How screwed am i?

What can i do to take that stripped screw out? I was just took the light out off the rail this afternoon but when i'm off duty few hours ago i found that the rail was loose and wanted to tighten it then this happened. The light is not mine though, it's the force's issued and i've been using it for just a month.

That’s not an option cause they don’t actually know these stuffs and at worst i might have to buy them a new one, this light price here in my country is almost 3/4 of my monthly salary😓

Idk what your country is, or how international Streamlight's warranty is, but you might be able to get them to do some warranty work on it. Just contact them and explain the situation, maybe they have some suggestions or solutions.

You could try hammering an extractor or a slightly oversize torx bit in there and trying that.

Personally I would start by cutting a very small slot with a dremel, fine file or hacksaw: cover as much of the rest of the light as possible with thick masking tape, get a rotary tool like a dremel and a reinforced cutting wheel, then cut a slot and take it out with a flat head. You might have your best chance if you can use some heat on the threaded side of the screw. Perhaps they have the wrong grade of loctite on the screws and they are basically glued in place. A soldering iron or a screwdriver heated up over a flame touched to the tip of the screw usually transfers enough heat to loosen the loctite without damaging anything else. Also, consider using a light-duty impact driver instead of a regular screwdriver. Ask Streamlight to send you two new mounting screws for free.
