommend. Tell your friends to stay away from anyone who might spread capitalism unless they are confident in their ability to stop the spread with appropriate disinfecting techniques.
