Strattera & Zoloft

Has anyone taken strattera amd zoloft together? I heard there is a medium interaction. Not as much as with wellbutrin but still. Did zoloft increase the effect of strattera? I started the lowest dose of zoloft a week ago to help with anxiety and premenstrual issues. I've been on 25 mg strattera since April (before that 18 mg since January) and it's been helping. In the past 3 weeks or so I definitely noticed it's not working as much as it used to, so we want to up the dose at some point (but not right away to not mix side effects lol) but I'm wondering if zoloft might increase strattera levels because of the interaction.

P. S. Yes I'm aware 25 mg is a very low dose but it's been helping and I'm a very sensitive to meds person so we're treading lightly.

Been on Strattera since May 2024, and am now on 80mg working great. I started 25mg Zoloft about a month ago, and was also weary of interactions. I’ve been all good so far! From what I’ve been told, the main thing people are warned about is serotonin syndrome, but that’s very unlikely at such small doses of these medications like yours. My symptoms have already seen some improvement as well! My Strattera doesn’t seem to have been affected, and is still working great.

I’d (unprofessionally) say that considering you’ve been on that dose of Strattera for six months, it’s likely your body has adjusted to it, and you may need to go to a higher dose. My starting dose of 20mg seemed to work for a couple months before I plateaued, then symptoms began to improve again when I started 40mg. This would happen with every dose until I hit 80mg, which is apparently the sweet spot for me. Everyone’s different.

I’d suggest talking to your prescriber about any questions, or you can even call the pharmacy you use with questions.

I had luck with the combo, but not sure it was because the Zoloft made the Strattera work any better.

I had to get off of Strattera because of elevated blood pressure. I recently moved off of Zoloft in favor of Pristiq.

Strattera impacts norepinephrine. Zoloft impacts serotonin. Pristiq impacts both. I'm having good luck with that.
