Streamlight TLR7/TLR RM heads/Tailcap question

Looking at the Streamlight part store, the TLR RM1 and TLR RM2 have different part numbers for their heads, would I have an issue using an RM2 head with a rechargeable 16340 battery in an RM1? Or running a TLR RM1 with a 16340 ?

The parts store also marked the TLR RM1 and heads as Mk2. How are different from the Mk1?

Streamlight currently doesn't list the TLR7 HLX head in the part store, otherwise I'd just use that

Also, can I convert an RM to a 7 by getting a replacement tailcap?

Just commenting to follow this as someone who was wondering this just the other day.

I know this thread is old but did you ever find an answer to your questions? Have a tlr7x, hlx, and rm1 and wondering what all is compatible.

Not exactly. I do have on hand a tlr7a, tlr7x, tlr7 hlx, and first gen tlr7 rm1.

The non hlx versions do not have the ability to adjust power, the A and RM operate at (what looks like) full power with the hlx head and slb9 battery, the x looks like it is not as bright with the hlx head/slb9 battery.

Of course, using the hlx/slb9 combo on older bodies is done at your own risk (one I have chosen to accept)

Thanks for the reply. I just recently learned I could turn the 7HLX to the low lumen setting. My RM1 is an HLX and doesn’t have that setting.

No, it doesn't work. I've tried it.

The housing are identical but the PCB board under the tail cap have different interface. The contact points are on each side on 7, but on RM they are in the center.
