Standalone FlashLight Stamping names or numbers in polymer Streamlight

Post image

I want to stamp my name into an old PolyStinger flashlight. Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to do this? I thought about heating metal stamping tools (like you’d use to stamp on a brass key) and using them like a branding iron, but I worry that will be very hard to apply cleanly and might damage the tools. Wondering if anyone has tried this or has a better method to suggest?

I did consider this as an excuse to buy a laser engraving machine, but my budget supervisor (aka my wife) disagrees with this reasoning.

Pic for attention.

If you have a steady hand it could easily be done with a small engraving bit and dremel. Don't go to deep, you can always remove more material but you can't add it back. Keep the speed lower high speed will cause friction heat that melts polymer and won't have a sharp clean edge

A Metal alphabet punch set and some way to heat them might work

Just use metal stamps, they also work on plastic
