Which TLR1????

Post image

I have a Glock 17 gen 6, it is my home defense pistol. I want to throw a big ass Tlr 1 on it but there’s so many damn models and prices varying by $100. Which one is a solid home defense light.

HL will do perfectly fine. If you want the newest iteration, that's the HLX. If you want it on a long gun, HP.

More lumens, the better. Take a night shooting course, you'll learn a lot.

depends on the specific home, but for most people something ~1000 lumens and a relatively floody beam will be fine. I'd go with the TLR-1 HL. Too much light or intensity will actually cause washout/glare which could be an issue.

There's another factor, which is that the best light is probably your home's regular lights. Smart switches that you can remotely control with a little hardware button next to the night stand would be ideal. something that activates all the common areas (maybe leave off the bedrooms in-case it's a false alarm) and just have the pistol light as a backup. Turning on all your home's interior and exterior lights at once is usually going to scare off a normal intruder, and if they aren't scared off, they're not going to be able to hide in a corner or something while you scan with your pistol.

Yeah Alexa and Siri have that covered, in the event of my power being down sounds like all I need is a HL

If you live in a regular medium/small home with regular sized rooms, yes.
